This is a take from JustJack's opposite topicked post. But what cartoon, comic, or etc. would you like to see made into a live-action movie or show? (Whether you think it's technically possible or not)
Personally, I've thought for a while that it would be awesome to see them try to make Akira into a live-action flick.
A good Batman movie. MoTP or ROTJ would both make good live-action movies, particularly MoTP. That's what Batman should've been, it should've been MoTP live.

Obviously a good Batman or Superman live action movie, Akira would be really cool, Robotech could be difficult but might look cool, Speed Racer, GI Joe could be a cool war movie...

Not a darn thing. I'm sick of all these crappy live action animated movies like 101 Dalmations, Inspector Gadget, Scooby Doo, etc. etc. etc. They don't gain a single thing when they're done into live-action. Let animation be animation, dammit.

I agree...don't touch my animated movies! Nobody can really improve upon the art form by making it live action, anyway.

Yeah, Mad Hatter is right. It SO rare to find a live action movie made from a cartoon that is good.........but......
Transformers could make a really good live action movie...only..the transformers would all be CGI....and the humans were the worst part of any series..(except for the still-evolving almost-humans in beast wars..they were cute..).......hmmm..
I think G.I Joe would make a good movie as well..
And how about a new movie to go with the new Masters of The Universe toy line?! HAHA!
oh wait..the original one sucked..not much hope for a second one I guess..huh?

Ok, I am going to count the number of good live action movies that were based on animated shows....

This may sound really funny, but I've always thought "Hey Arnold!" would be really easy to turn into a live-action program. The "action" isn't too far out, the setting is fairly real too - a city school - only thing is, the characters wouldn't look nearly as odd.
I can't really imagine a movie though - that's a bit of a stretch. Generally, I agree with those who have said that live action movies based on animated programs tend to be bad - especially ones based on video games. Anyone seen that live-action Mario Bros. movie? :o I dunno, something just gets lost in the translation from animated to live, if you know what I mean...

Well the problem is studios lose sight of what made the animation/comic so good and try to turn it into a marketing machine. Now, if I knew how to direct, and I actually got to direct a cartoon-live flick, you'd see a quality piece of art.

Maybe, if they wheren't so darn cheesey! We might like them.

Okay, Transformers might work. The creators would have to be REALLY careful with it to not dumb things down for kids, but I've got to admit I would dig seeing a real-world car transform into a robot.
Apparently some other folks thought the same way, and wanted to do a flick with CGI transformers. But Hasbro scotched the idea, because it didn't fit into their toy plans.

The shows I wanted to see animated were already cartoons like Zits and Penny Arcade. Jet Grind Radio would make a good play.
Why did they never have Scarecrow in any of the live-action Batman movies, or did they?

The "New" Batgirl as a movie. That would be really awesome. I know, I also said this in the cartoon one. Sue me...

How about a fully live action version of The Phantom Menace?

I don't know if a live action Phantom Menace is possible. That would require hiring actual actors to play all those wonderful characters...and who would play Jar-Jar? Carrot-top? Chris Tucker?
(ok, shouldn't start in on Phantom Menace again...must be good)

--Daria? Of course, finding the right actress to play the titular role wouldn't be easy. She'd have to have the look of a young Christina Ricci.
Then again, I always wanted to see Inspector Gadget done live-screen, and when it was, I was very disappointed. Whose brilliant idea was it to cast Dr. Claw as a flesh-and-blood man with a metal hand? http://www.freakygamers.com/smilies/s/contrib/dvv/po.gif

I think for a Daria movie to work, you'd have to find an unknown girl to play her. Maybe the same for Jane, too, I know some people that could play her perfectly. But I got the part of slacker extrodinaire Trent Lane:p

A live-action version of the 80s girl-rock cartoon "Jem". Now, before you say that it wouldn't work, I mean to make it into a "Behind The Music" writ large...load up the flick with the excesses of the 80s, throw in graphic profanity, sex scenes, some car crashes...get some inspiration from books written by Pamela Des Barres and Motley Crue...basically, make it an R-rated trashy sleaze-fest. Mess around with the memories, see what happens.
Sincerely,
John "Captain Caps" Kilduff
