A two parter to end the series, written by Evan Dorkin? Excellent! But Livewire...?

I dunno I think I've lost all faith in the Superman Adventures its been consistently bad I'm still kicking myself for subscribing to it rather than subscribing to BB. yeah i know BB's already done.

I don't know about recent quality, but I'll buy just about anything written by Evan Dorkin and Sarah Dyer.

I hate to see it go, but this is a good way to finish up SA's run. And Livewire's appearance is an added bonus...

This book being canceled is a total injustice. The greater injustice is the seeming mission by DC to *ensure* that it would get canceled.
TAS is such a wonderful alternative to mainline and until mainline wises up and has the balls to admit that Dini and Timm had it right, then we *need* a Superman Adventures title.

TAS is such a great alternative becuase we'r enot balled down with continuity. It is pretty hard to get fully up to speed on any mainstream SUPERMAN title. But with SUPERMAN ADVENTURES, it's really easy to know what's going on without having to buy three crossovers and a trade paperback.

That's what I've always liked about the animated shows and books. They've got their own universe, so to speak...

I think I'll buy 65 & 66, since they're the last issues. Come to think of it I haven't bought an issue of Superman Adventures since Rick Burchett stopped doing covers.

You've missed some great stories. I recommend you back track and pick up issue #41 - argueably the best issue of the entire series.

I too was dissapointed when I heard Livewire was the star. But I have a feeling that the real villian in this two parter is Darkseid. I mean, the cover makes it pretty obvious. Plus, Darkseid does fit the description of "an enemy that can engulf even Luthor". Anyways, what matters is if the story is good, and it better be!!!
See ya!

Although issue #41 was very unqiue, enjoyable and one you should pick up, I very highly recommend these issues as well:
#21
Entitled "Last Daughter of Argo", this whirlwind, double-sized issue tells the story of Kara-Inze's life, from the moment Argo was blasted out of orbit, to her final farewell to her mother, to her adopted home on Earth, to her first experience as Supergirl to finally facing the fears of her past, kicking the butts of some familiar faces and coming to terms with her new life. A must read with amazing art (Bret Blevins) and an award-worthy story.
Assuming you picked up #22 and #23 since they had covers by Rick Burchett (if you haven't read them- DO!!!!!)
#25
When Bruce Wayne is taken hostage by the Mad Hatter, who's only demand is the cowl of the Bat, Superman must intervein to save the life of his friend. But what does Batgirl have to say about it? Loaded with cameos from Batman: Gotham Adventures characters, this stand alone issue features wonderful artwork (Mike Manley) and a clever team-up storyline that keeps you turning the pages (and wishing that B: GA was half this good!)
#30 and #31
Superman is knocked into another dimension where he learns that Clark Kent has gone missing for an entire year. The surprises keep coming in this epic two-parter that finds Superman returning to his roots, unknowingly, at the cost of the planet and the people he holds most dear. These two issues are, arguably, superstar Aluir Amancio's best artwork.
#39
When Supergirl and Superman bring back some Argoan technology after putting her dead relatives to rest, they learn that Krypton and Argo shared a closer link than they thought as Kara must go face-to-face with a ghost from her past. The team from issue #21 return to conclude Supergirl's introduction into Superman Adventures in a chilling yet heart-warming issue.
I know you could have just read all the summaries on the Toonzone webpages, but I just had to let you know about what you've missed out on. I have always been a devoted Batman Adventures fan, but after reading these splendiferous (the highest DisneyBoy praise!) stories, I came to terms with the fact that this series had surpassed Gotham Adventures' less-than-stellar recent run. Superman Adventures will be deeply missed.

Ah! The issue originally solicitated as a SUPERGIRL ADVENTURES one-shot to follow up the awesome BATGIRL one-shot. I agree - very well done. While the art in this issue isn't my favorite, this story had me completely. I would have love to have seen this animated becuase it added so much to the "Little Girl Lost" story. This is a great companion peice to the episode.

How perfect of an issue was this? The art was spectacular and the twist at the end was very, very nice. All the hints were there, too! Whenever I go back and re-read ther story -- all the hints are there! This was definatly a strong team up iossue which addressed a couple issues that the previous team ups left unanswered.

The best two parter of the series bar-none. Mark Millar does a great job on this issue giving us great character twists. Luthor goes straight! Lois finds a new man! The world moves on! I love how Millar just through everything out the window and twisted it around. This is THE two-parter of the series.
I also recommend Superman Adventures #6. Metropolis is destroyed and Superman is given one chance to set it right and figure out what he did wrong, thanks to Mxy. With breath taking visuals by Rick Burchett and a great ending, this is one not to be missed.
My second favorite two parter is, without a doubt Superman Adventures #11 & 12. When Superman falls ill due to Kryptonite poisoning, Lois must race around the world to find a cure. Meanwhile, a stubborn Superman still continues to fight crime even though bullets can now peirce his skin. And what does old Lexie boy have to do with this?
