With the current specs on both the Xbox2 and PS3 they're only slightly behind what the latest hardware PC's have to offer can do, but that's more than good enough. Since programming for consoles is so much easier (because every system is the same) they can crank a lot more out of what they have to work with. The downside with that is the technology will eventually become outdated.

For all that footage being from the engine, I'd say thats good, like Doom3 good; or a Farcry, HL2. Anyway its good =D

If you think that looks like Half Life 2 than you are nuts. That looks far far better.

Looks a little too comparable to the likes of Doom III (or less), which should, in theory, run on current X-box level hardware (consider that the engine was developed on G-Force 3 level cards, which are already far outdated). The only thing that really stands out, to me, is the motion blur.

And a much higher quality trailer at:

Personally, I had higher expectations.

...especially when Sony's been throwing around claims of the PS3 being "1,000 times more powerful than the PS2".

My big question is for now:

Will the PS3 be able to play PS2 and PS1 games? Will it play PSP games?

Will the GameCube 2 play GameCube 1 games? Also, will it play Game Boy library games?

So far whats been confirmed is that PS3 will be backwards compatable.

Edit: the reason it looks so similar to Doom3 is because this game appears to be also using shadows as a palette to show off the visuals, and lighting.

I'm not sure if i'm gunna get one of these next consoles. They are gunna be way too expensive, and plus I just got a new (beast) PC. So I think all my gaming needs are satisfied.

That is unless another Metal Gear Solid game comes out for PS3. Then I will have to get one
