Anybody ever see the cartoon mentioned above? I've been curious about it ever since I first heard of it, and figured there's no better time to ask than now...

For those not in the know, it was a war film made to educate people about the ration system. It was directed by Chuck Jones, and made at WB durring after work hours and weekends.

Never heard of it. Must've been produced as an educational film during WWII. Where did you hear about it?

It's mentioned in the back section on "Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies: A Complete Illustrated Guide To Warner Bros. Cartoons:"

Point Rationing of Foods, a six minute black-and-white cartoon, was produced as a public service by Schlesinger for the government Office of Price Administration. Chuck Jones' unit worked on this special project on evenings and weekends over a three-week-period. The film explains, via clever limited animation, reasons for product shortages during the war. The film was released to theaters in February 1943 and was widely praised for its ability to get the point across.
It seems it's one of several educational films made at WB. Others include: Gateways to the Mind, The Alphabet Conspiracy, Thread of Life, and About Time (Though all those were made in the late 50s/early60s).

Have you tried to contact WB re this film? Maybe they have it in an archive somewhere gathering dust. Either that or pose the question to Jerry Beck. Maybe he'll put it on the "Ask Jerry" page of his website. Good luck!:D
