The REAL question is... Will this be the outliner of all T&J DVDs on the face of the earth... Meaning totally uncensored prints?
Oh well, I doubt I'll be rushing out to the store the day it comes out to get it... I'm happy with my 'Larry' collection... ;) :twoshoes:

The look like good but the cover art of T&J are more like a DVD for childrens
Why also a 2 disc T&J DVD like with the Looney Tunes?

I also wonder about what isn't going to be on the Tom & Jerry set. The missing cigarette ads on the Flintstones set really have me worried about the Tom & Jerry set.

I was wondering...
Were the Winston ads originally aired with the first season? Perhaps if they're for another season, we'll see it on another volume.

yeah,it looks so to me,too!
i hope jerry beck is now allowed to say something about this project and let us know using his site or this forum as soon as he can!!!
i just hoped that this set would have included all the classic hanna-barbera tom and jerry cartoons, but i think that this will not happen and we'll have to wait another years and we'll have two sets with all the classic tom and jerry adventures:jerry let us know!!
(i also hope we'll have restored uncut copies of the milky waif, the little orphan, his mouse friday, saturday evening puss.....in it)

Thanks for the heads-up, Dan!
Why do you suppose all of these H-B DVDs (Tom and Jerry included) seem to consciously use 1980s character models on the packaging? Characters are distinguished by a staid, cutesy look whereas today they're more normally drawn with bounce and energy. The images on the Flintstones DVD suggest nothing so much as a box of Flintstones vitamins.
And now with Tom and Jerry DVD, it's a little hard to make out— but there's those '80s models again, right down to a bowtie on Jerry.
Is it a WBHV thing?

Maybe they figure that Moms are more likely to buy them if they look cutesy and harmless. (I think Jerry's just wearing a bowtie there because both he and Tom are dressed up in the picture, not any effort to go back to HB's "The Tom and Jerry Show".) While I don't know about any publicity art from MGM and later Turner entertainment, the only major Tom and Jerry project from the 1980's I can think of would be Filmation's TV series, and I'm sure WB wouldn't use THAT publicity art. (When did they start releasing Tom and Jerry on vhs?)This looks like new art on the DVD box, from what I can tell.

So am I - I severely doubt I will purchase anything released that is edited, 'dubbed' or 'formatted to fit my screen'.
