I third that as well, folks. Believe me these next 4 eps are perhaps the Focal Point of the whole series and explain a lot.

Ah, the first appearence of Puck. Sweetness.
Heh, Goliath should go "nonono" more often.

Ah yes, Puck... the 'harmless' trickster. This is one of the best episodes of the series.
The transformations could have been simple aesthetic changes. But the writers went one step further and made it more than that. "We were always gargoyles." "We must have had wings at some point..." Those litte extra steps taken can make the good stuff even better.
I loved the scenes in the subway, when Goliath and the others 'blend in' with the other gargoyles. The human versions of the clan were well done, too.
Yessir... great episode.

The "I've always been a Gargoyle/human" lines were obviously done to make sure the city folks wouldn't remember what happened. A brilliant touch.
One of the best, espescially the end where Demona is delighted to feel the sun but horrified moments later. That is a classic Gargoyles twist.
The start of a potential relationship between Goliath and Elisa was smart. The ending was so bittersweet, with Elisa acknowledging the sparkage to herself but realizing it wouldn't work. Starcrossed lovers, much?
I'm glad Xanatos wasn't in this episode. It would have ruined it.
The animation was superb this episode. Everything was just perfect. Nothing more to say, that won't involve me getting into spoilers. Just this is a great series. *****.

I disagree I would have loved to see Garg versions of Xanatos, Fox et al. However, I realize why they didn't. BUt it still would have been cool.
I love how the Humangargs were all still clothed relatively naturally, nowonder those three babes int he subway were checking out the Clan, they're walking around half naked!
Slightly off topic: Why was it that they didn't credit Fox's voice actress till alomst the end of the seires, for that matter, who was she again, i don't remember

for that matter, who was she again, i don't remember
Laura San Giancomo (sp?). She is probably best known for her role in "Just Shoot Me." I don't know the answer to your other question.

You got to admire Demona, she always has a Plan B. She demonstrates how a villian is suppose to use his or her hired thugs.
And though Puck was able to play Demona like a fiddle for most of the episode, he was unable to trick her completely. For example; Puck lied and said he was too tired to work any magic, but Demona noted how he still had enough power to keep himself from drawing anyone's attention, and he was forced to admit that he only needed to catch his breath.
This episode is 5 stars for sure. And I love the twist at the end.
I wonder if Puck could hear that scream from where he works at in the city. (It is WAY too soon to blow that spoiler). :D

Not to mention having her hover thru the subway with her wings closed, while Lex, Broadway and Brooklyn lost momentum in the hallway.

And that's what Make her Great.. After all if Dr. Drakken did that with his Henchmen and Shego in Kim Possible just Like Demona did in Gargoyles, Dr. Drakken would be unstoppable. However while Demona Had a Blan B, Puck had a Plan C.. as in See what happens when you get what you wish for?
And though Puck was able to play Demona like a fiddle for most of the episode, he was unable to trick her completely.
That's true about unable to tricking her, but as for Playing her Like a Fiddle? No He didn't play her like a fiddle, He Played her like the New York Philharmonic!:D

Again hilarious as I laughed at the Joke about Turning Bronx into a Chihuahua (I could imagine two worst case scenarios for the Gargoyle Dog).
1. Bronx Coming out a Chihuahua who said.. Stimpy, You Ee-di-ot! look what you did to me! :D
or
2. Bronx Coming out Looking like a Chihuahua and saying.. Yo Quero Taco Bell!:D
Oh definitely Puck should have opted for the Chihuahua!
This episode is 5 stars for sure. And I love the twist at the end.

Demona: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
The Bottom Line:
in short this is a Classic with Brent Spiner doing Puck's Voice ,and Demona getting the short end of the stick. It's sad that they took this story and left us knowing the outcome, where
Elisa realises that she's in love with Goliath.. or so what the writers want us to believe!
believe me two words sum up this episode.
PUCK ROCKS!
5 Star Rating-- Solid Fun!!!!

All hail Puck! I've been waiting for this episode. He's such a great character for a "harmelss trickster" and its fun watching him put a spin on everything Demona wishes for. I liked the attention to detail with the gargoyles as humans and vice versa; the human clan was exactly how I would have pictured them. The one thing I didn't like was the Goliath/Elisa hints. Their relationship never did anything for me.
One thing I particularly liked, having finally watched this episode again: if you listen to the dialogue carefully, Puck's connection to You-Know-Who is given away. ;)

One of my all time favorites...I love this episode. The human Gargoyles, Garg Eliza, Human Demona, just all around fun. That one line of Demona's does hint heavily, dosen't it? And Puck's spells didn't just transform people physically, but altered reality so they had always been that way.
I would have liked if they had cut Xanatos in Gargole form, if just for a second...

Well the rest of the scene dealing with Demona would probably go something like this. And yes, Brent Spiner RULES as Puck.
On one of the castle ledges facing the east, atop the Eyrie Building, Owen served Xanatos his morning cup of coffee. As David watched the sun rise from from the depths of the Atlantic Ocean, Xanatos suddenly asked, "Owen, did you just hear something?"
Owen replied in deadpan tone of voice, "No sir. Nothing as all."
"Alright, carry on," Xanatos said.
As Owen turned around and was no longer facing Xanatos, he cracked the slightest of grins on his chiseled face.

Unfortunately, if they had done that it would have spoiled "The Gathering" two part episode.
I for one like where they ended this episode, it leaves so much to the imagination.

I for one like where they ended this episode, it leaves so much to the imagination.Indeed, but what really got me was the ending with Elisa and Goliath.. and you know what that does.. sets up a whole world of Fandom that is based on this couple.. after all it's interesting to see this happen to Elisa and Goliath.. It's almost like taking it to "The Next Level"... if you know what I mean!;)
But the question that it raises because of this episode would have been.. If Gargoyles Hadn't been Cancelled after Season 3, how far would this have gone ?
Ideas?

Guys, Guys, Guys. Too many potential spoilers in this thread. The spoiler boxes are one thing but it's the "hints" I roll my eyes at. We know you KNOW, okay? Just try to picture figuring out Gargoyles' surprises from internet chatter before the first time you saw "The Gathering". Now that I've put that horrific image in your head, please be more considerate to people like Knux Five who deserve to have their jaws dropped.

Hell of an episode, I'd go into specifics but I don't wanna give away too much but the other great thing about this episode was the amount of "what ifs" it spawned, particularly when it dealt with other characters as Gargoyles someone did a really cool picture of Matrix and AndrAIa that way

Puck is now my favorite Gargoyles character. I don't think many things could trick Demona like he did. You've got to love a character that takes advantige of vague wishes. Anyway, this has got to be one of the best episodes of Gargoyles that I've seen. Very cool twist at the end with Demona. Her line about the sun and her following scream sound like they came right out of a horror movie.
Anyway, I hope we see more of Puck in this series.

The moral of the story: when dealing with the third race, choose your words carefully, when given leeway on meanings Fey tend to be right up there with lawyers in the "taking your words and hanging you with them" department

I am not so sure about that, I think more or less, Puck was doing 'damage control' when dealing with Demona's wishes. Sure, he wanted to have some fun, but he did not want to kill anyone. Also, I think the reason Puck applied the pain factor to Demona's transformations is because at the end of the episode, Puck felt insulted with Demona brushing off and not accepting his gift of not turning to stone by day.

For those wondering why she didn't feel pain, Puck wanted to have Demona be fully surprised about hero transformation. For that reason he supressed the pain this one time.

No, but that 80's mop-top and her usual gargoyle garb does throw you.
When Demona takes on the human alias, Dominique Destine, to run Nightstone, she starts putting her hair in a more pulled back conservative style, that and the dresses she starts wearing as human lets her give off a more refined since of taste.

Fun fact, Greg Weisman got his start in animation by writing an episode of Jem. He didn't do the Gargoyles character designs though so it is probably jsut a coincidence.
