And thus ends the 13 year era of Turner Popeye shows featuring redrawns. I remember seeing the Popeye show that Turner aired for syndication in 1988. I remember two cartoons in the first episode. One was "King of the Mardi Gras" and the other was Jitterbug Jive, with a weird soundtrack, sounded like everyone was on helium.

EVERY cartoon in that program was sped up so they could squeeze 4 cartoons into a half hour. I recorded "Females is Fickle" and timed it; it was nearly an entire minute shorter than the "normal" version I taped off TBS. (I wish I'd taped "Popeye's Pappy"; that show was the only time I've seen it.)
