well, lost soul aired today on cn, and i noticed a small mistake. in the very begining, that took place during tnba time, when robert vance was still alive and they show him talking at a press conference, out the window is the purple bb buildings/skyline. it was a quick shot, but it was there.

I thought the episodes took place twenty years before BB times. Bruce mentions at once point in the episode a specific date (like 10 or 15 years back).

I don't think of it as a mistake really. In BB the sky is always purple regardless of flashback or not. Like in TNBA Batman's symbol is always the same. In Mad Love they flashback to BTAS and yet Batman still has the same symbol.

I'll support you on this one, Derek... I remember that the press conference flashback went out of its way to present the red sky to give it a "past" look. If indeed they showed a purple sky during this sequence, then it was a goof.

I stand corrected. I just watched I live on the Pacific side you guys must be on the east coast. During the press conference its outside. And for the over part of the flashback its red. Its definitely a production error.

yeah, it was so obvious because it showed the press conference scene, then cut to the vance building outside w/ the red sky, which slowely transformed into the bb skyline. plus, i always assumed it was tnba time. for one, im pretty sure its mentioned, that is, a time period. also, summer gleason is doing the news report on robert vance, and she doesnt look any older or anything. so im pretty sure, if not positive, that the begining was meant to take place in tnba time. oh well, we've had worse production mistakes. peace.

Regarding Tim Drake's comment on the flashback scene in "Mad Love"...

Sure Batman has the non-yellow-oval symbol in the flashback just like in TNBA, but remember that in the flashbacks to "Robin's Reckoning" and "The Mechanic" Batman had no yellow oval there, either.

I think that it played into the creative team's hands that the 'flashback' Batman looks very similar to the TNBA Batman.

yeah, it did work well. but they are kind of different things imo. w/ the batsybol, the difference is just style of animation, but in bb, its big things like what the whole city looks like, so obviously it wouldnt work too well to have the bb sky in tnba time. plus if that was the case, then rotj would have some serious problems.
