I really had a hard time deciding, but I chose THE RETURN OF JAFAR. It is more similar to the "Aladdin" TV series than it is to the original movie.

It probably isn't fair to put sequels in the same category as originals, especially if they were not meant for the theater. That's my opinion anyways.

I voted for Hunchback. I've only seen parts of it, but I didn't like what I saw. A Jason Alexander gargoyle...yechh.

Well I could only post a maximum of 10 votes so I had to make due with what little space I had. It's no big deal anyway.

I voted for Tarzan,I watched it with my cousin about 3 weeks back and he told me how it ended-LOL
but it was still a load of rubbish, the story was awful and the animation lacked any emotion.

I like some of the films you put of your list like
The Hunchback of NotreDame
Hercules and
Mulan( I was very pleasently surprised by this film).

I voted for "Hunchback" as well, but it was less a case of what I hated more than a case of what I loved.

"The Emperor's New Groove" is freakin' hilarious! I have no choice but to feel sorry for (and pray for the souls of) anyone who votes for it.

"Atlantis" was another home run. Too bad it didn't make "Lion King" style numbers at the B.O.

Speaking of which, I liked "The Lion King". I missed the sequel, but if it suffers the curse of Disney's direct-to-vid "sequels" (the quotation marks rightly apply to those whose original films debuted more than 5 years prior), I didn't miss much.

I consider "A Goofy Movie" and its sequel to be very underrated. For something simple and undemanding, rent these in the future.

I also liked "Mulan", though it's unanimous that Eddie Murphy's (funny) comic relief undercuts the seriousness of the story (he's better in "Shrek", anyway).

I haven't seen "Pocahontas" or its sequel.

I also missed "Hercules". I caught the show, however; not bad.

"The Return of Jafar" was okay, not bad, not good.

"Tarzan" was all right, but in Rosie O'Donnell's Terk, we only got more comic undercutting of a serious (and sometimes tragic) tale.

I've been hearing nothing but bad things about "Hunchback"'s gargoyles; the way I see it, it set the tone for "Mulan" and "Tarzan".

Although I'm going to suffer a whole lot of bashing for this one, I'm going to have to go with a movie not on this list: Fantasia 2000 .

I always thought that the original Fantasia was a prime vehicle to showcase the artists' raw talent. It was tasteful, absorbing, and visually exciting, not to mention emanated sheer artistic creativity.

However, when I got F2000 for Christmas last year, and watched it, I found myself surprisingly bored. Although there were a few really innovative sequences in it which I liked, I haven't brought myself to sit through the whole thing again. I think the main reason why is because it's literally saturated with computer animation, and void of a lot of the classical hand-drawn beauty I've come to recognize from Disney. CG graphics are everywhere now, and maybe it's also because I work in the field, there really aren't any new and "WOW" techniques that I find impressive (actually, some of the best CG sequences are in 30-second commercials). I know that someone who can't even draw can produce animated CG images, which is why I feel F2000 lacks that natural talent which made Fantasia so enjoyable..... but just MHO.... I also felt that the inclusion of a "newly restored and better-looking" Sorcerer's Apprentice was a big mistake- contrasting that previous electronic pablum with fantastic unabashed talent just made it all the more obvious (besides, the 'digitally cleaned-up' print seemed to look worse than I've ever seen it..... the process just volumized the graininess and washed-out aging of the original).

To close, however, I must praise what I feel is worthwhile viewing from Disney that has come out after the "Golden age" of animation- The Great Mouse Detective, The Little Mermaid, The Rescuers Down Under, Aladdin, The Emperor's New Groove, and of course the single greatest animated masterpiece to come out of Disney in the past 20 years, THE LION KING. I would appreciate a lot more of them, but the fact that Disney has b*st*rdized a lot of the original stories really caps off my dislike for a lot of their new movies (Hey- I really wanted to see Ariel commit suicide by impaling herself on the front of the ship, and her sisters to dissipate into the sound of the waves after giving up their most desired features in order to get her back ;) ). They're really better off when they write brand new material into an animated feature.....

HERCULES! As a fan of Mythology, it was awful seeing ole Herc be reduced to something like this in order to make a few cheap laughs. Heck, seeing Hades was even worst...(shudders)

VERY close was Lion King 2. Rehashed, but unlike most rehashes this one was TRULY the same. Heck, the main char/cub (forget her name) was exactly like Simba, and seeing Timon and Pumbba was bad, because it was obvious they were thrown in for popularity.

I'd have to go for Pocahontas - they went into HISTORY and ruined it. :P And you cant get any more jacked up than that. :P

I chose Return of Jafar, I still remember watching it for the first time and thinking "This is just bad." It had the quality of a TV cartoon, and songs that flowed like dry cement. There was nothing to make up for the lack of detail, bad songs, and crummy plot. I even remember people complaining about it over the radio, it was so bad.

I agree with Larry T. about Fantasia 2000. I liked it more than he did, but much of it left me cold. I guess I expected something more. The first one is like an homage to the artform, not just animators and background artists, but also to those who inked and painted the cels. The second one relied on computers too much, not that I don't like computer aided animation, I loved movies like "Toy Syory" and look forward to "Monsters Inc.," I just think computer-made images blended with traditional animation technigues looks strange. They don't fit together well.

Haven't seen it.

Doubt anyone here's seen it.

Have heard people who have seen it.

The Black Cauldon Supposed to be Disney's worst mistake ever. Like I said, I don't know, but I remember seeing a clip when it came out and it looked awful.

From what I have seen, The Great Mouse Detective, with Hercules and the original Fantasia on its tail (yes, yes, pretty animation, no plot makes it a dull movie). But then, I haven't seen Mulan, Hunchback, Dinosaur, Pocahontas, etc, etc, etc. My opinion isn't going to be worth much as a result.

Emperior's New Groove was actually a post-Lion King disney movie that was good, I saw it the first time last Sunday and now I want to see it without commercials! It deviated from the formula like Toy Story but not like Pocahontas. The Goof Troop can't go wrong ethier.

Pocahontas is the Kellner of Disney, after so much gold they hit bottom and kept on digging. After (Herl)cules and Hunchback someone can only take so much. Too bad Emperior came out after so many shots in the foot.

I voted for Return of Jafar. It was all that cracked up to be. Alladin 1 & 3 were good. Yet Alladin 2 just plain sucked.

Hunchback was great, but would would have been a whole lot better if they cut out the songs and kiddie crap and made it a straight out drama.

Tarzan took too much from other past movies. It really lacked originality and in the end I just did not care for it.

But I voted for Jafar. If I could do it again, I think it would be for Tarzan. I kinda agree now the direct to video sequels don't belong there.

Emperor's New Groove was the best one out of all those!
