.hack//Unison (spoilers) [Archive]

I realize someone already created a thread for this episode a month ago, but now that it's finally been released I figured it'd be better to start with a clean slate.

Anyway, Unison is finally out with the limited edition of .hack//sign vol 6. It's a pretty fun show with a lot of unexpected sights. Some things that caught me:

Silver Knight dancing. Very frightening.
Sora crying.

I especially enjoyed seeing the video game characters animated. But this doesn't really bridge the gap between the video game and the manga series. I thought it would.

It was at the two nearest Best Buys in my area. I knew from the prior post to buy the special edition box set because I really wanted to see Unison.

Maybe they released it early.

Isn't it a Bandai release? Well, Bandai re-solicited their titles and shifted the release dates for a couple weeks later. However, some stores didn't exactly get the memo and so went ahead releasing at the old dates.
As long as I get it today, I'm not complaining. Hell, I love it when stores break street dates because I can watch it sooner.

I saw the last episode of sign, "Return" finally.

Also I got both of the //Legend of Twilight books...

But the games can take alot out of you, dungeon crawling and more dungeon crawling...

Yeah and Cubia is a pain...

But atleast you get an OAV disc with each chapter...

oh and grunty raising is always fun..

The games are reptative, but that's another reason why it was good to space the story out over several volumes. You get some time to do other stuff and develop your taste for .hack again without getting too bored.

I like Kite a lot more than Tsukasa (spelling?). He's so much more active in the story. He's a force, not a victim. I was disappointed that he didn't get to have a bigger role in Unison.

I just recently started Quarrantine.

Are there any major spoilers in UNison that would prevent me from avoiding watching it until after I've beat the gmae (IE I've heard Liminality #4 has spoilers for the game's ending, so I won't watch it till then) Please try not to be too specific, as I will not read spoiler boxes

also, Did they bother to dub Unison into english or is it just in Japanese Dubbed?
YES, from what I read, there are major spoilers because it takes place after the games.

Since it is Bandai, 99.99% chance Unison is bilingual as the rest of their releases are. I just wish I could find it.

I'd say that there are only two things that could be considered major spoilers in Unison, and that would be if you were already aware of the Quarentine plot.

Mia appears in Unison. She died and came back to life in Quarentine.

Kite does a data drain in Unison. His bracelet was destroyed in Quarentine, but the game promo in magazines already showed that. Aura gave him a new one.

There are no spoilers :/ or at least.... um... how do I put this?... they're kinda spoilers, but you won't understand what they're talking about until you beat the game. they're very vauge. go ahead and watch it. (fyi, if you don't, there's an event in the game that will make no sence)

Thanks, but actually I beleive it was a review for Quarrantine in EGM that mentioned it, I almost never go to Gamfaqs boards (unless I need info that is not in the paltry Quarrantine FAQs like where to get Virus Core J).

Well, the DVD has an option for English audio, so I would assume its in English.

The .hack games really don't require a stratagy guide except for maybe the Sign Phantom and Grunty Raising quests...

The virus cores are explained in the emails on how to aquire them...

Oh and is Wiseman's VA Blum?

Didn't sound stupid to me. That comedy gift from Quarentine was only subtitled, so it's natural to wonder if this bonus episode comes with an English option (which it does).

I got the LE DVD the other day, and watched Unison today. Unison was great, and a perfect conclusion to the SIGN/game story arc. I can't wait for LotTB now.

anyway, I've seen it, it ruled (needed more Kite/ SIGN interaction)

I'm glad to see they updated the look of Balmung and Aura to fit in with the game looks (In the Anime, Balmung did not have armor, just loose fitting blue shirt and pants) Mia looked weird in animation tho.... Also glad to see that they at least tried to make Tsukasa and Elk sound different since they made the mistake of using the same actress for both characters (also not helping the misconception that Tsukasa=Elk)

Well, the Manga is cannon, the anime is a spinoff that had had to make up it's own ending cuz the manga hadn't finished yet.

What was Kite's braclet? It seemed to help him defeat the monsters. Also, where was the character, Elk from. Finally, when did Mimiru, Bear and the others meet them? Shouldn't they have shown that?

Shouldn't they have shown that?At the very beginning of Game 1 (Infection) Kite (you, the player) aquires the Twilight Bracelet form Aura, who intended it for Orca, who was Data Drained by Skeith. The bracelet allows him the same Data Drain powers that his enemy's use. he uses it to purge Virus Cores fomr infected monsters. Non infected monsters are reconfigured to weaklings (sometimes they give you good items) that yeild miniscule EXP

Elk was in the games. There is a reason he looks similar to Tsukasa, or rather,the reason he's important is becuase he looks like Tsukasa.

Over the course of the games you run into Mimiru, Bear, Crim and A-20 in dungeons. However, in the 4th game I've seen Mimiru, Bear and A-20 roaming the root towns and they talk to me as if they know me. Mimiru also comments to me that "my friend" loks like her (BlackRose) and that she wonders if she too should have chosen brighter colors when designing her avatar.

oh and, Play the Friggin Games

About the 4th game I fought the Guardian! it was so cool, and if you Data Drain it, you have to fight just the bracelet, which unloads massive spells on you, but always gives you 520 EXP when it finally dies, I've been leveling up quickly thanks to that nifty trick.

But, Quarentine is shorter than Outbreak, also I have seen all the sign characters in the games

But I really didn't use Sora's Blades, I alternated between two others that were rare 55 weapons, one was thunder element based, and the other was water I think...

But I really didn't use Sora's Blades, I alternated between two others that were rare 55 weapons, one was thunder element based, and the other was water I think...I've gotten to keeping double elemetal weapons on me, regardelss of their level, jsut the ability to do elemental physical attacks is just too handy to pass up. Especially agians those pesky Magic tolerant monsters. The DEATH spell Sora's blades cast randomely more than halves a monster's HP. it's really usefull if it happens in the first few hits (but not using the Skills tho, only with regular attacks)

Artemis: The manga was first launched along with the show (SIGN) and the game (Infection) the entire idea was to have a multi -media event telling different parts of a story that spans a few years. Just cuase TWILIGHT BRACLET takes place 4 years after the game doens't technically make it a sequel, since they were all conceived of at the same time. The show ("DUSK") was just made to cash in on the popularity of the manga and first show. By reading the manga, it halps to give you a grasp on how the characters fomr the games end up, and the ramifications of their actions.

I dunno who your source is, but you heard wrong. After the first few episodes the anime goes way off into left field.
