Can anyone say AKIRA? Well I guess it's AKIRA plus Quantum Leap... Reminds me of Tetsuo... especially with that quote from the trailer "There is no way for you to imagine what I have become..." It looks mighty slick... Just want to know your thoughts and if you're going to watch it... I am!

Really reminds me a lot of The Matrix...

I'm so pumped to see this. I actually haven't seen any of Jet Li's movies. I've been looking forward to finally seeing one, and The One looks like an incredible place to start.

It does look like a cross between the Matrix and a Jet Li movie. And the story idea seems pretty damn cool too. I don't see how it could be a let down given Li's presence, the style of direction, and the story idea. Should be incredible.

I thought this was the movie Jet Li was going to forego all the wires and stuff? I remember him talking about how audiences wanted more realistic fight scenes so he was going to give them what they wanted. Is it a another movie I'm thinking about?

Maybe that was that movie that came out a month or two ago. Can't remember the name, though.

Even though it's pleasing to the eyes to see that wirework, it sure makes me lose respect for the dude making the moves. Thing is, Li is a an awesome martial artist, but you never get to really see it, because of the wirework. I'm sure this will be an entertaining film, but give me Jackie Chan in Drunken Master 2 anyday! Now that is entertainment.

I second that!

I'm definetly looking forward to this one. I haven't been disappointed by a Jet Li moive yet. Kiss of the Dragon was one of the better movies I saw this summer....

Would you believe that "The One" originally was going to star The Rock (yes, the wrestler)? I am SOOOOO SOOOOOO glad that they made a casting change... frankly wrestler acting... is a joke. There was a good article at dtheatre.com about how entertainment is dropping big musclebound guys of the 80's in favor of the quicker, faster martial arts dudes... interesting

I am there! My roommate & I are pumped about seeing this movies. The trailers actually make me wanna see it. The action does look very cool. Jet Li had a real impressive, if silent, debut in LETHAL WEAPOPN 4 and it's nice to see him following up on that with some good movies. Sure his movies haven't been the best, but they haven't been that bad either. I know there will be alot of wirework and CGI, but I still wanna see this one!

I was listening to NPR the other day and they were talking about Iron Monkey and how the stunts were done by the gentleman who did 'Matrix' and 'Crouching Tiger', but they then went on to add that 'Iron Monkey' was released in America 5 years ago and went straight to video.
After the success of 'Matrix' and primarily 'Crouching Tiger', Hollywood made the money-concious move and re-released 'Iron Monkey' to theaters in America to cash-in on the gravity-defying-air-spinning action sequences.
So, yes, this DOES look like a mix between Matrix and Tiger, but that's because the stunt coordinator made this film FIRST, and then got the job to do the others BASED on his work on this film.
Pretty sweet.
