Hello again, fan friends. It's new Fresh Question time! Ready. Steady! Go!
This one is pretty straight forward, folks, especially for those of you Batfans who are car freaks. If you aren't, it doesn't matter, cuz this is all about Bat-style! Think long and hard, spanning as many Batman universes as is necessary for your decision, and tell me:
What is your favorite Batmobile of all time?? Why???

i love the tnba batmobile, but it's not without it's set of quirks. i love the live action batmobile in the first batman film, and the tnba has a nod to it while still having it's own design elements. i've noticed when the wheels spin, there's a flickering bat design which is cool, watch as the batmobile leaves from wayne manor in Old Wounds, it's in pretty clear view there. i didn't really notice this until i drew it, but the lighting on the batmobile hits from the side, which has a sort of mirroring black and grey shadows. the design is meant to be backlit, or in this case, side lit. i've seen eps where it's more like a roadster with no jet engine in the back, and i've seen eps with the jet engine. i dunno, i love the jet engine but i don't think it works on the tnba batmobile, draws closer references to the live action one, which i don't like. the tnba batmobile is a compromise of sorts.
i love the batman beyond batmobile, ranks second for me. very cool design, reminds me of the Mantis's car in his short lived live action series (where i think Carl Lumby was the star of?). i love the exposed circuitry, the curves and angles of it are very cool overall. the lighting inside the batmobile really works, love the extreme red lighting with the stark white shapes here and there, basically mirroring the colors on terry's costume.
i think of the btas batmobile in it's own league, i don't want to compare, it has a sentimental place for me. when i think of the batmobile, this springs to mind first. i love how long it is, it's bordering on too long, but it works. i love the vents in the front and the tubing on the center of the hood. i do like the interiors of the tnba batmobile better, over the btas's seemingly hand painted interior. the tnba interior had the blue lights and screens, which worked very well, i like the idea of the stark black panels with the blue screens. but none the less, the btas batmobile is in a league of it's own.
i prefer a car over a military vehicle with huge wheels anyday... tumbler...pffft...

The M.A.N.T.I.S. existed in something besides a Live Action show? Which was, IMHO, cancelled too soon, btw. I'd love to see more of Doctor...Hawkins, was it? It's been so long, I can hardly remember.
EDIT: I'm in for the B:TAS Batmobile, for all the reasons you stated. That, and it was just so sweet seeing Bullock get hauled into it in "Bullet for Bullock." :)

I really like the BTAS Batmobile but my all-time favorite is still the one from the first live-action movie. That car just screams power in it's design with it's huge turbine-look down the center. I also like the twin Vickers, shields, and the scene with the grappler for cornering.
OTOH, I hate what they did to the car in the second movie. Well, for that matter, I never cared for any of the live-action films after the first one. And the car for the third movie and beyond were awful. I don't even think of them as Batmobiles really.
I don't remember the episode name but there was one in BTAS where he uses the Batmobile to stop a runaway streetcar. I always thought it was funny that the wingtips could be retracted. :D Great scene, BTW.

Definitely the one in "Batman Forever" with the car from the first Michael Keaton Batman running a close second. When I first saw that car, it rekindled a childhood fantasy of mine to take the Batmobile on a joyride.

My favorite Batmobile is the Adam West car from the 60s TV show. I also like the Batmobile from Batman: TAS. They are both cool and very different.

My favorite is the TNBA B-Mobile. It has a really cool jet black look rather than the blue on the B:TAS/TAoB&R B-Mobile. It looks like it has a lot of power (which it does) and the battering ram on the front looks really awesome! The TNBAMobile is just as much of a symbol of fear to criminals as Batman himself is!

I think the one from the first two movies works the best in terms of iconic power and real-life handling. However, I'm also partial to the one Jean Paul Valley drove back when he was Azbats, which had a very sleek, modern-looking design (it was blown up at the end of Knightsend, at which point the Sprang-era Batmobile came back).
I'm probably better off asking this on the comic book board, but I'll put it here: how many batmobiles have there been in the comics? Has there been a certain number, or do artists generally draw their own without paying attention to continuity?

The original Batmobile from the first Burton film. It just can not be topped.
When I first started picking up The Batman Adventures, I was struck by how strange and long the B:TAS Batmobile was. In fact, I've never even been interested in buying the toy version of it. The TNBA Batmobile just doesn't appeal to me at all, thanks to that bizarre retro Bat-face on the front. Too wierd. The 60s Batmobile is just a blue car and came before my time...the other ones in the other two live action films were just...different, though the Forever car at least suited the look of the film, and had some nifty scenes. That other one? I guess it also suited the film it was in because they both stank.
Bones Justice, why did you feel that they'd ruined the Batmobile in the second film, if I may ask? The only real difference between the two was that the car split apart in BR.

I just didn't like the gimmick of it splitting in two. The car was a war-machine in the first movie and was reduced to a throw-away in the second one.
It wasn't as bad as the next one being able to drive up walls, though. And that next one, besides looking bad, had wings that obviously wobbled as it drove around.
Do you remember how MTV gave away one of the cars from the first film? I always wondered what happened to it. Never saw it on ebay, anyways.
