In honor of Jon's Halloween theme for the title page of his website, here's a poll on the best Jeckyl-and-Hyde/transformation themed Warners toon. I threw in the second part to add the two Witch Hazel cartoons into the mix.

HYDE AND GO TWEET. That, simply put, is most classic of all the toons in the poll. A nice plot point it dealt with...:D
...Plus, I think they used this gag as a level in a Sylvestor video game. Double bonus!

How about "The Dish Ran Away With the Spoon"?

I vote Hyde and Go Tweet. The cute Tweety was a big monster like Dr. Jekyll in Hyde and Hare and Bugs Bunny in Mad as a Mars Hare.

Difficult one to vote on because each has its own way that it stands out. "Hyde And Go Tweet" (of Tweety) is surely the most drastic, and there are more transformations per cartoon there than anywhere else. But the dream thing is something of a let-down.
"Dr. Jerkyl's Hide" (Sylvester and the fly) is probably the best used as a humorous plot device, to completely humble a bully. But Sylvester turning into a monster isn't very disturbing
because in most of Freleng's cartoons with him, he's already a bad ol' putty tat. And he only changes twice.
Definitely "Hyde And Hare" captures the actual
Jekyll transformations better. And Stalling's music there really magnifies the effect. The gradual changing of Bugs as he's walking is very well done. The change in the closet showing just the eyes is great.
One of these three, I'd guess.
"The Impatient Patient" just isn't very frightening, though it's worth some chuckles to see all the things put into the formula.
Can't comment much on the 1930s, though "Case of the Stuttering Pig" is very atmospheric. The breaking of the fourth wall does tend to downplay the horror aspect, though.

Though I loved the transformation in "Broomstick Bunny" (I'm a sucker for redheads), I also voted for "Hyde and Hare". The animation was very well-done and the music was so perfect. I also loved when Bugs was playing the piano then he got a look at Mr. Hyde and just started playing random, dissonant notes.

It gives me the creeps every time I see that oversized monster Tweety in "Hyde and Go Tweet"!!!

It would be interesting to include non-Warner
cartoons in this poll. Mighty Mouse fought a Hyde cat, Sergeant Deux Deux in the Inspector cartoons drank a Hyde formula, there was a Tom and Jerry cartoon called "Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Mouse", and Huckleberry Hound met Jekyll in a cartoon, written by Warren Foster I think, that was in many ways a redoing of "Hyde And Hare", but with Huckleberry as a police detective. None of these cartoons compare with Warners' but the plot device certainly had longevity. Pinky & the Brain and The Sylvester And Tweety Mysteries also recycled it.
