So i always wondered about this:
In TNBA episode "growing pains," does anyone know for a fact if
Annie was modeled after Natalie Portman's character in "The Professional"...it sure looks like it...the boots and the red coat...and the hair...
Can anyone confirm this for me?

As far as I've been told, she was just designed to look like a kid. I guess it's just a coincidence.

it's too much of a coincidence in my opinion...
even the choker/necklace around annie's neck is very reminiscent of mathilda - portman's character in the professional.
i think i'm just looking for someone to agree with me to ease my pain.

You know, I wouldn't be surprised. The character is SOMEWHAT similar, too. The animators were probably fans of the movie (the full-length cut of the movie IS pretty good) and decided to do it as an in-joke/homage.

And the teams are well known for their injokes so I wouldn't be suprised, actually. I'll have to watch that movie again...

i have always assumed that annie was taken from portman's character.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least, either. It could have been done as a homage by an animator who was a fan.

Yeah I've always assumed it was faux-Natalie Portman as well.
