Unmasked is probably the most controversial episode of Batman Beyond Never to air. Due to the horrific events of Sept. 11th, Kids'WB! pulled the plug on that episoide. The episode was supposed to finish the run of Batman Beyond on Kids'WB!. Instead we got a repeat of Hooked Up. Now reports are going in that the episode has aired in Europe and is scheduled to air in Canada in December! Now what about Kids'WB!? Well, according to the network, the episode is still "scheduled for the 2001- 2002 season". This means the show can air anytime from September 2001 to September 2002.
But what are the real chances of the episode hitting the airwaves? Pretty slim.
If the episode does not air on Kids'WB! there is still a chance they will see it. Cartoon Network will have to renew their rights to Batman Beyond, and in the process can pick up the "missing" episode.
Canada is expected to see the episode in December. The Canadian channel YTV has rights to all 52 Batman Beyond episodes as well as the direct to video movie Return of the Joker.
