Adapted from the popular online RPG Ragnarok makes the leap from the computer screen to the TV screen. I gotta say I enjoyed the first ep. I've been wanting a new fantasy anime and this seems to fit the bill. This is certainly going to be a busy watching season for me.
Hmm. That sounds interesting, I played the online RPG myself. I had heard something about an anime being developed, nice to know it's already airing.. I'll have to look for it, when I have some time.

Eh, I heard it was really average at best.
The only people who will get into are probably hardcore fans of the game. ~_~

Well I would'nt say its made exactly to appeal to hardcore fans. I'm not one and I liked it.

This isn't based on the manwha.
This is based on the online RPG.

*Runs*No, Myung Jin Lee started writing Ragnarok way back in 1995. Tokyopop's been publishing the stuff in english since 2002. The high sales of the books led to the creation of the game. Game leads to tv series. End of story.
BTW- Just for clarification purposes, a "manwha" is a Korean manga. Most of these pail in comparison to their Japanese cousins, but Ragnarok is pretty good I say.

After some further digging around, I've discovered Gonzo is doing the animation for this one. And we all know what happened the LAST TIME Gonzo did a rpg inspired anime....

Ew, this show looks like crap (character design wise). I wish they at LEAST stuck with Myung Jin Lee's character designs, because these look butt ugly.
It never fails to dissapoint me when people know nothing about the Ragnarok manwha, ,but freak out about the mediocre MMORPG. *Prays for the day when the manwha is animated ie. cold day in hell*

Why do you think its going to suck? Have you even seen the first ep? Also if this info is correct the guy who created Ragnarok is directing the series.

Also if this info is correct the guy who created Ragnarok is directing the series. It's a rare occasion when an anime based off an rpg doesn't suck (.hack doesn't count as it's a prequel), apparantly ANN is listing Lee as Chief Director of the series however those are clearly not his designs.

Much of fandom seem to put Ragnarok at the bottom of the pile amongst the recent premieres.
