Avatars??????????

Could someone coach me on how to put an avatar onto my posts?
I tried following what a post (about avatars) written when the board was first put up and I can't find anythiing about EDIT OPTIONS and CUSTOM AVATARS!!

I really want to put a picture up...can anybody here help me???

P.S. I have a Gateway computer, so the format might be different.

This really SHOULD be on a FAQ (If it is, pls advise)

Step 1. - get an image no larger than 75x75 pixals (there is also a size limit - about 9000 bytes). The image must be smaller than BOTH limits.

you will need to use an image-editing program of some sort (MS Paint can be used)

once you have such an image on your machine (hard drive, cd, floppy - whatever), report back and we will then proceed

if you go through (note the PROPER spelling) the archives, some folks posted images pre-sized for use as avatars.
