Toonami has had its ups and downs this year. On the upside, Toonami has acquired new animes from the Gundam series, Zoids, and the return of an old favorite, Reboot.
On the downside, there has been some negativity about the Kids WB version of Toonami, due to the lack of more mature programming in the block.
But one thing that can't be denied was that for one solid hour, The Midnight Run was worth watching.
And that hour is coming back, on November 2nd.
A little while ago, Toonami ran a very special Midnight Run, entitled "Toonami Midnight Run: Special Edition". Clever, huh?
The special block, instead of showing the usual action cartoons, displayed music videos from Daft Punk, Gorillaz, and more. The block also debuted the 4th of the anime video series from Daft Punk, "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger."
We don't know if this upcoming TMR: SE is a brand new showcase, or an encore presentation of the one that already ran a couple of months ago. But don't miss it! If your friends are into Gorillaz or Daft Punk, sit them down in front of the television.
If it -IS- a new presentation, possible candidates for new music videos could be a fifth from Daft Punk, and the brand new video single from the Gorillaz, "Rock the House", although the video could be a little.. risqué for the network(although noone's seemed to have too much of a problem with Adult Swim).
