Hi, everybody!

What's your favorite charachter in the Looney Tunes cartoons?

My favourite is Bugs Bunny, but it isn't patently. After Bugs Bunny? Oh, it's difficult I'm afraid... Maybe Daffy Duck and Tweety...

Who's your?

Sincere,

Bugs. Other than Bugs, I'm a big Yosemite Sam fan. Daffy was always a bit too crazy for me.

I prefer daffy ,i like both his 30s and 40s crazy persona and the 50s ego-maniac incarnation

I can't really choose my favorite, because I grew up with all of them, but out of the ones I grew up with, I can probably tell you the ones I like, in no particular order:

Daffy Duck
Pepe Le Pew
Porky Pig
Chuck Jones's dysfunctional bear family
Bugs Bunny
Foghorn Leghorn
Sylvester the Cat
Hubie and Bertie

I've always liked Bugs because he's such a smart alek and comes up with great remarks. I have not watched him in so long though, mostly because I never really watch tv any more. I do hope to get my hands on that dvd collection someday though.

Normally, my favorite are Wile E. Coyote but also Bugs, Daffy, Sylvester and Sam

I like the characters who are kind of, well, cocky jerks:

Daffy
Sylvester
Foghorn
Yosemite

And of course Bugs and Elmer rock too

Least favorite character? That's easy - the Roadrunner. I'm still waiting for Wile E. to give him his just desserts.

I identify more with Daffy and Wile E. Coyote than the likes of Bugs. I see Bugs as a master of deception. He knows how to get what he wants. Daffy's insanely jealous.

Foghorn would probably end up in a fraternity if he ever went to college.

Yosemite Sam needs anger management.

And Pepe is a potential sexual predator.

Sylvester means well, but stuff keeps blowing up in his face.

I used to think Tweety was a girl.

The Goofy Gophers are probably lovers. (And this isn't Looney Tunes, but...don't you wonder about Chip an' Dale sometimes?) Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Speedy Gonzales is bland, but I love his cartoons all the same.

Too bad aside from Granny, there wasn't a single major female Looney Tunes character. And most of the male characters saw women as objects of desire, not people.

Then again, these cartoons were a product of their own time, before the dawn of feminism and whatnot. Despite their objectification of women, they still crack me up :-)

"Bugs Bunny! He's my Hero!" Daffy Duck in "Porky Pig's Feat" (Okay, maybe Daffy Duck wouldn't say that now, after seeing the rabbit upstage him so many times..."Why am I talking to you? All you have to do is chew on a carrot and everybody loves you!")

What's not to love about Bugs Bunny, someone who, with quick thinking and a quick wit, can almost effortlessly get out of most situations without a scratch. Porky Pig and Daffy Duck are tied for second. Especially the Bob McKimson pictures where Daffy is the annoying jerk to Porky's ever suffering straight man, who often gets the best of Daffy in the end.

Well, Wile E. is my favorite because I think every cartoon he appeared in was funny.

But I think the comment on Sylvester was very wise. He means well, and everything blows up in his face. I feel like that sometimes, which may be why he's one of my favorite characters. I can relate to him-he's passionate about or obsessed with something when nobody else cares. Call it my own flaw-I care about stuff at the wrong time!

Besides Buddy, I like all the LT stars. Heck, I even like Merlin the Magic Mouse.

???? Er, primarily Sylvester is obsessed with homocide.

All the Looney Tunes characters make me laugh and I love 'em all, but I hadda go with my sentimental fave - Bugs.

On the OTHER hand :

Yeah, he's boring - not as boring as Buddy, but without Wile E., there's no cartoon...

Who's Buddy?

(I'm from Norway, so... Sorry, I don't know it!) :D

Buddy is a boy with a big head and big eyes. He came around after Harmon and Ising left WB. I have only seen one Buddy cartoon so I can't make too many comments about him.

I voted for Porky Pig. I grew up mostly with the B&W Porky Pig cartoons of the 30s and 40s, and they are still my favorite LT cartoons. Also, Porky isn't as appreciated as other characters, and his personality is something I like about him.

I used to get so tired of the B&W Porky's in the days when Nickelodeon was playing them to death. Nowadays I appreciate them even more, especially since I have seen more of them in their original B&W form rather than computer or redrawn colorized.

My favorites are:

1. Daffy (who I voted) :daffy:
2. Bugs (He's lovable in a way) :bugs1:
3. Wile E. Coyote (poor guy can't catch the Road Runner with or without ACME products.) :coyote:

Without Daffy IMHO, Looney Tunes would have been a bit boring. Aren't you gald he's here?

And a message to Kate Hougton (Jenna Elfman's character in LT:BIA) It's not just "Angry guys in basements" who love Daffy, it's also happy guys and gals in large cities with happy feelings doing happy things, too. (Woohoo!)

These polls are tough! I like all the characters, but I couldn't believe you didn't name Porky as a chioce (my "favourite"). Pork's early b&w cartoons are great (thanks Bob Clampett & others !), but consider these cartoons by way of my justification: Trap Happy Porky, Wagon Heels, Nothing But the Tooth, Kitty Kornered, My Favorite Duck, Mouse Menace ... enough said!

Pepe Le stink

I never liked Pepe as a kid, but he's now my favorite. He's so incrediably oblivious to his personal problem that it's funny. Sadly I suspect I'm the only one who feels this way.

I like Bugs Bunny (when he's not being a total JERK) because he's so clever.

Yeah, well well, it seems that Daffy Duck wins the poll!! Bugs Bunny's close behind.

Yes, it's a very tough question and poll... All the characters are so incredible different, and they've so very different personalities, so... it is difficult.

It's of course continued open for more voting and replies and answers!!
Let it go on!! :D
