View Full Version : Being pissed off over road rage.

I got a call at about 5:30 from my roommate. From the hospital.

She and three others were driving out to Wal-Mart, when the guy (we'll call him Alex) driving unintentionally cut off another vehicle. The guy honks his horn, passes them, and flips Alex the bird. No big deal, right? Five minutes later, Alex's car, a convertible with the top down, is stopped at a redlight when a car coming the opposite way pulls an illegal u-turn over the median and stops beside Alex. It's the guy from earlier, who puts his car in park, gets out, and backswings Alex across the face with the butt of a semiautomatic pistol, then gets back in his car and drives off. Alex, who can no longer see, is put in the back of the car with my roommate, who does a fast sketch of the guy who nailed him while the guy in the front passenger seat takes down a liscense number and a car description. They drive Alex to the hospital, where the medics find that the gun handle cut a hole in the cartilage of his nose, making him look like he's got a third nostril. His front lip is split wide open, he's got several loose teeth, and his eye looks like he went three rounds in a boxing ring. They've pretty much told him he's going to need reconstructive surgery to fix all the damage.
We're all mad as hell. The fact that the guy drove off, then came back just to get revenge means he actually planned it out. The fact that we don't know whether the gun was loaded or not and whether that factored into his decision to nail Alex has us worried. The fact that he actually saw fit to rearrange Alex's face with a gun at all just because he was cut off has us dumbfounded.

I don't like it when I'm cut off but I wouldn't even go as far as to flip someone off. Actually turning around to go back and hit someone that's just really stupid. Thankfully he didn't shoot the gun. Hope everything works out ok.

it's disgusting but I do think thatc counts as ground for an aggrivated assault charge which I believe is a felony

Wonder what his story's gonna be

Let me think.....road rage story.. Once a long time ago while I was with a friend at the beach. Before leaving I ran out to go grab the hooters card with the cross dressing waitress on it. Unfortunately, my friends mom was double parked, and the lady behind us was really impatient; so she decided to get out of the car and yell in her face. My friends mom, whom I'll now call Josh for no particular reason got out to join in the fun. By the time I walked back out to the parking lot I could hear my friend yelling "go mom! take her fat*** down a notch"
The same lady happened to be behind us again on the way down the street. Josh took vengence, and spent around five minutes to get to the end of the street.

.........
Anyway, keep us updated.

One time my dad was close into kicking some guys' ass for almost crashing into him.I didn't want him to fight luckily he didn't but he really wanted too.

At some point when people cut me off when I'm driving, I have the urge to kick their asses or to ram them with my car. But I don't cause it's not the right thing to do.

Damn, that's terrible!

I hope he gets some time in jail for that, Mackenzie Rainelle.

I hope they catch the killer, JerkBox. :(

I once cut someone off on accident in a mall parking lot...

He followed me until I had to stop at a light on the way out, got out of his car, came up to my drivers' side window and started banging on the window and yelling "I should kick your ****ing ***! I should kick your ****ing ***!"

I can't believe someone could get so upset over something like that... yeah it's frustrating to be cut off, but you deal with it... in my case, the case of Mackenzie's friend, and, I would like to think, in most cases, it was an accident...

I'm really sorry to hear about your friend, Mackenzie... you and your friend are in our thoughts. Please let us know if anything results from the sketch and license plate number... I certainly hope that justice is served for this maniac.

The guy should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. No question that was pre-meditated.

I can only hope that your friend recovers quickly.

This is the kind of thing that really makes me angry. If luck and skill are on the side of good, this criminal will be found and arrested. (A madman that just pistolwhips people for such little provocation is likely to commit increasingly worse crimes as he shows a disconnect from the normal mores of society. )

This would be Aggrivated Assault and Battery with a deadly weapon, depending on the structure of the local penal code.

Do your best to remember the circumstances of the night, and if they catch him, help put this person away. (Then sue him.)
