Anime insider's little duels

Recently I aquired a couple older anime insiders (within a couple months at least)
and they've started doing these "duels" between anime's

one was kenshin vs.. er the ninja scrolls guy (kinda a bad fight idea to begin with)
kenshin naturaly winning since the series is over all more popular with readers probably

the next was the Robotech VF-1J vs Gundam's RX-78?
this kinda made me a bit mad, even though I'm kinda a fan of both

stats (vf-1j -- gundam)

weight ( about 15 to 40tons -- 43 - 60 tons)
height ( robot mode 12.68 meters -- 18 meters)

power plant VF-1j: Shinnakasu Heavy Industry/P&W/Roice FF-2001 thermonuclear reaction turbine engine

power plant RX-78: Minovsky type ultracompact fusion reactor, output rated at 1380 kW

theres a few major differences already and that's just the bare bones stuff
Gundam: fusion powered, nearly 6 meters taller, 20 tons heavier

I'd go through all of the technical stuff but that would seriously take forever

that's where I'm getting most of my info right now

whatever the case.... these duels are getting slightly annoying
most often they're comparing apples to oranges when they do these duels
sure they're both giant robots, but they're completely different

anyone else notice these bad little duels?:confused:

AI has been doing these duels since the beginning (come on, they are a part of the Wizard family, bringers of the "Last Man Standing" matches). What did you expect, accuracy? seriousness?

Anyway, I like the battles and the artwork (esp. the art for Wing Zero Custom vs. EVA-01). My favorite battle was between Tetsuo(sp?) from Akira (blob form) vs. Hamtaro. LOL.:D

The Amuro Ray vs. Rick Hunter one was particularly biased because the writer of the article didn't take into account Amuro's Newtype abilities (if he even knew they existed to begin with).

I could see Max giving Amuro a run for his money but not Rick.

the Wing Gundam vs EVA 01 was biased also that it didn't take into account the AT field.

I cna't wait for the day they do Luffy vs. Naruto! (cuz Pirates and Ninjas are mortal enemies.)

and Papatimus vs Rick Hunter?
or Kamillu vs Beserker Eva 1 the Wave Rider form attack he use against papatimus would win

an even worse one I saw on a website was Wing Zero vs. Mobile Turn X
hmmm a 20 meter tall ultra futuristic selfhealing mega machine
vs.. the ever popular star from a hit show on toonami... guess who won

wow Wing zero how'd you guess... and i realy thought one from a series
not even seen in the US at the time would win too
That fight i think was based on the idea "They're both AU they must be alike right?"

Most of the time I think the authors of these haven't even realy seen much
of the series that looses. Either that or they get drowned in "fanboyism"
and are forced to make their favorite win.

I'm not saying all battles are horrible... but they generaly are.
*grumble* especialy when it's giant robots.... :mad:
that genre in particular attracts alot of bad "duels"

I woulda thought the battles in a magazine would have been up to
a higher standard... but appearently they've been wasting a couple pages
on these things for a while now.
