one of the mooninites appeared on a card.. didn't he?Yep. For a while now Adult Swim has been ending the cards with Ignignot giving the finger with [adult swim is #1] under him.

Wow. I woulda never guessed a guy in a bear suit was the guy who originally told everyone to get out of the pool. That is a cool fact.

EDIT: Y'know, I've said this many times before, but I miss Mightor.

And no matter how many times I see the AOL Time Warner joke, I laugh.

I was about to say something about that! Now that was sweet. They even threw in the little song closer at the end (minus the ad).

Birdman beat me to a pulp
He gave me a yell-down war hell ride
He told me that he was going to kill me if I don't get off his real estate
He gave five minutes to get in my Bronco and hit the rookie road

This episode of ATHF is making me look at that ATHF thread on the Toonami board in a whole new light.

I wonder if Adult Swim University is a public university. If so, I might use my HOPE scholarship and transfer there, being that it's in Atlanta.

I've always wondered: What song is playing during the "Milo/Scotty montage" in The Oblongs?

Damned ironic that Home Movies comes out on top in the ratings just as it gets cancelled.

And what's up with those new interstitual sequences in Big O and Bebop? Big O in Space? And japanese pedestrians for Bebop? Is THIS the"New footage from Japan"?

"The Penguin" by Raymond Scott. It's also sampled in Soul Coughing's "Disseminated". Rayomnd Scott also wrote the theme song for General Motor's Futurama exhibit at the 1939 World's Fair. So why The Penguin wasn't used in that one episode of Futurama with the penguins on Pluto I have no idea...

I think those are samples of the new ASA packaging.

Thanks. I knew the Soul Coughing song, but I had no clue what the original was.

Ratings?

Okay, let's see if I can do this right:

Home Movies 341,000

Harvey Birdman 319,000

Aqua Teens 281,000

Good stuff, but I'm surprised you didn't mention Raymond Scott's most famous piece: baby elephant walk. Wasn't that by Harry Mancini?

BTW- Hey Landstander! Mason does indeed kick, shame he died last season =(.

Yeh, it was. Raymond Scott did Powerhouse though, which I can't belive I forgot about, considering it's covered in another Soul Coughing song (Bus to Beelzebub), and it's in like every friggin' Warner Bros' cartoon or something...

Damn, you're right... Sorry, my roommate has a mix CD with Baby Elephant Walk on it and a crapload of Raymond Scott. Completely screwed that one up.

Given that people still complain and credits get, like, zero attention from the average viewer...

Do the cards get any attention? Or is the channel flipped?

Chad Bonin
03-18-2004, 10:41 AM
I dunno.

Okay, I'll admit, I did pay attention to the credits thrice. Once to see what Roger Smith was credited as, once to see if Norman's VA changed, and once to see if Tyler was lying about the sand in the hourglass falling.

I have yet to see more than one complaint about "And Forever", it's mainly the loss of RFB that's lamented. And you're ignoring the issue of having the freaking end of the whole show removed for more card time. It was also cut in the stupidist manner possible...flash of light and then cut to "And Forever" while BGM was still going. Not to mention actual episode content is till cut from "Twisted Memories" onward (Roger and Alex get cut in the middle of "Action!" at the end of "TWOPC")

This has probably been answered during one of the other runs of Big O, but I never got it. What exactly did Soldano hire Roger for? He didn't want either the android or megadeus Dorothy, and his real daughter has been dead since shortly after the event 40 years prevously. Is he just a senile old man?

I know. I saw that episode many times to know all the people from previous episodes on there.:D

Hope the Emmy voters were watching it, as well as the rest of the episodes they are airing, because this is a great one to pick this Summer.:)
