I recall in the mid 1990s The Pink Panther came back to television with a twist. All new cartoons where The Pink Panther actually talked. In two of the original 1960s cartoons,he had talked with a British accent{voiced by either Mel Blanc or Daws Butler.I believe it was the latter}.But it was still quite strange to see him regularly talking in these new cartoons.I think Micheal Hall did his voice this time, and he sounded like Kermit The Frog.I wonder why they decided to give him dialogue after all those years of being a silent cartoon character?Maybe to get viewers' attention?

I guess the writers/execs felt that viewers would be bored by a character who didn't talk. Whatever.

Any cartoon where The Pink Panther stayed mute and instead expressed himself through facial expressions and body movements are the good ones. The Pink Panther shouldn't be allowed to talk.... except maybe as a meta-joke in ONE short.

The Pink Panther shouldn't be allowed to talk.... except maybe as a meta-joke in ONE short.Yep. That meta short is Friz Freleng's "Sink Pink", where in the end of the cartoon, he says "Why can't man be more like animals?"

Matt Frewer (Max Headroom) did the voice for these new cartoons.
