Samurai Jack, Cartoon Network's first-ever action-adventure original series, earned its highest-ever household rating (2.2) and delivery (1,716,000) this week with its Sunday night telecast (Oct. 7, 8 p.m.). The innovative series also posted double- and triple-digit ratings increases across all key demographics and set new network delivery records with tweens 9-14 (665,000) and kids 6-11 (1,037,000). Samurai Jack premiered Aug. 10.

Additionally, Cartoon Network's freshmen original half-hour animated series—Time Squad and Grim & Evil—earned their highest-ever household and tween ratings and delivery last week (Oct. 1-7) within the network's signature Cartoon Cartoon Fridays line-up (Oct. 5, 8-11 p.m.).
Highlights of the record-setting Friday evening line-up include:
 Grim & Evil (10:30 p.m.), hand-picked by viewers last year to become a new series and introduced this year on Aug. 24, scored a record 2.0 household rating and delivered 1,532,000 homes.
 Grim & Evil also posted new ratings and delivery records with tweens 9-14 (4.4, 794,000) and kids 6-11 (4.9, 885,000).
 Time Squad (10 p.m.), which premiered on June 8 and features a bumbling team of time-traveling rescuers that tries to correct history's mistakes, earned its highest-ever household delivery (1,667,000 homes) and tied its highest household rating (2.1).
 Time Squad also charted its best-ever rating and delivery for tweens 9-14 (5.0, 907,000).
For the first week of October, Cartoon Network tied for third place both in total day household ratings (1.1, with Lifetime) and in prime time household ratings (1.8, with TBS) among ad-supported cable networks.
