Is Proud Family over?

Hey everyone!

I was just wandering if the Proud Family had ended? I have tried to tune into Disney to catch it, but all I see is reruns. Could someone help me out?

To answer your question, no. The Proud Family is still on the air. In fact, a new episode aired last night, and there are still several episodes left before Disney uses its traditional 65-episode limit to end the series.

I really hope that Disney won't end this show after the 65-episode :sad: limit and this my favorite show on the disney channel. :mad: Plus I try to watch all the episodes I can. I was wondering why Disney is only showing new episdoes on the odd days of the month? I think sometimes disney treats this show like garbage and they never come out with stuff for the Proud Family, either. I mean all the other shows like Kim Possible, and others had movies to go with the show and TPF doesn't. :confused: What Gives?! :mad: :mad:

Actually the status on the Proud Family has been sort of updated over at TV Tome to read as being on "Hiatus" which means the show does run new episodes from time to time but not like it has been..(of course if we go by the 65 Rule this one was number 56 or 57 by my count..(which means 8-9 more episodes.. then it's Re-run city...)

BTW last night's Episode was funny as they brought back Al Roker as the Evil one, and believe me Penny's got to stop Wishing for things to Happen.. First time it was she wished all the adults were gone.. This time she wished Bee Bee and Cee Cee to grow up.. what's next...? Who knows...(But I hope she doesn't wish she wants a boyfriend.. else Oscar is going to have a FIT!:D )

(after all this isn't 1985, it's 2004..)

That's the problem with Disney, and I think if they got over this thing about "Wait till it's 65, then kill it syndrome" I think Disney itself would have more appreciative fans of these shows if they stopped that practice. But all in all as for The Proud Family.. Just watch.. (I'm not a betting man, but if I were, I'd Bet that Disney would release next year a Proud Family Movie .. (usually when they do a Movie (Like a Sitch in Time(For Kim Possible) or Recess: Schools Out (For Recess) or Teacher's Pet: The Movie (For the show) you can figure they're saying to us.. That's it.. Show's over. Time to move on.

it really doesn't have to be though.. after all they could shift this to either Toon Disney or Jetix (Most likely the former) and continue producing episodes.. for the fans.. at least it would give folks some consolation to this issue..

but as for The Proud Family.. I have no clue why they are doing this.. but maybe you should contact The Walt Disney Company and ask/Complain about it.. after all the more you talk to them.. perhaps they will listen..

I might try to contact disney and see what they have to say about this matter, :evil: I really doubt they are going to listen But it's owrth a shot though. Hopefully I hope they consider raising the 65- episode limit. :D :p

Proud Family is a weird show to me. I thought the first season was really good, but after that things just got....bad. I still like its animation style, though.

The show may be on hiatus/over, but I suspect Disney will pull a Lizzie McGuire and show a new episode every once in a while for special occasions, like marathons or holidays.

This time she wished Bee Bee and Cee Cee to grow up.Aha! This raises that all-important question again. That question that I've wondered for quite a while know, and you, having seen this episode, can likely answer:

One of the babies is obviously a girl. The other baby's gender has always been indeterminable. So... are they both girls? Or is one of them a boy?

Alright I decided to bring this up to point as It just crossed my mind about "The Proud Family and the things that have been happening in the last couple of weeks..

First off the Topic is "Is the Proud Family Over? " Probably not, after all we're talking 52 Episodes so far (that leaves 13 to go for the Prouds before the 65 and retire it rule kicks in..

but then just recently on Disney's 411 they were talking about the New Proud Family SoundTrack (Including the song from the TV Video starring LPDZ (you know which one I am talking about..)

but what really is odd is this.. Why would Disney Say to the VA's (Voice Actors/Actresses) "Oh we're going to cancel your show, and one more thing... before you go could we get you to do the singing for your Show's Soundtrack?:confused:

that's the Conundrum.. How could The Proud Family be yet cancelled and yet Disney is asking and producing a Proud Family soundtrack..:confused:

So where does this leave the show? In limbo?

and this not only applies to The Proud Family but to yet another show.. Kim Possible.. and it leaves me to wonder do these shows (Both The Proud Family and Kim Possible, still have enough life in them to keep going BEYOND 65?)

Guys, have you been on TV Tome lately? I went to The Proud Family show guide two days ago, and I noticed that the "Current Episodes" TV box on the show guide's right...was gone! When someone supposedly said that the episodes "Who You Callin' a Sissy" and "Duck Story" was going to air.

So an alarm went off in my head. But what is really weird is this: Just a few minutes ago, I went to SaveMyShow.com and voted on The Proud Family if it should stay on the air, and I was freaked when I saw the results of other peoples' votes afterwards:

Yes: 49%
No: 49%
I don't care either way: 2%

Now what really freaked me out were the results of not letting it stay on the air (No). 49%? That wasn't true. I knew that totally! I knew that kids and adults in the U.S, even the world, loved The Proud Family.

One more thing: I agree that 65-episode limits are soooo 1985!

Well it's not surprising there sisterstar, after all a number of us have been wondering if anything is going on in Burbank, but you're like the rest of us in terms of the new epsiodes (and it's not just one disney show, but all of them! (From The Proud Family, to Dave the Barbarian, to even Kim Possible and Lilo and Stitch, no one here really knows what the real truth is about our favorite Disney shows!)

Agreed. The Disney Channel has come up with at least 3 Quality shows in the Last 2 years (The Proud Family , Kim Possible, and of course Lilo and Stitch) and yet you're correct in your observation. (I mean if you check other shows on that same site, there are major Discrepencies. (and even shows that have been Cancelled already (Like Even Stevens and Lizzie McGuire) were ones the Fans really wanted, and it's just like the next thing you know.. *Poof* Gone..



One more thing: I agree that 65-episode limits are soooo 1985!
Agreed. After all that policy was set indeed in 1985, and it wasn't until 1994, that a second rule to that same policy was set, the 3 Season/Year rule (though I could go through the whole 9 yards here, but I won't)..

But yes, the rule you mention, is indeed a lame duck issue.

Just like Braceface! It's part of TV Tome, and it's now on Disney Channel. NOW this is starting to make some sense!

You know, I bet there is a leader (not the back-in-the-day leader) of the WHOLE Disney Channel this year. (and I'm not talking about Playhouse Disney and Toon Disney). Now it ALL adds up! Whoever this leader is, I have a feeling that he's the one who's behind all this! And, just like tucsoncoyote said, he's the one, along with Disney, who told the VA that they were going to cancel the show and for them to sing in the TV soundtrack! Infact, I think that he changed the results of The Proud Family at SaveMyShow.com, with us Proud fans not even looking! He's the one who's treating The Proud Family like trash! Maybe he's the one you should complain to the most!

I-I'm just so bummed by this news, I don't think I can talk any more!
