I was thinking the producers of the JLA cartoon network show should definitely have Shazam ( a.k.a. Captain Marvel) and Plastic-Man as guests, anyone agrees?

Definitely Captain Marvel! I grew up with the old Shazam series of the 70s. But, I don't know about Plastic Man. He always weirded me out!

Bruce Timm and company are having difficulties grabbing the rights to the Marvel family. If they had them, I suspect we would have already seen them. Want Captain Marvel on the show all you want, but without the rights Bruce Timm is powerless to do anything about it.
As for Plasticman, who knows. I wouldn't mind seeing him, and I haven't heard a reason why he hasn't shown up.
Plastic-Man would be a hassle to animate, especially if they want his design and animation to fit in right. He'd either be too stiff-looking or contrast with the animation style, IMO.

And, Plastic Man seems waaay too much of a Super Friends-like character to me. Sorry, comics fans, this DCAU fan wants to keep the corniness to a minimum...
(I didn't care for Jack on Justice League's "Wild Cards" or the stretch guy on Batman Beyond's "Heroes" either...)

Well, if you're arguing that "Plaz" wouldn't be animated right, I'd like to point out almost any appearance of Clayface in the DCAU... They could do it (but, I'd admit it they could as reasonably do it badly, but the possibility exists and has been shown they "can" do it well) You're talking trash if you think they "couldn't"...
Aside, they're two of my favorite characters... "Plaz" and "Shazam" (Capt.Marvel)... I've accepted that neither of them will (for whatever reasons) appear on JL but I would love to see 'em both before Timm's encarnation of DC closes. (heck, PlasticMan only even made a breif cameo on Superfriends... Capt. Marvel, to my knowledge, has never been seen animated or live-action on TV with any of "The 7" main JL'ers of our generation [Supes, Bats, WW, Flash, GL, Aquaman, or MM])
I guess, for the most part, either of them would be a bit redundant with the current roster (although I don't see that this is much of an issue compared to the 60 or so guests for season 3) Hey, ...maybe it could happen (as I would weep a tear of happiness)
BTW... PlasticMan is in dire need of an updated look. I mean, ...a long-sleeved red crotch-snuggy!?! ...barefeet but no toes!?! ...Shoes, maybe? ...Pants, perhaps? ...He wears a bare-thighed costume I'd rather not see on any male superhero. Hell, "Robin" wears pants these days! follow suit ;)

Shazam ( a.k.a. Captain Marvel)
<pet peeve>
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH! :)
Shazam is not also known as Captain Marvel. Captain Marvel is the guy in the red costume and white cape. Shazam is the old wizard with the beard and the robes. They are two completely different characters!

Yes, the word "Shazam!" has been used to sell toys and comics that feature the character of Captain Marvel thanks to the evil Marvel Comics trademarking the name "Captain Marvel", but that is in no way meant to suggest that Captain Marvel's name is Shazam, when Shazam is the name of the guy who gave him his powers.
Superman stars in "Action Comics" but I have not yet heard anybody talk about their favorite hero Action (aka Superman). Batman stars in Detective Comics but I have not yet heard anybody talk about their favorite hero Detective (aka Batman). Clark Kent stars on the TV show "Smallville" and yet (despite what Lois Lane in "Lois and Clark" might have you believe), Smallville is *not* the name of Clark Kent.
Thus, I don't want to see Shazam in a starring role on the JL cartoon, but seeing Captain Marvel in a starring role on the JL cartoon would be a different matter entirely.
Shazam = wizard
Captain Marvel = superhero.

The only animated appearance of Capt. Marvel (*not* "Shazam") was for one season in 1981-82 as part of a Filmation-produced show called "the Kid Super Power Hour" (IIRC, it was about a bunch of teens with superpowers attending a superhero school to learn how to become superheroes---a la "Acme Looniversity" on "Tiny Toons"). I think it must've been on at the same time as the Superfriends/Bugs Bunny-Roadrunner Show, since I never watched it...

My, someone is a little bitter! You make excellent points. But, Raul al Gaul (spelling?) does call Batman "detective."

I don't know much about either character but I would LOVE to see them appear. Doesn't it seem like Captain Marvel lives in his own universe though? (Talking tigers and what-not.)

He actually use to be in another universe before Crisis but now he is firmly planted in the same universe as all the other mainstream dc heroes. I'm not familiar with any talking tiger but one of his adversaries is a talking worm (Mr. Mind).

:sad:While Plastic Man is a comical character by nature he cannot really be described as corny. He has a serious side, a personality, and depth to him that could work. And hell his origin story could make a great episode alone. Honestly Superfriends in animation and writing was and is way below Plastic Man and his dare I say greatness.
Anyway isn't the Elongated Man supposed to be on JLU?

If they ever do Plas I always thought Steve Bushcemi would make a great voice actor for the character. He's not that bad of although he is silly acting most times. He actually has a fairly interesting history as a hero who once was a criminal.
Patrick Bateman

I'd personally like to see them both. With the upcoming JLU, I'd say your chances are pretty high to get just what you're asking for.:)
