This thread is on the Drawing Board and Anigen Boards as well but got ignored and I really want a response, "what art colleges are you in, going to, or are interested in?"
I know Ringling School of Art and Design is in Florida, but is it close to Orlando and other Disney studios? Is Savanah School of Art and Design popular because it is close to Altanta where Cartoon Network Studios/Hanna-Barbara is?

All I can say is that I would think the Ringling School would be in Sarasota as that town has a long & proud historical identifiaction with the RBB&B Circus

Already I'm informed! Is Ringling really named after Barnem and Baley(sp?) Circus? What does that have to do with art?
This Ringling School? (http://www.rsad.edu/)

That's it.
I just was wondering if there is any art at that circus or did the Ringling brothers went there or what? Why not name a clown college or another school after them?
What I really wanted to know was what art colleges are popular with everybody and what they thought were the best ones. I hardly know anything about any of them and the thread doesn't have to be about just Ringling or Savannah.

John Ringling moved the circus' winter quarters there in 1927. He & his wife Mabel founded the Ringling Art Museum there in '25. We now return this thread to asking people in what art schools they're interested. I must say I have heard good things about Loyola Marymount. Van Partible, the creator of Johnny Bravo, has been known to teach there, & the moderator of the premiere Road Rovers forum is among its alumnae.

As long as it is The Arts I want to know! I would consider Digipen as an art school just because it is funded by Nintendo and I consider video games an art. It could be an university with an exeptional art program. I consider anything creative as art: writing, music, acting, etc.

See: Julliard (sp?) NYC - pre-eminent art school in the USA
(good enough for Jerry Garcia)
Well - I actually happen to go to SCAD and I like the Computer Art and Sequential Art (comic books department). They're pretty cool. :)
Currently I'm taking History of 2D Animation, Drawing 2, and Motion Studies.
My current major is Computer Art in the 2D Animation track, but I'm SERIOUSLY considering doing a double major in Sequential Art (hence the daily online comic strip I do, but was on hold for a week due to my bad car accident on tuesday :( )
I like it. Its fun, and I've honestly learned a *lot* consider that the last college I went to before I transferred to SCAD BLEW MIGHTILY. :D
I cant speak for the other departments though
I can say this. Cal Arts was my first choice but its EXPENSIVE AS ALL HELL. It takes a lot just for me to go here. But I'd rather not sell my soul and give up my right eye to go to school if you know what I mean :P
Plus SCADs on the side of the country I come from (Alabama) which is very convenient I guess.
Was that any help? :)

That was a great help! I asked you if you went to SCAD in a seprete thread. Sequential Art is what I was intending to take if I go there.
Cal is more expensive than SCAD? Do you get any scholorships, Jon? Would you say that an all arts school is better preparation than a regular university?
You must be like your car and TV: broke.;)
