There's been hundreds everywhere on every cartoon channel. Here are twelve of the most dorky.

Another thread where we bash each others favorite cartoons...:(

....and with the addition of the poll, and a note about technical troubles that were had... I declare this thread open!

Let's see some clean talk. If I see any show bashing or flame baiting, it won't be pretty. Now get out there and vote!:D

I would have to say Pokemon. Because that show is overrated now and It's been on since 1998 and I thought they've cancelled by now. Plus the first few seasons were good and later the show went downhill from there. Now I find it very boring now. this is just my opinion. NEVER mention anything terrible about Rocko's Modern Life , Doug, or the Angry Beavers. Can someone remove those from the list?

Rocko's Modern Life, the PPG, The Angry Beavers and Doug are all excellent shows that should not come within a 15 mile radius of a "Terriblest Show?" thread.

Furthermore, terriblest is not a word.

Mr. Pedro

Yakity Yak.

With every other show, I could at least tolerate them. Doug and RML are classics in my opinion. Grim and Evil is pretty good. Pokemon is nothing more than a 25-minute commercial and I can tolerate that. PPG and Rugrats had their low points but nothing that got on my nerves. Beavers was okay. The rest I haven't really watched so I can't judge there.

So........, I voted for the yak show.

Nick
04-24-2004, 04:02 PM
I voted "As Told by Ginger" with "KND" coming a close second, but there are some other shows which I consider much much worse. "The Wacky World Of Tex Avery" (possibly the worse cartoon ever), "Baby Looney Tunes", "Sylvester And Tweety Mysteries", "Quack Pack", "Tom And Jerry Kids", "The New Woody Woodpecker Show", "Cow and Chicken", "Sheep in The Big City", "The Wild Thornberries", "Captain Planet", "My Little Pony", "Yo Yogi", "Yogi's Space Race", "Flintstones Kids", "Chip And Dale Rescue Rangers", "Yogi Bear's Treasure Hunt" (why does Yogi, Snagglepuss, Top Cat and the rest have to be in these pieces of crap?), "The Pebbles And Bam Bam Show", any show based on toys and "Duck Dodgers" all come to mind.

Lord Dalek

Since someone is asking...
What were they thinking with Robot Jones?
It's like an homage to some of the worst animation in history.
Didn't it get introduced in a viewer choice contest, and lost? Wasn't that enough to tell them nobody wanted to ever see it again?
The only remotely clever thing about it was the use of the synthesized voice, so they naturally erased any evidence it ever existed.

Neve saw Yakity Yak or the Twins.

*Votes for Robot Jones*
You goober! How *DARE* You put Angry Beavers on there! That show Rocks ya like a Hurricane! *Turns on the Song*
I also Hate As Told By Ginger but I cannot Vote Twice. But what REALLY stinks is Codename:Kids Next Door!

If you're talking about Rugrats post-1997, then I'd agree that's "most dorky". But the episodes before that are great.

Even Rocko's Modern Life, which you could argue took a slight dip in quality in the 4th season, is still funnier than most of the new Nicktoons today. Seasons 1-3 are utter classics, the way they satirize everyday events and have memorable, unique characters. NO WAY that should be on the list.

But I don't really like As Told By Ginger and Yakkity Yak, so I guess I can agree with the "most dorky" comment on those.

Out of all the shows the CrampTwins leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Other shows that need to be on this list are QuackPack, Bonkers,Cow and Chicken(though I liked the IMWeasle), Yogi's Arc and Superfriends(the hour-long eco-friendly one with the dog).

Dudley
04-24-2004, 11:51 PM
Out of that list:

I've never seen Xialin Showdown nor Yakkity Yak.
Powerpuff Girls is okay.
I prefer watching Pokemon undubbed, to avoid dumb dialogue.
I don't hate the Cramp Twins.
Robot Jones, is, well, boring.
Rocko's Modern Life and the Angry Beavers are one of Nickelodeon's funniest Nicktoons.
As Told by Ginger. I don't hate it, but I would watch it if nothing better is on.
Doug...is cliche driven. I can't remember which version is better.
And Grim and Evil, is dumb, slow, and boring.

What I don't like:
all Dragonball series
Fat Dog Mendoza
Ren and Stimpy
Beyblade
just to name a few.

Edit: And Rugrats best seasons were 2 and 3. And from htere it got worse and worse and worse....

How dare you put Rocko,Angry Beavers, and Grim and Evil!

GOOD-
Rocko- classic comedy, as opposed to the retarded, 4-year old enticing, comedy **** they have now

Angry Beavers- The ONLY Nick show with inside jokes that I've ever seen. Classic.

G&E- Its well...O.K...but it sure as heck dosnt deserve to be in the "worst" category

BAD-

Xiaolin Showdown - never heard of it...but it sounds bad...

Powerpuff Girls - Its okay, but still deserves to be considered 'bad'

Rugrats - Lets talk post-1997 shall we? I never knew how a four letter word could destroy a good series...that word being D I L L

Pokemon - My god, I wasnt really a fan of it that much when all my other classmates were absolutely freakin' gaga over the anime crap!

The Cramp Twins - Never heard of em....

Whatever Happened To Robot Jones? - It has good points...but mostly bad. number one, it looks like a 4 year old drew it...two it L O S T the cartoon summer contest thingy, so I dont know why its on CN in the first place!

As Told By Ginger - ok...I dont like this show because of only ONE reson... Scenerio: "Ooooh! (insert hottest guy in school's name) dumped me! Waaa! I think I'll go ***** to my mom about it, then tell all my freinds, then write it in my diary, basicly let the whole friggin' world know!"

Yakkity Yak - Dont get me started...

Doug - Its not funny, its not smart, and sometimes I question Doug's brain cell count...

The original Doug series (Nickelodeon) was interesting, had some enjoyable episodes but also some stupid ones as well. But overall wasn't a bad series.

The later Disney series was interesting when it begin airing, especially if you had watched the original. But over time it just got stupider and the movie is a piece of crap.

I voted Rugrats simply cause it's about babies, all the time, it's obviously like a toddler's cartoon.

Look's like Pokemons winning. Good.

Whoever thought these are the worst of the Worst, well I got some that are even worse then this..and believe me I can go back to the 1960's...and move forward..

back in the Sixties the worst idea there was a Japanese Style Anime looking one about a Boy who befriends 3 Aliens sent to Earth to just observe.. and believe me the aliens took on Animal forms..and it's probably the worst idea ever... The Amazing 3...(One of the Aliens was a Horse one a Rabbit and the Third (who was always a Hothead, a Duck!)

Then of course Moving Forward..we had another toon which really was a Spinoff of a Hit.. Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space..(Alright Josie and the Pussycats (The Original) Was fun)..but then when the Space Program heated up, they sent this poor Rock Group into Outer space..(Stupidest Character was Bleep, a Furball of an alien who could only Bleep rather then talk)

Moving Forward yet again into the Late 70's and Early 80's you had some rather Lame Ideas..(Plasticman springs to mind..Sure the Guy could Stretch, but when they brought in Baby Plas, that when the Show Croaked..)

and of course Don't Forget Pirates of Darkwater.. 13 episodes that were so lame, you couldn't get any worse..except Maybe for Gilligan's Planet.

Right around 1976.. here came, The Funky Phantom, and later in the Late 70's Fangface, Roman Holidays, and Those were the Days..(Why a Cartoon was every produced to talk about life 100 years ago was beyond my comprehension!)

As you rolled into the 70's and Early 80's yet again, Laff-a-lympics, and Yogi's Space Race topped the Bottom...

Really during the 80's you couldn't go without finding a bad cartoon. in fact Dinosaucers was the worst..(Talking INTELLIGENT Dinosaurs? uh huh how oxymoronic can this get?)

But if you have to choose from the List, I would say the Worst of the worst would be probably Doug...(Actually Like Rugrats (pre-1997)) the show idea was okay but after the Walt Disney Company released.. Brand Spanking New Doug, it got Cliche real fast! of course there was also Pepper Ann, perhaps the worst theme song, (The Person singing couldn't sing on Key..(Maybe She was Tone deaf. but that was perhaps the Worst..)

As of Late though, Shows have been improving but besides Doug, Pokemon has been Beaten to Death way too much, it's as Cliche as Doug..but for Good Reason...(Blame it on the Electric Rodent, Pikachu!)

All in all This List really isn't representative of the last 40 Years.. and believe me, Doug Just was lame!.. and Pokemon, too much hype.. and Yes, I remember Hammertime..(MC Hammer, you're great as a Singer.. Just don't animate yourself..) and then of course Just Recently came.. Dave the Barbarian..(Anyone want to "Cut a Muffin?" I thought not...)

But all in all My vote Goes to Doug 1st, Pokemon 2nd, and finally... taking 3rd, in my book is a tie... Cat/Dog, and Ed, Edd, and Eddy...but as long as you got good cartoons and shows, you're bound to have, some Lemons..

Nuff Said,

:coyote:

Putting Cramp Twins in the same league of mediocrity as these other shows invalidates the integrity of this poll.

I've seen most of those shows, and they all feature children in primary roles and greeting card character designs (which shouldn't bother anyone reared on Charles Schultz' Peanuts).

Cramp Twins goes far deeper into the psychology of its characters than the other shows I've seen on this list. Doug and Rugrats have their moments, but they aren't as imaginative as Cramp Twins' best.

The worst of these shows might be Rocko, because the only thing I remember about the show was something about "Foot Fungi", and that the show was weak.

Heck, just for laffs I'll give a vote. Out of all the ones I've seen, I'd say "Pokémon", but before Duke and Dudley beat me up, I only mean the American version, which is truly painful to watch. I'm never gonna forgive 4Kids for what they did to the first season that's upheld to now - horrible voice casting, replacing Japanese names (Satoshi becomes Ash, Kasumi becomes Misty, etc.), removing as many traces of Japanese culture as humanly possible, and writing their own jokes into the script. Probably the worst example of the latter crops up in "Pokémon: The First Movie", as Jessie and James, cheaply disguised as vikings, transport Ash, Misty, and Brock to New Island by boat:

BROCK: I didn't even know Vikings existed anymore.
ASH: I think they mostly live in Minnesota.

McCracken PPG, Pokemon, Doug, Angry Beavers, Robot Jones, Grim and Evil, pre-Dil Rugrats, and MOST DEFINITELY Rocko do not belong on that list.

Nintendo called her Misty is the American version of Pokemon Red/Blue so you can't blame 4Kids for that (same with the other name changes for the gym leaders, Pokemon, & cities).

The worst show I can think of right now is X-Duckx; a french cartoon about two ducks that are on Xtreme sports. It's basically Rocket Power, Donald Duck and Beavis & Butthead in a freakin' blender. The backgrounds and character designs were horrible, and the humor was stupid.

"BABY Looney Tunes"? is that like the malformed illegitimate offspring of Tiny Toons or something? I though that show was pretty good back in the day, but yeah, must agree with Pokemon - it gives anime a bad name. At least Digimon tries to tell a half-decent story and isn't poulated entirely by zero-dimensional characters who couldn't act their way out of a paper bag... Oh, did anyone think that the Leblanc syndicate in FFX-2 were a blatant pastiche of Team Rocket? Hmm, only me huh?
