Anyone have or watched this movie? Give me some insights.

I've been reading pretty good reviews on it and it's sounds interesting.

It's one of my favorite movies. Panchito is one of my fave characters, but sadly I think this is his only appearance save for a House of Mouse episode he was in. Basically it's Donald's B-day and his Latino friends send him some presents and teach him about their culture. Near the end though it seems Donald's had one too many cervezas if ya know what I mean. ;)

There's lots of good music and colorful animation. It may seem a bit weird at first, but one thing to remember is that this is a WW2 propoganda film. It makes more sense if you know that. Either way though it's a really fun movie and you get to hear Panchito sing! He's really good. So hurry up and watch it already!

Thanks for the opinions guys. :) Yeah,I read that Donald is a wolf and chases all the chicas around.

I really dug the way Panchito did his "family tree" song n that one House of Mouse episode. So now I'm anxious to get it.

It's not in the vault yet, right?

I just really enjoyed how the western hemisphere was represented. Da wesssides da best siiiide! Ya know, how Panchito represents South America. José represents Central (if you try and point out Mexico's part of North America I will slap you) And how Donald represents North America. The movie really makes us feel as if America includes all three continents (if central is a continent) not just one nation.

It's a great film, the only problem is the plot. Donald gets a birthday gift from Mexico, big whoop. :D

The Three Caballeros (and its companion piece, Saludos Amigos) was made as part of FDR's "open door" policy toward Latin America during WWII(and because Disney's European markets were cut off because of the war) which would explain why these films were made.

I'm glad they were. :) Because Jose rocks. I guess Panchito does too,but I have to see him in action in the movie first. :)

My parents rented that for me and my sister back in the early 80s when I was just a wee tyke of 8. The Donald stuff was fun but some of the more "creative stuff" bored me so I hit the fastforward to get to the good stuff. I watched it again a few years ago and I felt the same. The more animated a scene was the better it was. Loved Donald.

They really should have put "Saludos Amigos" on the same disc. It's similar but with less (none maybe?) plot although it's a LOT shorter. They'd go well back to back. Might as well get them together if you're eventually going to buy it.

I thought the vault was only for the more famous movies. So both of these are available somewhere (I checked some online stores) and should be so for the foreseeable future. Unless you want the unedited laserdiscs with the smoking and have a several hundred spare bucks laying around. I wonder how much the unedited VHS tapes are? Anyway I don't even think "Sleeping Beauty" gets the vault treatment. Maybe someone can give a more definative answer.

I have to say I'm not a hugh fan of this movie either. It just gets really werid at the end for no reason (I think the people behind it couldn't think of a way to end it). I also feel the sequence with the Cookie Lady drags on forever. Everything else is fine though.

Not one of the best package features but not the worst.

I have the tape, watched it three or four times as a child, and hated it. Knowing myself, I'll probably still hate it now. I just found it remarkably boring . The only thing I liked was the theme song. Kinda catchy.

The Three Caballeros is one weird travelogue. None of the live-action foorage was evr shot in Brazil and Mexico due to wartime travel restrictions. The Acupulco sequence was actually shot a t a local L.A. beach. If you notice the famed Acupulco cliff divers, practically a city trademark, are quite conspicuous by their absence. The rst of this could have been shot with picture postcards. As for the animation, it's just window dressing.
