Please tell me Saiyuki gets better....

I've just watched episode 3 of this series, and right now the only keeping me from dropping the series is that I'd rather not fall off of Anime Network's schedule.

It's like Inu Yasha......except the characters stand around in moody poses and swear more. And the villains suck. And the main characters suck.

You've watched one episode? one? I don't think you really have place to judge yet. Yes the series get's better, once you actually watch some of it. The characters are fun, the dub is so free it's actually kinda good, the story gets deeper, and some of the episodes towards the end of season one are more hilarious than you could know.

Watch up to the second disc (episode 5 is where the real good stuff starts to happen IMO) before making harsh uncalled for comparisons. Saiyuki is way better than Inu Yasha (they are entirely different shows,to compare it to that is blasphemy)and the characters are a hell of a lot more likable than anything Takahashi comes up with.

If you hate it after that, well, then all I can say is that it's just not your cup o' tea. It's a weird quirky show that most people don't tend to get. It's all about if you dig the main characters or not. If you already hate them, then the rest of the show most likely won't be very enjoyable to you.
I don't understand most people's unreasonable biasedness against bishounen anime; they tend to have better writing and well-developed characters, as opposed to most anime with flat, boring characters with one dimensional personalities.

I liked what I saw from the first DVD have to rent the rest to see how it goes. I've read some of the manga online and it's a pretty good series. Also I'd suggest that you watch the sub rather than the dub. IMO the dub tries to use cussing to make the scenes more funny when they didn't cuss as much in the sub yet it was still just as funny.

No not the best example there buddy ;) .I have only seen like one episode of Reload and it was average from what I saw,though it shows potensial.

Are you kidding? I think that Bebop has one of the best first episodes, ever. Anime is notorious for having much worse intoductory episodes...

yeah they'll REALLY need to tweak it after the first season to counter the major yaoi love-fest that is season 2
