I went to digitalbits.com to check on to see if they had a DVD cover art for the upcoming release of Flight of the Navigator art up and they did. It seems Disney messed it up David usually has a stripped shirt on the cover I think its red and blue in the old VHS coverart. but in the new art its just plain red. heres a lookhttp://www.thedigitalbits.com/articles/upcomingdvdart/0601/flightofthenavigatordvd.jpg in the movie he never even wears a Red shirt I don't think.
I wonder if its because the blue shirt would of blended in with the background that they changed it to red? oh well guess its just a nitpick
doesnt bother me that much though. What does everyone else think?

He could be wearing a solid gold diaper and a Spice Girls T-shirt on the cover for all I care. As long as they don't mess with the actual product (Read: The actual film) it doesn't really matter.

Sure enough there's the Change.. and believe me I have to also agree about the coverart being changed..but then of course Tobias you're right as well

If Disney has decided to edit out scenes from the actual movie I think that is indeed a Travesty.. but if they decided to ADD Scenes that haven't been seen (Ever) then yes by all means provided it doesn't upset the actual film.. (But scene deletions from such a film would be not good for Disney IMHO, After all the original movie was quite good, and the story was very intriguing..

Let's just hope Eisner doesn't do... Flight of the Navigator 2...

I think the real question here about the upcoming New release onto DVD of Flight of the Navigator is really what Tobias is suggesting.. after all think about it. sure they have modifired the Original VHS Cover art for the box, but as long as the Film remains Unaltered in any way shape or form, I really wouldn't worry too much about it.. . However if Disney did a "Remastering" of the video and altered the color of the shirt to look like the cover art, then I would start to question.. but Like Tobias said, if they go in and start Deleting scenes necessary to the story itself.. that's when I would get mad..

Also to Martian Invader, There Magic in those Profits..and Memories too..:moon: :moon2:

I guess I would have to agree as long as they didnt change the color of the shirt in the movie I shouldnt worry but theres no need for disney to change the color of the shirt in the movie I dont think or atleast I hope.

That's true Toonami Fanatic, really we needn't worry. but still I understand the concern. that's pretty normal especially when Eisner and Co. have done a lot and have done things to re-edit whole shows.. so Still I wouldn't worry, but I still would be concerned about it..(After all if they (The Walt Disney Company) deleted Scenes (even no matter how small and trivial they may seem, ) From this movie, then I a tthat point would get concerned. after all there are all those shows (Like Gargoyles, and a few others) where Disney has edited out or modified at least 5-10 seconds of Film, just to get what they would feel is "a decent film."

I guess Disney in this case is just "Altering" The pretty packaging, but then again, I wouldn't put it past Eisner and Co. to do such a thing..(After all I have a funny feeling (Just call it that, a feeling) that if they did re-edit a Scene because of Violence or something else, in Flight of the Navigator, it most likely would be the scene where the young boy has to *ahem* relieve himself by "Emptying his bladder." If you catch my drift.

(After all they might conceive bodily functions as being too gross, yet it's funny cause hypocritically the have one TV Show currently that infrequently uses "Bodily function Jokes.." and then don't forget about Home on the Range.. where they use burping as an excuse just to "Laugh up a scene"..go figure.

So like I said just be concerned but get worried if this scene in Flight of the Navigator, even gets altered...

Because if even that gets altered. then I would say, be afraid, be very afraid, cause if Disney did that, they would most likely start rehashing all of their movies..(Can you imagine the Walt Disney Company editing the scene in Cinderella, where the Stepsisters of Cinderella trash her ball gown and try to turn poor Cinderella into a "Wardrobe Malfunction" notary to and nothing short of Janet Jackson, while she's wearing it? that would be a travesty unto itself..)

Nuff said,

Maybe it was changed because no kid wears that kind of shirt anymore...?

Right..... and Ray Stantz (from the Real Ghostbusters had a Tuxedo that was Pea Soup Green (Maybe that's why he was such a Lonely guy..):D

Actually it's funny that they changed the Shirt from Blue with white and Red Stripes to just a full Red Shirt..

(I would be careful if I was wearing a Red Shirt, (After all, just remember all those Star Trek Security people in the old 1966-69 Series wore red, and look where it got them!:D )

but that scene in the movie isnt really that gross he has his back turned to the camera while he is "emptying his bladder" and its mostly a scene between Max the robot on the ship and David talking about why he is there and what he plans to do with David. but I dont think it will get edited but who knows knowing disney. June 1 cant get here soon enough. About the shirt changing from blue and white to plain red. the shirt he wore on the VHS cover does kinda scream 80's but I kinda liked it.
