on the internet. I thought in honor of my making a list out of boredom and Joe humoring me by laughing, I'd ask what bugs you on the internet. And yes, this is how sad I am:

The use of any ":" emoticon.
The use of any image emoticon, unless used for irony or a special image ( ::gm:: )
The use of "=P" so that P has trailing edges.

Avatars that look nice but are automaticaly resized through web software.
Ugly avatars with the same case.
Nice avatars leading no trail to what they are of.
1337 speak.
AOL speak.
Alternate cap speak.
Any combination of the above.
Signatures containing quotes like: "I have nothing clever to put here."
Quoting yourself in signatures.
Linking sites in your signature while stating you're wasting your time at the same time.
Fake quotes.
Smart people who hate what I like.
Annoying people who love what I like.

Things that annoy me about the internet...

* Overuse of profanity - The pervasive use of these harmful words contaiminates not only chat rooms, but message boards and reviews and sometimes even news articles. Not good.
* Excessive Sexual Discussion - Mainly in chat rooms. Can't they talk about anything else?
* AOL - Come on. It's AOL. :)
* Bad Spelling and Grammar - Why can't people take the type to capitalize and spell words correctly in chat rooms and message boards? Sure, the occasional mistake is only human, but all of this 'teh ti me is nowzzzzzzzzz' is just plain ridiculous.
* Pornography Sites - Too many of these sites. Degrading to women and too easy for children to find.

How are curse words harmful? Most of them are very meaningless. Sticks and stones...

-I despise 1337 speak.

-Poor spelling and grammar bother me less than they used to, but still do.

-The big thing for me is having a good connection - getting pages to load quickly and properly. Trying to use the internet on campus is futile.

-The university student mail server can't handle all of the students. It is almost impossible to check mail between the hours of 11am and 4pm.

I know...the link in your sig is the best version of the original penguin game I have found...there are ones where you can get 400 by hitting a pop fly. Send the link to "moreysurf8", he had me beat by a few points on another version of the game, same distance parameters though.

Laaaaaaaag (still on dial up with no sign of broadband on the horizon)
PMs that start off 'Hi. A/S/L?'
People who try to get a reaction in forums or chat rooms by being terribly shocking (usually its not shocking at all it just makes everyone put them on ignore)
Similar types who try to get a quick fix of notoriety by seeing how quickly they can be banned from a forum.
People Who Start Every Word With A Capital Letter (and persist in doing it throughout their lengthy fanfics.)
Pop-Up ads (thank heavens for pop-up blockers)
Sites where you are greeted by a banner demanding that you vote for said site in some top ten listing or competition
People who take images etc from your own paid-hosting site to use for their own sites via remote linking. (What I love about this though is every time its happened to me the culprit has been stupid enough to mail back asking to be included on the links page, not realising what's gonna happen next.)
SPAM
SPAM with links to pornographic sites
Pornographic sites in general
'Regulars' who think they're so lever to bash new members on forums
Stalkers
Watery Mary Sue fanfics ... okay some MS fics can be fun but some are just excruciating, I guess its a matter of taste.

There's too much really ... did I mention laaaaaag?

Unsolicited Advice. There is nothing I like more than when people tell me how I'm doing something wrong or that my life isn't planned well. Seriously, if I wanted to know your opinion on my car/major in college/religion/fashion sense I would have asked for it. Especially if your life is in shambles, you have a 2.6 gpa, are out of work, and consistantly look like you've been hit by a truck, please, tell me about my life. I seek your infinate wisdom, o holy one. That's one thing that will definately get me in a bad mood, when jerks who have no idea what they are talking about ruin a great day by telling me how wrong I am.

People who annouce they are jealous. I can stick to a budget, I keep my wieght down, and I go on a few dates. I don't need people telling me how envious they are of my "luck" (which is apparently jerk-speak for not buying 200$ shoes every week, putting down the fork, and having a social life). Why would I want to hang out with anyone who is constantly conparing my life to theirs?

Backhanded compliments. Don't call me "different". Don't say I'm "eccentric" or "march to the beat of my own drummer". If you want to call me wierd, just say so. And please comment on my race too. That's a great way to make my list.

Idiots who couldn't survive in the wild. If I took them out of their dormroom and away from their computer, they would die. They cannot hold a conversation about anything but anime, comics or computers. These people are so sad it's almost hard to hate them. But I still do.

People who can't shut up. Human white noise. That's all they are. I used to have this problem, but I got over it by counting to 3 before I said anything. If you are over twenty-five and still haven't learned when to shut up, heaven help you.

People who think hey are clever and sarcastic, but really they are just morons. Most radio dj's and class clowns fall into this category. So are those morons who catcall people when they walk by. They are one of the few groups of people who make me want to resort to violence.

Teachers. It's finals week. Give me this one.

People who complain about stuff and then refuse to do anything about it. This includes money problems, wieght, grades, and relationship problems. We all need to whine and vent sometimes, but if you are consistantly stressed, you are a product of your own poor planning.

When a really great internet forum shuts down because of a flamewar. These people are a digital form of locusts. They are nine-teen, probably ugly, completely incompatable with the rest of society, and immune to logic. They show up at a forum and troll around, and pretty soon the owner and all the great ones stop posting. This happened in aimee's forum and the drawing board. Seriously, how hard is it to avoid a flamewar. Isn't the internet big enough? Why do they have to ruin my sites???

People who deviate from thread topics because they have had a really stressful week. Wait.....:o

Monroe Woodbury High School (as a whole, and this is where I go to school). Especially the hallways when you run into a girl so slighty and then they yell at you for making a scene. I always say "If you don't appreciate it, get transfered". The school is big, but not big enough (2300 kids go to school, and like 1000 faculty and staff). That really annoys.

Online Forums
-People who use stale arguments to defend television networks.
-People who misspell many words.
-People who think posting your opinion is spamming.
-People who visit forums that they never post in just to post a nasty reply.
-I say something. Later, someone else repeats what I say in that person's own words. A different person comes after both of those two posts, and gives the second person credit for something I said first.

Other Internet
-Webmasters who send nasty e-mails in response to pointing out a mistake on their websites.
-Being charged more for shipping than the shipping really costs when buying items over the internet.

This is just for things on the internet right?

Team Rocket being blasted off by the Twerps I know what you mean. That is beyond annoying.

Things on the net that annoy me:
People who think they can draw but can't
Kim Possible fans who don't like Dr. Drakken  (There used to be a lot of them at this one forum, but I and some other people scared them away. :p )
People who make no effort to make their posts understandable
Unreasonable flamer type people
Authors who can't take constructive criticism
FuitadNET.com (I'm having trouble getting my website to work properly.)
People who type in caps lock all the time
Overuse of emoticons
Ummm...cartoon porn...it's amazing how much of it there is out there
When people write fanfics where everyone is completely OOC

That's all for now.

People who pretend to be people they are not. Living in Cali at the moment, there are several international students who have come here thinking they are LA gangstas.. one from Adelaide in Australia (remote and not at all gangstaesque) and one from Holland who is Polish... it just comes across as pathetic. Be yourself - be proud of who you are don't try and be something you are not.

People who see drinking as social status and a sign of masculinity. I had an argument with a pair of friends last night (I was a little tipsy myself) over trying to look impressive by drinking beer bongs and ale yards. I never saw the point in doing excessive drinking to get drunk fast. Drink at your own pace. Those who do drink in "games" normally pass out early or end up very sick. It's stupid. They say its cos it's fun, but in the end, those who drink at a pace and get to a drunk level and remain on that line through not excessing their limit last longer and have more fun.. but no, the macho drinker (as the pair were I was arguing with last night) tried to make out you have drinking matches cos they are fun.. uh huh.. as I said, you have more fun the longer you stay awake.. it's to prove your status - normally a very hetrosexual male act - these people will also keep a pointless tally of how much they have drunk, and then constantly list it to people. Drink, socialise, have fun. Be merry, just don't see it as a macho thing.. same sort of people who...

... see sex as a social crutch. Purlease. Animals do it. Rabbits are good at it. Your mum and dad did it - so why do you think I'll be amazed by your details or attempts to sleep with as many people as possible? Flirting is fun, but I hate people who just look for social status in sleeping people. My room mate and his friend made a pact when they came to San Diego to sleep with at least two girls... *yawn* - if they were 17 fine.. but they were in their 20s.. grow up boys...

Intolerance to basic human rights. Whether it be race, sex, sexual orientation, fianancial equality... people deserve basic equal rights. I'll say no more as there has been enough said about this in other threads. People who read them will know what I think....

.... - I HATE that emoticon. An excuse for insultingly sarcastic posts.. yeah, that makes what you say alright, honest.

Jackass. It's had its day - go away.

People who hurt others

People who still think the "silly how peple tawk on the net joke!!!!11" is still clever
People who spam in a thread pointing out spam-I mean I do that too... but I'm trying to stop.
People who take things a little too seriously and without a dose of good humor-especially on forums, not really on here but just forums in general
People who only post to tramp over other's feelings and insult them or something they like. I've seen a lot of people on different forums and even on Toonzone who do this.

I have my mom's temper. Which, is strong. :D Basically, be nice to me, and don't call me bad names, and I won't hunt you down. :anime: But anyway... Here's the list.

-The sterotype of teenage girls. Funny part: They're actually like that!!! AH! They annoy me SO much! "And I was like 'OH MY GAWD!' And she was like 'NO WAY!' " Grr!

-Actresses that think that just because like can kind of act, they can also sing! NO! I'm sorry, but I cannot stand J Lo or Hillary Duff!

-Computers. I love computers, but mine never seem to work! Also the Internet, it's supposed to know it all, but try to find something, and it's gone!

-Crowds. I hate going to fairs and Wal-Marts because of the big women pushing everyone. One time I went to this French fest in my city, and this one chick pushed me so hard I almost fell over! Later, I happened to be behind her this time. Heh heh. Lets just say I love karma! :D

-When people post on a thread just to say how much they hate the subject. If you don't like it, then don't post! No one wants to hear how much you can't stand it!

-Good Charlotte haters. GC is my favorite band and I don't like it when everyone puts them down. They're music is great. They are hot. And they had a tough life, so they're making music, and now they're happier.

-The English language. It has to be the most complicated thing, ever! How can one word have more than one meaning?

-Eddie Murphy. You're not funny and you never have been!

-Rap music. Why must there be so many rappers!? I really don't wanna know why or how you became a pimp! Okay?

-When waitresses are mean. Dude, it's your job! I don't care if you rather be on a date. You are working. That means it's not always gonna be fun!

-The people that canceled X-Men: Evolution and Angel.

That's all for now. Even though I have a lot more.

Later,

Aren't those funny! It's like having someone calling you, offering a no-salemen thing for your phone. :anime:

People who misuse the term "anime" as a animation-style or country-of-origin buzzword. It's really just another word for animation.

Any attempt to debate the "dub vs. sub" issue; it usually ends in a flame war.

Three words: "Cannot find server"

4Kids and DiC: I think you know why.

Today's comic books: killing someone off as a sales stunt, then bringing them back; "all-new" #1 issues that are just an excuse to blow off established continuity; retcon after retcon after retcon; the persistent use of Big Events as a crutch; newly assigned writers who cannot or will not work within existing parameters ...

I agree about the overuse of . It all too often comes off as rude or even downright hateful.

I hate whining. I tend to be more of the, "take it like a ***** and don't complain," mentaility. Which is why I'm almost guaranteed never to PM a mod about a post.

Here is what I hate:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.People Hacking my Computer
2.People Framing me Over AIM
3.The Rules for the F&G Forum here. They seem so Ridiculous!
4.The Penguin Threatening to Close the "What are you Listening to" Topic when he can just move it to the CTZ Forum.
5.People Telling me how much my Music Interest Sucks. This has happened Before and I have unleashed some Anger on the Violator.
6.People making fun of my Asperger's Syndrome over the Internet.
7.People who Confuse me with Extreme Sarcasm and make fun of how Naive I am and Prejudge my Intelligence when I'm Smart in Certain Areas.
8.People who fill a Whole Page in a Forum with Spam.

-My immediate neighbors on all sides, due to the fact that they all seem to enjoy opening their doors and blasting bad rap music. Why they see fit to inflict their bad taste on the rest of the people in this dorm is beyond me.
-Being stared at because of my fashion sense. (I'm an oddity, big deal. Direct your eyes somewhere else, dammit!)
-People who ask the same question five times in as many minutes because they didn't pay attention to the ****ing answer. (I'm about to take out two people in my Survey II class over this one, since it happens during EVERY DAMN LECTURE).
-PETA (God, the stories I could tell about the chapter in my hometown...)
-Soap Operas that kill off the good characters and keep the irritating ones around. (I'm talking to YOU Passions. Off Theresa already!)
-Bad Parodies
-Reality Television
-Drunks (especially the ones who sucker me into being their designated driver. I DO have better things to do than babysit people who are pretty much out to get laid and/or puke in the parking lot)
-People who don't ****ing pay attention when they drive.( I almost got the front end of my poor little nine-year-old Stratus taken off by a Hummer because the moron behind the wheel didn't notice that I was four feet away and tried to pull into traffic.)
-Speaking of Hummers, most SUVs and the people in them piss me off.
-I second whoever mentioned Bad Fanfiction.
-Arrogant/Closeminded/Really Brainless People. There are those who make me seriously glad that the Darwin Awards exist.
-People in my dorm who see fit to start drilling/chiseling/hammering/whatever at 3:30 in the damned morning because they procrastinated on their project that long.

I got a lot more, but those are the most important ones.

4.The Penguin Threatening to Close the "What are you Listening to" Topic when he can just move it to the CTZ Forum. It didn't belong in Cafe Toon Zone. Music goes on Entertainment. I told you that. I'm not going to move something to the wrong place because a member suggested it. You called me rude (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=107418), but this is just disrespectful.

Yeah, it's kinda just another word for animation now. But that's not what it was.

Yeah, it's kinda just another word for animation now. But that's not what it was. :rolleyes:No, it always was. People just want to claim otherwise so they can be stuck-up elitists bashing shows because they "[aren't] anime!" The "cartoon/anime" division is completely false, and it should not matter where an animated show comes from or what it looks like. In fact, I wouldn't cry if people started simply started calling them all cartoons, 'cause that's what they are!

And you might want to cut back on the use of . It comes off as a deliberate attempt to piss off the person you're replying to.

Okay, I'm finished.

Whoa! Calm down! There's no need to get so heated up of a word! I was simply refering to the origin of "anime", okay?

And I like the smilies, and I'll use what ever one I want! :p

Several things that people have mentioned before but one of the things that annoys me the most is...

- People that make a big deal over a topic being revived. I seen boards where people act like it's the end of the world just because someone replied to 1-2 year old topic. It's ridiculous & it kills off topics that still have plenty of life in them (plus it creates a redundant amount of topics on the same thing).

You bring up a good point! I agree. I've gotten a cyber-yelling from a few, when I first joined. Like it was my fault no one replied since November! :anime:

Like it was my fault no one replied since November! :anime:yes, i agree this is a good point, to an extent that is. one example i'll bring up in the "my recent purchase" thread on the video game forum. i started that back in about september and died away after a month. that could very easily be brought back because it is always interesting to see what other members are buying. but, i will also bring up the example of a thread on the drawing board. hobojo brought up a thread that was at least one year old if not older. this wouldn't be a problem if the artist still posted here, but seeing as he doesn't, it just pushes other more useful "current" threads to page 2

Political/religious discussions where they don't belong. If you want to debate politics and religion, fine, but bringing them up somewhere unrelated is a good way to piss people off.

Horrible spelling. Not everybody is a perfect speller, including me, but some people are simply awful. The 1337 and AOL talk fit in here too.

The fact that I'm even less interesting online than I am in real life. I have a reprehensible sense of humor and it's hard enough to make jokes without offending people when I'm able to make it clear that I'm joking. It's impossible to do that online, at least for me.

People who are jerkoffs just for the sake of being jerkoffs. Fortunately, I don't see many here, but they're everywhere over at GameFAQs.
