View Full Version : Bring Princess Diana(pre-Wonder Woman) to Smallville...

In a recent Smallville episode. A newspaper headline showed that the Themiscyran Queen (Wonder Woman's mom) came to address the UN. I would love if they had an episode where the Queen and her daughter were touring the US and made a stop in Smallville.
Their could be an instant attraction between Diana and Clark. To the chagrin of Lana and Chloe. In the comics the writers always seem to want to get Supes & WW together. Just look at how many Elseworld books their have been where they get together.

Oh yeah, they'd really stop in a small farm town when Metropolis is a short distance away.

Clock,

If we went by that thinking. Why would one of the richest men in the world move a huge Scottish castle stone by stone to the same middle of nowhere town.

My point is that they could be their visiting Lex or it is a stopover on the way to Metropolis.

for the same reason a billionaire would move a scottish castle to atop his personal skyscraper...because he could

and usually most of the pairings between Diana and Clark/Kal-el are after his canonical love interest is dead

What exactly would WW's appearance do to help the show other than be a pure fanboy moment at the sacrifice of a plot?

Ask the creators of Justice League.

I've always seen Smallville as a show that even though you have all these amazing and weird things going on, it's grounded in some sort of reality. Having a Themsycarian (I think that's how you spell it) Princess visit Smallville is kind of stretching it.

I think the newspaper headline was meant to be a bone thrown to the fan boys, just like "The Fastest Man Alive" article Clark was reading off the web in the "Pilot" episode, which if you freeze framed it and read the article it had nothing to do with The Flash.

If any non-Superman character does get brought on to Smallville, I would prefer it to be Bruce Wayne. At least he'd be a plausible character to be able to explain, as we already have one billionaire residing in this small town.

No, no, no. Correct me if I'm wrong, but hadn't Diana never left Thymiscyra until she became Wonder Woman?

Ask the creators of Justice League.

WW's (repeated) appearance and core roll on Justice League is a "fanboy moment at the sacrifice of plot"? Interesting...

I love guest stars...and quite frankly, as much as Smallville's already puttered around with Superman's origin, why not have Diana AND Bruce show up on the same show and have a child. I'm game!*

No, no, no. Correct me if I'm wrong, but hadn't Diana never left Thymiscyra until she became Wonder Woman? No. On the island, I believe it's always been Diana. A big clue to this would be adopting American/Superman colors in her suit, most notably her star-spangled britches.
However, no, I don't have the need nor desire to see pre-Wonder Woman Diana in Smallville. Implausible, and too much twist to Superman's origins, much like the rest of the past season and a half.
I think we already had a thread on this subject, with all the other heroes (and I could've sworn MID-NITE started that one, too), and I still stand by Bruce Wayne being one of the only explainable cameos they could have, not to mention a great gift for comic fans/Batman fans/Smallville fans/people like me who were anticipating Bruce Wayne way back in the day.

Diana would be a long shot, but with the newspaper headline and the already wacky events happening in Smallville everyday (aliens, people with super powers, sci-fi experiments beyond imagining, etc) I can see it happening.

Why not have Lex, or Lionel for that matter, inviting Hippolyta to the mansion for some motive, such as gaining land or scientific knowledge for their own personal gain? If one knows anything about the of Amazons in the DCU (and I know a tiny bit) then they know that the Amazons have scientific advances far beyond what other humans have. They even have a healing ray that cures any kind of disease or malady. Now, maybe it's just me, but I know someone on the show who needs a healing apparatus. Of course, this is a stretch and something I personally would not want to see for another few seasons, if at all, but it can easily be incorporated without changing the show any. And besides, how is Bruce Wayne showing up any more believable? I don't really see a difference, they're both fictional characters that populate the same world. Oh, and it's not like Lois Lane being Chloe's cousin is not stretching the bounds of reality any.... *ok that was a bit sarcastic, but come on....*

Frankly, I don't need her to show up, but I wouldn't hate it if it was done well and in line with what the show has already done. I don't see it as making the show less believable because it's fiction anyway and we've already see way too many things on the show that are way more out there than some Greek royalty.

MID-NITE, do you forget that you post these things or do you just feel compelled to bring it up again?

It's an open-ended statement. Can be taken either way by either side. Humor being the only constant. ;)

(Although, personally I've always thought her powers were...well...contrived. That's just me. I'm no expert on Greek mythology.)

Her contrived powers come from her comic book counterpart...not any of the show's fault--heck, they even removed the "Speak the truth!" power from her lasso. But, whatever...

Since there's already a thread (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=101685) (as Damien and Penguin pointed out) concerning not only WW's appearance in Smallville, but also other superheroes, there's really not much of a reason why this one should still be here...so...
