View Full Version : Poll...... Who will "pilot" the Javelin 7?

OK, assuming it's a manned ship/shuttle(what is that thing?) And that Gleek can't drive.
Based on their experience which of the 7 would be picked as most/least qualified to drive the JL bus?
Or, who'd just look coolest at the controls?

Well, here are my thoughts;
Assuming the Satellite is built either from Martian or Thanagarian tech. I'd pick MM or Hawkgirl,
While Hawkgirl I think would look the coolest(she might have that "Han Solo "space pirate" thing going on).
A; Dads driving "Hey! Keep it down in the back!" theme would play well for MM.
And I'm guessing no one will want Wally at the controls.

I don't know...if the controls can handle that kind of abuse I'd say Wally West is the man for the job. His speed would be an asset when making course corrections (especially during battles!). Actually, they'd probably all have some training behind the wheel.
Speaking of which, the League's equipment and base is probably a blend of Kryptonian, Martian, and Thanagarian technology (possibly backed by Wayne's own technology and finances).

Why not Batman? Of course, he does pilot the Batplane so I guess he'd probably stick to that as much as possible. I'd say Hawkgirl...

I'd say Superman. He's the elader of the group so it does seem a bit like a natural choice.

I don't know Superman driving something doesn't seem right in my mind. Though the idea of Flash behind the wheel getting a need for speed and throwing everyone around in the back cracks me up.

I want to say Batman but then I want Batman to be the leader of the group.

The Javelin 7 seems like the corniest thing I've heard about the show. The only members that can't fly are Batman and Flash. Flash can circle the globe in an eyeblink so a plane seems unnecessary.
They should have went with fixed transporters (station to station, not the star trek type that can beam you anywhere.)... as hokey as they are they are, they are the only thing that makes sense, IMHO, for an orbiting station, that serves as a base of operations for a quick response team.
Barring use of the transporters I'd perfer Batman to have his own batjet, and Green Lantern to transport the team in a power bubble most of the time.
If they were deadset against transporters, I think they should have given us the Hall of Justice instead of the Satellite. They do get points for not using the moon base Watchtower, whose distance, makes the Fortress of Solitude look like a trip to the corner store.

After last night's episode, I guess one thing is clear...NOT the Flash... too funny.

Well, "In Blackest Night" required the JL to use the J7. With Lantern arrested, his services could not be used. They needed a mode of transportation that could get everyone to the alien planet, which wasn't right around the corner.
Flash looks to need a tutorial on piloting the J7. Maybe Supes was just trying to give him some on the job training.
I thought Superman looked quite capable of piloting the ship.

Howdy all,
Which of the team members actually needs the Javelin-7? GL can fly in space with his ring, so he obviously doesn't. Batman, the Flash, and Hawkgirl are fundamentally human, so I'm guessing they definitely do.
That leaves Superman, Wonder Woman, and J'onn. I'm guessing Superman can hold his breath long enough for a trip to the satellite. Can WW do the same? Can J'onn do the same thing as Superman?

In the animated show Superman can't breathe in space. That leaves Green Lantern as the only one who can travel through space unaided, so the Javelin 7 is a necessity (and he can't be in every episode--what it something else happens on Rigel 7?).

Umm...in the COMIC none of them can breathe in space. Superman, J'onn and Wonder Woman are capable of holding their breath...but not that long...and in regards to Superman driving...it would appear that the new Superman design doesn't have to push off stuff. He can just change course in midair. In the old STAS series, he couldn't do that. And remember how he piloted his spaceship?

J'onn should fly it. In the JLA comic, the League got a hold of Martian spaceships after beating the White Martians. J'onn was always the first one to pilot those, he just seems like the most natural choice. Plus he did a nice job last night.

I feel like Wonder Woman should, just because I used to see her pilot the invisible jet and the justice league space ship in one of the later renditions of superfriends. I think I also see her as the pilot because Rogue piloted the Blackbird whenever Cyclops wasn't in X-men too and she had superstrength and flight. Other people I can see flying the Javelin-7 as well is Martian Manhunter and Hawkgirl. Heh, can't see the Flash flying it though. :p

I think J'onn or Superman would make good pilots.

Don't GLs use an aura that lets them breathe in space? They do spend prolonged periods of time flying around in oxygen-free environments.

Yeah, but that's ring-created. They can't fling themselves into space and breathe on their own.

Yeah, he could. The instances when he didn't were when his powers were depleted to the point of not being able to.

Also, in S:TAS, Superman had this nifty armor he donned whenever he had to spend any length of time in space. It looked great, made Superman seem more techno-savvy, and is a great-looking S:TAS action figure. :D

I think Superman would need to use the JAVELIN unless he uses his space suit. Man, I sure do miss that Space suit...a nice spiffy design...

I say let flash learn to pilot the Javelin 7 .
Put some use into him, So far he's pretty much useless in the battle field except for comic relief and getting the other's out of harm's way

Actually, Lodoos, you do make a great point. He woukd actually make a good pilot for the ship if he just learned how to pilot it.

I agree DG, and with his super speed the flash would be a wiz on the controls once he learns to fly the damn thing. :)

I'd say primarily the Flash or Batman (you'd need at least a primary and a backup) as they're non flyers.

Batman - also a good choice. Heck - he probably ponied up the money for the ship. The least he could do is be allowed to pilot it!

He's got plenty of flying experience with the Batwing anyway...

First, obviously Flash needs to pilot the J7, especially if it makes him so nervous that he'll keep quiet once in a while. :)
Second, if Flash won't do it, and Batman won't for sure (Pointyears needs to stay on Earth, I have a big steaming pile of old 50s & 60s Batman comics for those who say otherwise), and WW doesn't have her license yet... well, that leaves the League only one option...
DRAFT PLAS!
Sorry. Couldn't resist. Well, I could, but what would be the fun in that? :D
