Dang.
Interesting episode, liked it better than last weeks.

Defintley better then last week's.
I guess there's hope there will be episodes more focused on the cases.
And no real repetive jokes from previous episodes.
That's some big points there.
"We worked out a deal. He gets to ride my motorcycle anytime he wants."
"And his woman."

That was funny and I liked it. The part in the ending about the egg was fun, but Jesse Jackson threw me for a loop. Or well, Jesse Jackson always does that.

This was a good episode by Birdman standards. The new season is getting off to a good start after the horrific start to the series. For unreleated purposes, this episode was "great".

one of the funnier episodes I thought. peanut cracked me up doing his bobby impression and him swimming on air in the flashback.
Another great episode. Penis jokes were still present, but not so forced this time. What happened to the chick? Are they not married? Do I really care? No, of course not. Mentok rules, Devlin was funny, and gags were quick and funny.
4.5/5
Ah, yes! Much better than last week's awful episode. It was much more focused and had me laughing out loud a lot. Freezoid was a nice addition.
Art imitates Life.. Life imitates Art.. Imitation rules. My "The Devlin Made Me Do it" Review:
So our favorite Attorney At Law, Harvey Birdman, takes on a new case of Mr Devlin, stunt man, who's being sued by Bobby.. the kid IMITATING him, hilarity ensues as we meet Freezoid, get a taste of Devlin's woman, Peter Potamus and his attempts to get back his egg... which comes out to hatch something looking awfully similar to Jesse Jackson.. Plus those Instructional videos by Devlin "How to ride your bicycle and jump a ravine" led Harvey to call him Insane.. They lost.. Good episode.. Didn't have me laughing hard, but I enjoyed it a lot. I give it a B.
Nice punchline at the end: (Thanks to DSRGirl, I'm too lazy to remember it perfectly like that.)
"We worked out a deal. He gets to ride my motorcycle anytime he wants."
"And his woman."

Another great episode. The best part was Harvey's deliberation in court. It was clever how he was lighting a match on Bobby's foot, and Bobby being so bandaged up. The Garfield man and the Devlin video were great too. Also, it was nice to see Jesse Jackson show up again...and that bear of course!
The only problem that I have is that the writers shouldn't make Peter Potamus out as a sex-addicted employee, I am certain he's more than that.
Best line: After Devlin is extinguished at a bar and women come to him - "Is it hot in here, or was I engulfed in flames?" :D
Also, the video "How To Ride Your Bicycle Over a Ravine Comma Bobby"
Way better than last week's, tho it lost a lot of steam after the beginning.
Devlin gets bonus points for being way cooler than he ever was on his stupid show. I also found much amusement in his ability to burst into flames for no real good reason at all.
And oh yeah, the shortened intro is stupid. B

SO much better than last week. Storywise at least (aside from the Avenger joke that just felt tacked on for no reason). Animationwise it's STILL distinguisable from the regular animation. Maybe it's just my TV though, since I'm watching it on a 12 year old 52 inch rear projection TV. It is REALLY noticalbe though, not just a little, you can really see the stilted and jerkyness of it all. Especially anything concering Devlin and Mentok. I think I figured out what made Phil look off last week though (his eye was open too much).
Overall though, it was good, and, uh, whatever Freezebotguy's name was was a nice change of pace from Reducto's overuse. When are we getting Hannibal the Hunter though already (Come on, EASY EASY EASY Sean Connery conversion there...)?

I agree that you can tell it's different from the old style, but I don't know how people are complaining that its so much worse than before. It's not like Disney was doing it or anything.

There was nothing bad about it, and the newest lawyer (I'm sure he's knew) was a cool and breezy character up to par with even Reducto. It wasn't a really good episode, but i had some great laughs. For some reason I cracked up about the Y7 thing.

Dang.I know, I love the intro.
Hmm I guess I really can't compare this to other episodes because I hardly watch Harvey and just started watching it because of my stupid notion that if i watch everything else on adult swim, but turn off the TV during The Ripping Friends, that They will see no one watches RF, and bring back Home Movies, but im just one person and oh god listen to me...
but that was an OK episode.
I love the Judge person, I forgot his name.

I had never seen this show until this episode. Funny stuff! The use of classic H-B characters in such a goofy way cracks me up!
Were those pictures of Jane Jetson that Peter Potamus was shredding?
There were alot of hilarious jokes--thanks to the manic pacing. The constant "There!" when Birdboy (??) swears he sees Bobby scratching his nose was quite amusing. The ratings systems reference and that old woman defying the laws of gravity was also quite amusing.
I'm going to have to start watching this show!

In contract to the last episode, which was almost a stream of consciousness collection of sight gags and wierdness, this was MUCH more focused. (Although I liked plenty in trio's company-ex. call me ishmael the video game). The jokes were still funny, but the episode allowed for a decent amount of character development. If the series continues to put out episodes like this and not fall into the stupidity void that sealab hits about 50% of the time, it will easily be tied with Aqua teens as the best William Street show.
I hated Peanut and mentok when they first showed up, but they definitely have grown on me. Didn't like the flash animation at first, but it's growing on me

I have no idea why anyone would think this animation is that bad.
I love the Flash Animation, even more than the original animation. It works so well.
I didn't think the Jessie Jackson baby would show up here, but I loved it. So completely random.

Noone would know it was Flash if they weren't told it.
I'm an animator and I know for a fact that it's animated way better than the original episodes. It may sound snooty (pretend I'm Amid Amidi for a second, because he tried to pull the same shtick on me a couple of days ago), but I don't think non-animators can really judge animation or boarding quality without extreme study. Maybe that's why people say the animation in Tiny Toons and Animaniacs is 'good'. Yeah, and Harry Knowles is thin.
Just looking at the animation, there are practically no tweens at all, and more drawings in the show than in the original episodes. The timing is way better because there aren't a dozen retakes, and no confusion with overseas animators, because there are none. Also due to this, the lip sync is pefect, as opposed to mangled (like in Shoyu Weenie).

On occasion I notice slightly some objects do stand out in the flash animation, but it really doesn't detract from anything. Quite frankly it's no big change, they animated it well...it's all good...

I'm actually amazed that Flash animation has come such a long way. I wouldn't use it for everything, but in this TV cartoon medium, it's not objectionable. And it's certainly better than the cardboard cutout style of Sealan 2021, although by now, this is just Sealab's style. And if you want to see lousy Birdman animation, just go back to the Jonny Quest pilot episode.
As for Peter Potamus' Jane Jetson pictures, you really need a TiVo and a big screen TV to make the pictures out. Best I could tell, the shredded pics were Jane Jetson:
as a french maid
in a bikini
rear-facing topless bikini
dressed as Abe Lincoln (must be a carryover joke from last week)
Of course, it could have been worse. It could have been pictures of Judy Jetson. I'm not even sure Adult Swim could get away with that kind of a joke.

This may be a dumb question at this point, but anyone happen to know what Steven Colbert does on the show? I noticed his name in the credits this week, and I think I'd seen it there before, too.
Anyway, this was a solid episode, a big step above last week. Tight plot, neat new character in Freezoid, Mentok was up to his normal standard of goodness, plenty of good yuks to be had. Devlin himself wasn't all that funny, but the rest of the episode made up for him. As for the animation, I could care less-- I don't notice a difference, but I wouldn't care if I did, because it's not the sort of show where it really matters.

One of the funniest Birdmans I ever saw since the Fred "Mafioso" Flinstone eppy . It had its fair share of intelligent laughs which is a rarity these days in my opinion (Trying to poke fun at both the kids and performers on Jackass and other shows is always good hehe ) . Plus Mentok is becoming funnier and funnier , "wheer eee eee ooo " and the mind encryption was great , its a real shame however that Peanut wasn't quite up to par , far too subtle for a guy who had the cajones to hit on a cast member from the Amazing Chan Clan :anime: . All in all a great episode for a great show and it teaches a valuable lesson - never try to copy impossible feats from an aging old Devlin who has a hosed down Bea Arthur for his old lady and never try and take a baby Jesse James egg from Avenger ... ever .

This was much better then last weeks episode. Mentok in an episode is always good. I see Freezoid is taking advantage of his freezing ability to pass out buisness cards, he seems like a good new character. I found myself laughing a lot during this episode, it was a lot funnier then some of the other episodes have been.

"The Devlin Made Me Do It" was another great Birdman ep. "Who the hell is Devlin?" was a great line to start off with. Freezoid finally gets a speaking role. He's only been in the background until now, IIRC. Funny how he kept turning everything into ice. The Jesse Jackson appearence at the end was totally unexpected also. Good episode even though Phil didn't have a good ha ha joke.

I'm just glad Birdman finally has a permanent animation studio and style. Everyone looks on model all the time, for one.

I didn't really like the episode the first time I watched it, but the second time I caught all the stuff that I missed and it turned out to be really funny. I hope Judge Mightor comes back for a case, but Mentok is hilarious, they should fight because Mentok took his job.

8 episodes to go. I can't wait for the one with Grape Ape. I hope there's another Scooby Doo episode, perhaps with Velma and gay rights or something like that.
Just a little list of the voice actor's other jobs.
Phil and Reducto- from The Daily Show and Mr. Goodwrench commercials.
Mentok- the gay guy from the movie Best in Show
Harvey- Lumburg from Office Space
Devlin- Cottin Hill from King of the Hill
X the Eliminator- Janosz Poha from Ghost Busters 2
Spyro- the other gay guy from Best in Show, and Lenny from Laverne and Shirly
Freezoid- Brain from Pinky and the Brain, Kiff Kroaker, and millions of other voices
