Recently in an interview Toonzone had with Bruce Timm & Paul Dini we got the following excerpt from Paul Dini:
.......
"I promised Bruce I'd keep mum on any Justice League Unlimited details," he says. "Although I will say I wrote a script for next season and had a fun time doing it. Any other new WB/DCAU shows in the works I can't comment on at this time, although it's likely that official announcements will soon be forthcoming."
.......
...can anyone clue me in as to what this might be in reference to? IOW, have there been rumors, or talk of a new DCUA-related show, DTV release, etc. beyond the remaining seasons of Justice League Unlimited? This paragraph jumped out at me, but then again, hope of anything DCUA related after recent announements seems to do that! I'm willing to wait for those "forthcoming announcements," just curious as to the context of the statement.
Anything about the DCUA continuing in some form is GREAT news, natch, so hopefully there's something to cheer about here.
Additional comments? Ideas? Does b.t. have any insight, if not spoilers?
Regardless, thanks for all the efforts over the years Bruce, Paul, Mike, Ty, Rick, Tim, Dan, Paul, Scott & Co.! It hasn't gone unappreciated and fortunately we've got a long way to go -- here's to hoping for JLU Seasons 5 & 6...

I have no idea what Paul's comment could be a reference to. I don't think there's been anything rumored to come out. I suppose it could be the oft-whispered-about Justice League Direct-to-video movie, but I dunno. I thought that was shelved, myself.
Maybe a Gear spinoff?

Well on Dwayne McDuffie's site there is a piece on JLU that also talks about the CN Krypto series. It's described as "having a Hanna Barbera feel" to it. Krypto as the Superman of the animal world. Aimed at a younger demographic I think.

Interesting...
Just didn't want that particular part of the interview to go relatively unnoticed and unaddressed when it specifically mentions the possibility of WB/DCUA-related work that is 'yet to be announced.'
I hesitate to hope for too much here, but what can ya do -- can't get enough of the Timm & Co. animated stuff!
Anyone else?

It probably Krypto the Super dog.

Man, I can't remember where the specific interview was, but I thought that last fall, when Mystery of Batwoman did relatively well, the Paul Dini said this made WB more willing to consider future DTVs, and that he was considering resurrecting either an old Nightwing story he was working on or a Black Canary story he was working on, for said movie. I thought I remember him saying that, but it hasn't been referenced in a while...

I don't think Kamandi should be ruled out. He has not been used yet in any series, and it is the perfect project to do as an animated series, in either KidsWB or Cartoon Network.

DC has a large catalog for the WBA to choose from
if anything else is on the hot stove, it's probably something you'd least expect:
doing Batman, Superman, and the Justice League were no-brainers
however, WBA really came out of leftfield w/ Batman Beyond
another eyebrow raiser was Static Shock
and I'm guessing many were surprised when they heard Teen Titans got a series
while it may be conventional thought that Leaguers like Wonder Woman, GL, or the Flash will get a series, I wouldn't be surprised if WBA announced a new series starring The Legion or the Birds of Prey. Heck, if Adult Swim endures, WBA might dip into Vertigo's catalog to produce a TV14 series.
Teen Titans success could be the catalyst that green-lights a Legion series. A group of young heroes in the distant future. Not a tough pitch for KWB or CN.
the Birds of Prey have a shot as well. The Powerpuff Girls and Totally Spies are proof that heroines can succeed on CN. And don't discount the Bat-factor. Part of TT's winning formula is the popularity and recognition Robin brings to the show.
Most kids know who Robin is but probably never heard of the other Titans. Same goes for BOP. Kids know who Batgirl is , hence they'd probably watch BOP. And with a new movie, a new series, and the success of a Robin-led Titans, WBA might produce a show w/ strong Bat-ties.
In today's landscape, that's most likely the Birds of Prey. I don't think CN/KWB execs would greenlight a Nightwing series right now because they're already making a young Batman series...and in their eyes it would basically be the same show. Perhaps 5 yrs from now they will.

Hey, I'm all for A Legion of Superheroes cartoon. But I'd like it to stay away from Justice League and Superman territory. I don't want to see Brainiac or Vandall Savage or anything associated with the shows prior to it. It should be complete with all new adventures and heroes and style, just not like Teen Titans.

I'm guessing another Batman DTV, and maybe a JL one could be in the works. It'd be great if we got a new series for another DC hero, but I'm not sure if that'll happen.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Nightwing or Martian Manhunter series for CN.

A Batman/Nightwing DTV and a Justice League DTV are two things I DEFINATELY want to see happen.

I'll second that. I'd also like to see the Flash in his own series. The more I watch Justice League, the more I like him. Seeing Grodd and Shade on JL is cool, but he's got some other interesting rogues as well. It'd be cool to see them in more than just cameos like in "Eclipsed."

I bet if sales for the JL: Starcrossed DVD are good, they'll greenlight a JL DTV movie.
I think future DCAU projects will probably not be in the same continuity as these series, but rather the "Earth 2" that has been started up with "The Batman." So saying, it might be awhile before they go back to the iconic heroes in JL, and we'll probably get something totally unexpected.

Oh god, please no one start calling "The Batman" as part of an earth 2 universe. I cannot stand it if there are multiple Universes running around the same continuity. Just say it's a "separate project."

Geez the old Pre Crisis Multiple Earth stuff really does still upset people doesn't it.:)
A Legon series would be great. That "New Kids in Town" episode of STAS was good. But like what has already been said keep it seperate from current DCU stuff. The Legion has a wealth of stuff to draw from.
I know it would never happen but I'd love to see JSA done DCAU style. Set it in WW II with a "mystery men" feel. Heroes new to all and not always out in the open.
The Green Lantern Corps would be another natural for an animated series. Multiple races and cultures. Plenty of material.

I remember back when Warner Bros. was more interested in making a Legion series than a Justice League series.

I think that's a clever name, and a nice nod to the old DC comics before Crisis hit. It looks like with "The Batman" and "Teen Titans" are not sharing the same universe either.
As for any future projects that are in-continuity, I'd like to see just a simple wrap up to the current DCAU universe. JLU seems to be the end of it all and it would be nice for the creators to be able to wrap it all up with the possibility of revisiting it for the odd DTV.
