Can Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam(Loney Toons) can keep their guns and shoot them while the anime(YGO) charcters get theirs digitaly erased?
Why can US toons can die and be in hell while DBZ's end up in HFIL?
Yes, I'm being sarcastic, but this censorship hypocricy is ticking me off:mad: .

Because in those old cartons it's supposed to be comedic... When Daffy gets shot, he lives and sometimes his beak goes spinning. In a Looney Tunes cartoon when someone dies, next thing you know, the character will be back next cartoon. In a lot of anime, if the character dies, they are dead... There are a few exceptions, but...
Yeah, it sort of doesn't make sense becuase it's teaching naive kids that there are no consequences in getting shot, but what can you do?

I dunno, why do parents try to get stuff like Power Rangers banned, then take their kids to see The Passion of Christ?
Makes no sense either way.

Oh yes, in shows like Tom & Jerry people drink(the little gray mouse friend of Jerry is an example) and get drunk, while folks over legal age(Master Roshi) get their beer "magicaly" turn into water.

Trust me guys, there have been more people complaining about the violence in these old American cartoons than there have been about anime etc. I guarantee you that the same people who have problems with DBZ and the like also have problems with Daffy Duck being shot be Elmer Fudd,

Maybe because all of these Looney Toons were originally intended for adults.

Pretty much every piece of animation, regardless of its nationality, goes through the editing process, if for different reasons. The 12 Banned Looney Tunes shorts is a great example, and countless others have had scenes taken out for syndication because they've got racist stereotypes or more-violent-than-usual content. I know, it's destroying the artistic vision, but it's a sad fact.

How does that explain Batman, Superman, Batman Beyond, and Justice League though?

They have a Bruce Timm Magic Seal of Awesome on them. Whenever the censors try to lift a knife to those shows they get zapped.
Or maybe it's just because aren't offended by the current products of the society they were born in as often as they are by products from across the ocean or from sixty years ago. That reason sounds pretty good too.

Classic Cartoons are edited all the same for a variety of other reasons, so stop whining. Classic Cartoons are rarely ever shown on Cartoon Network anymore and when they do they are sometimes edited, redrawn, computer colorized and time compressed.
Was this supposed to be one of those "anime gets no respect compared to inferior american animation" threads? Please.

They are censor too, just not as badly as the other US shows.
