... and Yogi Berra was & is so right! Even if, as Nelson's reported elsewhere, there may be an internal move afoot to change the format of WHSE-TV yet again in 2002, I'd like to know who says we still can't make an impact by writing the station to let 'em know where we stand on classic toons?!??!!???
Here's my version of the letter in question, which is going out in tomorrow morning's mail. Are you with me? Then feel free to borrow from it any way you like and send it on as well. Even better, pass the word to a friend or three in any or all of the Forums, and let's make this a truly solid grass roots movement in the name of Toon Power! (Just don't include any mention of un-PC shorts, so we can go on enjoying them for however much longer!! But you knew that.)
Anyway, here's the mailing address and my prototype:

Dear Sir or Madam:
This is to compliment you and your programming team on the new daily schedule of shows for WHSE-TV, Channel 68.
In particular, as a fan and scholar of classic animation, I'm here to praise your weekday and Saturday half-hour series, "Cartoon Arcade" and "Cartoon Junction." With these, WHSE is providing the wider variety of happily remembered "toon" short subjects ... and a welcome alternative to the narrower choices seen on most major cable networks ... long awaited by viewers like myself.
Kindly understand here that the audience I speak of includes adults in every age and demographic group, and is hardly limited to toddlers and preschoolers, as the popular media picture would have it. With that in mind, I hope you will not only continue to run these existing hour-long blocks as a key part of your telecasting day, but also add more such classic animated fare in the months to come.
Thanks for your kind consideration, and carry on!
