Hey, I noticed on the news page there's a JL 80-second preview with clips from "Secret Origins." For some reason, my computer won't play it, and I'm guessing it's because it's a RAM file (I'm no expert on the stuff, it's just a guess). Could someone covert it to some other extension (I THINK .mov is one...). Sorry if this is vague. Thanks!

I believe you'll need Realplayer
A question to anyone who's watched the clip?
Is this an official preview? or something commix to film edited themselves from (as I understand it) the entire 90min. episode they received?,
I'd like to know because if its clap I'll inevitably run into on TV, or in a commercial I'll watch it now. But if it's something they put together with all the best scenes. I don't think I want to trust C2F with what they deem as "non-spoiler teaser material.
Without spoilers can anyone describe what this "preview" is?

It honestly don't think it spoils very much. Its NOT the clip they showed at San Diego Comic Con. Which I still love so much. I think I'm the only one here who ever saw it. Its got some cool action sequences and some shots of the villains nothing really spoiler it seems to me.

Sorry, that should read;

The clip is something that C2F whipped up. I'm assuming it'll be the intro and a part of the show. I haven't been able to view it either. Hopefully someone can transfer it to a different (and better) program.

my computer had trouble playing it, so i only saw like half of it. but the animation looks great!! i was a bit worried about the quality of the animation, first since its cartoon network whose budget for original shows im guessing isnt as big as kidswb, and second, because in the commercial on cn w/ the scene showed at comic con, the part w/ wonder woman looked oddly off and cheap. this puts my mind at ease.
BUT-----
as mentioned by the new review on the news page, the bombings and military tanks and all that in the scene really disturbed me, what w/ all thats going on in the world. it really didnt have that kind of fantastic effect that it use to when i watched worlds finest or rotj for the first time. it was just too close to home. i guess we can take those things for granted when they are pure fiction, but when they become real, its effect is completely different. i live in nyc and september 11 was the first time i EVER experienced any kind of real war or threat on that scale, something many previous generations have experienced in their lives. it just changes my whole outlook, so unfortunately (for better or worse) those alien invasions scenes in the clip (while i still like it), well, lets just say i viewed the animated bat universe differently for the first time since 1992, it was just different from how i usually sit in awe and fasination at the incredible, yet unreal events that now are just alittle too real. oh well, it still kicks butt, its just unfortunate that what SHOULD only occur in comics and cartoons had to happen to us in real life. peace.

As unhappy as they may make you, those are some very important realizations that I wish more people had. The past two months are a lot to think about. But, as of right now, our top priority is to live our lives the best we can. And heck, maybe seeing our favorite fictional heros tackle some immense fictional problems can spark some inner strength of our own by fiction to non-fiction comparisson. So I say, let's do our best to enjoy the show. :)
I haven't seen the clip yet, but I ALWAYS hate when net people put their movies in Realplayer format (RAM, RM, whatever). I have that stupid program. Times like this remind me, YET AGAIN, how I should get some of that movie clip software I used in the computer labs at school. Oh well.... :)

There's also a QuickTime version, which I wasn't able to view in the computer lab, but as soon as I get to my room, I'm watchin' it again.
Re: The bombing scenes
With no disrespect meant, this IS a cartoon. While I know that I've never been to New York, let alone live there to experience that horror first-hand, I have been following events. The amount of censoring going on because of the attacks is just outrageous, and I'm glad that JL will not be changed.

Heh. Guess I shoulda thought to look on the Comics2Film site. Okay, thanks! Looking forward to seeing it.
As for how things are affecting me...not much. I watched ROTJ not long ago, didn't affect me very much, besides thinking about it. The only thing I've seen on TV that affected me now but wouldn't have before was an episode of Johnny Bravo. Johnny got these super-shoes which let him fly and get super-strength and the such. One of the first things he does is see an airplane on fire, hurling towards the ground. Johnny grabs the plane, gets all the peanuts out, and throws the plane into a mountain. I was somewhat relieved of this when I heard shouts from the people on the mountain: "We're okay!"
But otherwise, I'm glad they're not chopping down JL. Like people have said, it's an alien attack (and yes, I know "alien" can refer to someone from another country, but you know what I mean). Big difference, 'cause we've never had problems with beings from outer space here in the real world. I say just sit back and try to enjoy the viewing. We've been waiting a long time for this.

hey blondone, i hate to disagree w/ someone w/ such a phat avatar :), but even though its just a cartoon, the fact that a cartoon presents events that hit close to home can disturb anyone, especially because its a cartoon, ie sort of trivalizing the idea of a major city getting bombed (i'm sure the casualties in JL will be very few). but again, while its alittle strange to watch, ofcourse i will still watch it and enjoy it.
and as far as the censoring thing goes, i am in full suport of it, because (as i probably stated before) i dont really see it as censoring, just other people being really sensitive and curtious to the people who have been through quite alot these days. its more of common curtousy than censoring, imo. peace.

Let's just agree to disagree then, because on the censorship topic we could both probably go on for hours ;)
And thanks for the props.

Well you see thats just it...
a blown up building is *supposed* to have dramatic impact.
We've just gotten used to building seeming like peices of cardboard with windows in film and tv. This plus even a love story cant seem to end without a building blowing up.
So now, the idea of a city aflame has dramatic resonance on the level it *should* have andint he context of JL its not a gratuitous thing, it works for the story.

I noticed the sound wasn't working at the beginning of the clip anyone else have this problem?

The sound's just some music background. No voicework (except a reporter), which I was really looking forward to.
