What is this "NBS"?
"Nationalists Broadcasting Slop" :D
NBC better sue this "NBS" for using the name "Today Show"! ;)

If it's going to win for anything at all, it's the Parody James bond OP.
Gota be that.

... & I couldn't be more thrilled for our nominations!! :D
As for me personally, it really does feel like being up for "Performer in an Animated Program" is quite enough!! :)
If I should be so lucky as to win the award, you know :daffy: will have "thomething to thay", since this is the first major nomination he's ever gotten for anything!!
I think Bob Bergen deserved a nod as well, but, hey -- there's always next year!!
Anyway, thanks, TZ & all those who watched us this 1st season, for your enthusiastic support for Duck Dodgers (& other comments)!!
Wish us luck (unless you liked the competition better)!! :p

I'm going to wait until the second season of Duck Dodgers in June before I make my final verdict of the show. But congratulations on the nominations.

Thanks, Matt -- if I may also speak for Spike, Tony, Tom, Paul, et al.
As for what you think of "Duck Dodgers", should I hold my breath? It's harder to lisp that way. :p
And while we're on the subject, how come there was no mention of this year's Daytime Emmy nominations for Animated Programs in your News Ticker last Friday or Saturday?
Did I miss that? Or aren't the Emmy awards at least as important as news about "Scrapped Princess" to this website?

Animation fans aren't really a big fan of Emmys these days, mostly because they get burned all too often by a bad committee decision. Especially this year, with them picking Simpsons' "Gay of the Condos" over Futurama. Daytime emmys I can't even predict. I'm just turned off by them completely. Of course this should have no effect on the news staff reporting these things, I'm not even a reporter. So I dunno why it wasn't covered.

I think it is because the Emmys haven't earned the right to be reported on by cartoon sites as much as the Oscars because the Oscars give the award during the program.

Heh!! If that's true, then I can only imagine what they think of other, less-well-known, committee-helmed animation awards!!
[QUOTE=Matt Wilson]Especially this year, with them picking Simpsons' "Gay of the Condos" over Futurama.[QUOTE]
Well, they're not part of the Daytime nominations, but hmm, yeah, I think I've heard of those shows. I'll have to watch 'em sometime. ;)

 Come to think of it, neither can I!!

Well, I'm jazzed!! After 16 years of playing Daffy & all the other Looney Tunes, a nomination for anything feels like a Lifetime Achievement Award!! :D

Fair enough. Thanks for your usual candor, Matt.
(Maybe TZ should hand out its own awards!!
No, wait!! On second thought, don't do that!! I couldn't stand the rejection!! :o )
And Jimmy Kustes has an interesting point, although the Emmies' Animation categories have been televised in the past at least once to my recollection -- in 1991, when the big winner was "Tiny Toons"; I still have the tape.
(Guess I'm a little older than you!! :bosko: )

I can't really say I'm a big fan of the Annies either. It just seems criminal that Simpsons would triumph over Samurai Jack. And that animators and artists VOTED for Simpsons over Jack! I can't comprehend it.

Three Gays of the Condo was one of the worst Simpsons episodes ever, IMO. How THAT won over a truly emotional and creative Futurama episode, The Sting, just shows how pathetic the Emmys are. Plus, Simpsons has kept the same look for 15 years (minus cosmetic changes to the characters and the change from ink & paint to digital), yet a truly original-looking show like Samurai Jack loses. There's no justice, I tell ya.
I'm glad to see that Duck Dodgers is nominated for 3 Daytime emmy's. It's a good show, so I'm glad it's getting somewhat recognized. Too bad the animation part won't be televised, but I doubt I'd have remembered to watch the awards show anyways..
Here's hoping for at least one DD win. :p

Matt, we're in total agreement on this point.
IMHO, "Samurai Jack" is visually brilliant: highly original; consistently, jaw-droppingly exciting; consistently surprising within its fantastic style's universe; and ultimately superior to just about everything I've seen in many a year!!
To say nothing of the sly, intelligent, dramatically compelling & occasionally hilarious writing, and all other aspects of production.
It was an honor to be cast in ep # VII, :D , & I'm looking forward to doing more voicework for this show anytime!!
Maybe "The Simpsons" simply has a larger voting bloc?
Still, though the ignoring of SJ's true quality is equally inexplicable to me, we know it will survive far beyond the memory of any award.
Teaser: A member of SJ's regular cast will guest-star in the 2nd season of "Duck Dodgers"!! ;)

Joe: By that do you mean one of the actors, like Phil LaMarr or Mako, or one of the actual characters as well?
If it is Phil, I wouldn't be surprised. He's been busy too.
Congrats on the nominations, you really deserve them!
Meh, the only time I ever really watch an award show is if I have a homework assignment on it. However, an official TZ Award special WOULD be really cool...

Heh heh heh...!! Your guess is NOT as good as mine!!
But even if I told you, it'd be almost impossible to describe, story-wise!!

BTW, thanks, TZ News Dept., for updating us on this year's nominations. (I kept checking.)
Whether the fanworld loves or loathes 'em, they are of interest to the industry at least (& to those of us in both worlds). ;)
And, hey!! Daffy has gone, so far, 66 years without 1 Oscar nomination!! It ain't every day Daffy gets recognition for anything!! (Except being funny.) :D

And, hey!! Daffy has gone, so far, 66 years without 1 Oscar nomination!! It ain't every day Daffy gets recognition for anything!! (Except being funny.) :D Aw, the Golden Naked Baldheaded Awards are a joke anyway. I mean, they could have a Best Animated Picture award, but no best actor and actress in an animated role. The outrage. Same with the primetime Emmys.
At least the Daytime Emmys are smart enough to put both live-action and voice actors in the same category, so congrats, Mr. Alaskey, for being in such good company.

Um, they used to do it that way, but this year, if you'll forgive a reluctant correction, the category title reads: "Performer in an Animated Program" & all the nominees therein are indeed from TV cartoon shows, for a welcome change.
The live-action folk have their own, separate bloc.
