View Full Version : Dream TV/ Animation crossovers

I was just thinking what I would be like if, for instance, Clark Kent from Smallville happened to travel to LA and had a run in with Angel or Batman (animated) crossed paths with King of the Hill. What would anyone's dream crossover be?
(note: obviously doesn't have to follow particular canon or continuity of the particular shows)

--Daria meets Pinky and the Brain. I wrote a crossover with that idea several years before, in fact. Daria notes how similar she is to Brain (and dislikes it) and Quinn becomes very smitten with Pinky--but Brain's ambition to rule the world tears them apart.
All right...a wild card (no pun intended)...perhaps Cardcaptor Sakura meets Jackie Chan? Both are heavy with concepts of Chinese magic/folklore. Li would enjoy reading Uncle's spellbooks...and it'd be fun to see a tiny thing like Sakura face a big mug like Hok Fu ("Mighty ox trample tiny apple blossom!"), or two strong-willed girls like Mei-Lin and Jade butt heads.

Big O and Dr. Slump... How would Dorothy respond to fellow female cyborg Arale(a dead ringer for Digimon's "Yolei")? Would she too resort to playing with poo?
Yugi-Oh and Battle Royale.... Yugi-tachi wake up to the stoic face of Beat Takeshi. He is now their teacher and explains the rules of Battle Royale. Yugi and his friends end up with bags containing some of the more pitiful weapons. None of them win.
Thinking of more... Get back to you all on it. Be afraid.

Yes, be very afraid. Of ...
... the Rocky and Bullwinkle cast of characters suddenly leaping into the Pokemon universe, where they self-consciously discover that they too are now being drawn in the typical anime style.
And this dream crossover gets more frightening still, as Boris and Natasha meet Team Rocket ... Dudley Do-Right finds himself surrounded by a sea of hot & lovestruck Officer Jennys and forgets all about Nell ... and most terrifying of all ... Rocky, Bullwinkle, and Mr. Peabody are each quickly struck by and sucked inside a Pokeball, only to experience the ultimate panic a short while later as each one hears the cry, "I choose you ...!"

I think about crossover scenarios quite a bit and how interesting (though improbable) they would be. Clark taking a trip to LA and meeting up with Angel (maybe the way that Terry met up with Superman in "The Call") and helping him fight off some very surprised demons or vampires would be fun. Or possibly Superman or Batman showing up on X-Men or Spiderman (done in the comics, not in animation yet). The Rosewell gang showing up on Buffy. Dark Angel showing up on X-Files (that could be a big story arc). Dark Angel showing up on Angel or Buffy. Anything like that is intriguing to me.

CCS' Eriol and S:TAS' Mxy out to pester the JLA with their bizarre magic.
OrgazmoMon... More like a amalgram, I suppose. "Matt" is a door-to-door Tipitaka salesman, trying to get enough money for him and Tai to have an oppulent Western-style wedding. He winds up being hired by Oikawa. Gabumon is Chodo Boy, "Henry" is the stunt...person, "Davis' is the repressed lighting(?) guy, Ken gets onboard because he keeps saying "but I am Kaiser", Michael is the owner of a diner and a J-Pop wannabe...
After having recorded the voices of the 2 main characters in the Japanese dub of "Asses of Fire", "Tracey" and "Brock" find themselves on the run from "Officer Jenny". Sneaking out of the country thanks to "Lt. Surge" and his big American passport, the two lay low in South Park and end up meeting the Canadian actors they dubbed for.
I've got a Springer/DBtrio idea but I'll put it up on ff.net

Doom. As in Doctor Victor von, the Baron of Latveria. He's an insane nut with more tricks than both Blackstones. Magic, tech, and diplomatic immunity. Imagine him against the JLA. Or Cardcaptor Sakura. Or naybe the Dragon Ball crowd. He could win or lose to all of them and it'd be a good story.
Magneto started out as a Doctor Doom knockoff, and he'd work well in some of the same scenarios. I'd relish seeing him kick Son Goku and friends around, Kamehameha energy blasts bouncing harmlessly off his energy shield and everything. "You cannot move. I'm holding you in place by the iron in your blood. Shallow fools, you cannot hope to stop the Master of Magnetism!"
Y'know, I've never seen Mr. Peabody panic.

--a crossover between Men in Black, Yoshiaki Kawajiri's Wicked City, and Dragonball. J and K work with Taki Renzaburo and his lover/partner Makie on a case involving Black World beings, while Master Roshi and Giuseppe Mayart hit every strip club, erotic massage parlor, and newstand that sells skin rags in Manhattan. :p

Ecch. Wicked City made me sick to my stomach. It has to be the most exploitative, unpleasant anime I've ever seen. (sorry Doc.)
Getting to the actual topic, I'd love to see what would happen if the Irresponsible Captain Tylor and the Soyokaze met up with the Next Gen Enterprise crew. Another one would be the MiB cleaning out the cast of 3rd Rock.
