If you've only been watching what's on the FoxBox right now, this will be uber-spoilers. Most of this will go over your head, I'm afraid, since the characters that come and how the plot gets to this point hasn't even really been hinted at. That being said, here's a summary of the last episode.
After HAO beats everyone who tries to stop him, the Spirit of Fire enters the large pillar that is the Great Spirits. The Spirit of Fire re-emerges, now golden. Yoh and Amidamaru try to strike HAO once again, but is shot down. All of the other shamans in Patch Village watch from afar, all voicing there concern for Yoh. Yoh tries once again, but is caught in the hand of the gigantic Spirit of Fire. HAO gloats, and Yoh argues with him. Yoh gets thrown to the ground, everyone there in the Holy Ground screams, but Amidamaru oversouls and softens the landing. HAO then proceeds to assualy Yoh ad Amidamaru with stream of flame from the Spirit of Fire. Now everyone gets _really_ worried, and basically lends him their Furyoku (which is shown as a bird of light flying towards a tree). Everyone in the whole village starts to do this, showing everyone Yoh and his friends have met along the way. The tree starts glowing, and we see Yoh smiling. The fire stops, and Yoh is protected by everyone's gift, and sees a vision of all his friends. Yoh laughs, and Amidamaru turns into a oversoul that's basically a giant version of himself decked out in full Samurai gear, holding the big Spirt of Sword. They fly up so they are even with HAO and the Spirit of Fire. HAO is suprised, and Yoh explains that everyone has lent him their power, and that he cannot lose. A fight between the two giants commences, as Yoh and HAO yell about their different philosophies. It ends when Amidamaru cuts the Spirit of Fire (and Hao) straight down the middle. A light engulfs everyone, and they find themselves standing out in the middle of the desert, Patch Village has dissapeared. Yoh smiles, it's over. Everyone starts to go their seperate ways, and Goldva explains the Shaman Fight is suspended until they hear from the Great Spirits (which have also supposedly dissapeared.)
Back in Japan, all is back to normal like it was before the Shaman Fight. Anna is taste-testing some of Yoh's cooking, and approves. When Yoh makes excuses when she asks for seconds, it's revealed it's just warmed up leftovers. Yoh's in trouble, and he and Amidamaru cry over how he'll surely be punished later. Yoh and Anna leave for school (and apparently Faust and Eliza have moved in, as they wave goodbye). Manta starts a voice over about how crazy everything was, and how it seems unreal that all of that really happened. Meanwhile we see Yoh and Anna meet up with him on their way. Ryu is shown in a park brushing his teeth at a water fountain, with his motorcycle parked nearby. Tokageroh tries to be playful by blocking up the pipes, but when Ryu tells him to stop, water comes out and soak's Ryu's hairdo. Tokagero consoles him by pointing out he was going to wear his helmet anyways, and so they drive off on the highway, Ryu singing on the way. Horo Horo and Pirika are trying to grow some fields of coltsfoot, but Horo Horo can't figure out how to fix the tractor. As Pirika and Kororo laugh at him, it's shown that it is simply out of gas. Chocolove's in New York, where he's feeding some cats in an alley behind the Restaurant he's apparently working at. Someone offscreen asks him when his next performance is, and he tells them "soon," and assures him he's got a great new joke. He confides in the cats (one of which has Mick inside, apparently) that he's actually in a slump, and hasn't thought of anything yet. Lyzerg is writing in his house, and is pestered by Morphine to go to bed.
Back at the Asakura residence, Tao Ren looks around nervously. He thinks back, looking at his large bag, and remembers his sister Jun telling him to deliver it to the Asakuras for her, assuring him it's dried avalone. Ren mutters about why she didn't just mail it, but Bason appears and point out he came all the way here nonetheless. They are both suprised by Anna, who asks what they're doing. Manta and Yoh are relaxing at the graveyard, watching the sunset. Apparently Yoh is in charge of dinner, but he's not worried about it (his punishment from this morning is another matter). Yoh decides he should leave to get started, and Manta has to go to cram school, but Yoh invites Manta to come eat at his house when he's done. Manta walks, thinking to himself about the unresolved questions remaining about that last showdown - Was it really all the Great Spirit's doing? Was HAO really gone? He decides that he doesn't know. (Cue credits) Yoh comes home with some food, and sees Ren to his delight, and finds Anna's already started making dinner to his horror. Manta's in class, watching the clock. Horo Horo, Pirika, and Ryu all eat together by the riverside. Amidamaru, Bason, and Mosuke are getting drunk at the graveyard(!). Morphine pulls a blanket over Lyzerg, who's fallen asleep at his desk. Chocolove is out in public wearing a banana suit (!!). Basically, we keep seeing more people we've met during the series relaxing, and then seeing a shooting star go across the sky. Manta walks in to find Yoh and Ren sitting at the table waiting for him and Anna to come sit and eat. In the other room, we see a wrapped up harusume and Yoh's Shaman Bell hanging on it. We zoom in, and it lights up. The End.
EDIT: Oh, forgot to mention, the manga's still running by the way, although for how much longer is uncertain. I prefer the manga myself, as it was my introduction to the series, and it does a better job I think of establishing the characters and explaining the story. As much as I hate to admit it, the end of the anime seems to have to rush the Shaman Fight finals.
