I haven't seen the issue yet (I'm still waiting for a good mail order website for comics...I have no shoppe here...), but I have a question about the preview pics -- which, by the way, look awesome. the colors and sharpness are excellent, and the dialogue, especially Raven's and Star's one-liner, is very nice.
I'm assuming Star's arm got fractured/broken/ouchie-d in some non-trivial fashion, yet Raven just touched her with a glowing hand and she seemed fine. Does this mean DCAU Raven has some sort of healing powers? If so, I wonder if we'll ever see them in the show.
Then again, that would require someone getting moderately-to-seriously hurt on the cartoon...which probably isn't going to happen anytime soon.

We actually saw that in the first episode (well, third in production), "Final Exam". Beast Boy and Raven got back to the tower, and Beast Boy sat down, rubbing his leg. Raven did some of her voodoo magic and healed Beast Boy's leg, to which he replied: "Who knew we had a doctor in the house?"
On the issue itself: It had some of the cheesiest dialogue I've yet read in this book, but seeing as how it was a Valentines Day issue, I guess it was necessary. Also noticeable, were alot more of the anime-esque faces that we see on the show--not bad, really, just worth mentioning.
I'll never really understand it though: Beast Boy seems to come out looking somewhat off-model (visage wise) in every issue so far, even on the cover to #2. It's more noticeable in recent issues, though (due to different artists, of course). Todd Nauck definitely drew him (and the rest of the Titans) best though, so hopefully he'll return to the book--and it looks like he's doing #06 and #07.
Overall: An enjoyable Valentines Day story, complete with some great Puppet Master action...

Oh.
For some reason, I've never actually been able to sit through an entire airing of Final Exam. I always miss the first five minutes, or the last ten ...
I'll just go back to lurking now, where it's safe... ;)

Well I can say that this issue was pretty good, at least for Raven and her Date, i mean that is the first time ever I have seen Raven on a Date, and really it seems Starfire and Robin never got to do a chance to so called kiss, because the Puppet King had to bump in to thier fun plus had gotten Cyborg and Beast Boy put under control of the Puppet King, yet I will say this was not a bad volume, beter then number 3.
BTW, very nice avatar Bird Boy, I did not know you liked Futurama. :)

I love the artowrk on this issue, though the front cover is a little ugly
(Though the small pictures of Raven and Beast Boy firing hearts at one another is most assuredly welcome, I know her date is'nt with Beast Boy, but at least the artist apparently pays attention to the BB/R Fanbase:D )

Yes, he's back on for issue #6 (Thunder and Lightning) and #7 (Blackfire), then a different creative team is handling #8 (Mad Mod), but we both return for #9 (Gizmo and Fixit)...

Hmmm, I did not know that Fixit was a character in this series, but how come he was not in the cartoon version, unless the #9 volume relates to the Episode "Car Troble" but I am totally not sure on the subject.

Fixit appeared in the episode "Sum of His Parts." Considering his and Gizmo's areas of expertise (if you will), it just made sense to me to... pit them against each other. And, of course, you have to have Cyborg in there somewhere. Let's just say the Titans find themselves mixed up in some mechanical mayhem in that issue ;)

This is the best issue so far. I really believe that with this issue this series is finding its footing as far as story style and characterization goes. While I enjoyed the first three issues there was something lacking. This is the first time that it seems that everything is nailed perfectly. This issue felt like an episode of the series in comic book form as opposed to the prototype feel of the first three issues (early issues of The Batman Adventures <first series> and Superman Adventures felt the same way). Everything just came together and now that the show is further along I have a feeling this series will get better.

Huh, I didn't know they had a comic of the new Teen Titans. (I only discovered this forum existed last week, so bear with me.) If I had money I'd probably look into reading it.

There are two.. one based on the Cartoon.. and the other rooted into the Original Comics (Where heroes are more then capes and costumes)

What exactly is meant by that little parenthetical jab? I'm not trying to start anything, I promise, but I'm curious.

Guys...I'm all for an active topic, but half of the posts in here are just "I haven't gotten it yet, I will later"--if you don't have it, then don't post about it. It just looks like you're padding your post count. When you get it, bump the thread. That's what the talkbacks are for--discussion on it's topic forever and ever...

Quite Simple.. in the Cartoon and GO! Comic.. The titans have no lives, no secert idenities, they are the titans and just the titans.
in the other comic we see that the Titans have lives.. Like Tim's (Robin) issues of having to lie to his father about where he is spending the weekends.. or Bart, Cassie, and Kon-El having issues at school and with there families because of there powers..
Things aren't all fun and games.. DeathStroke (Slade) doesn't want to make Robin his apperntice... he wants to kill the Titans. (Slight Spoiler, In the first issue, he takes a shotgun and blows off Kid Flash's Kneecap..

I got it! I got it the day it was scheduled to come out! I was almost stalking my local comic shop for it. First in, first out with the new issue! I did like the book. It goes quite well with how I feel about certain relationships. Here, highlight at your own risks...
Robin and Star go on a Valentines Day date. First and foremost, I don't like the coupling. Mainly because I just don't like Robin that well (I think he's cool, I just don't like him. Same goes for ol' Batsy). So, they go on this date, and he's a terrible date. Just leaves her be to play a DDRish game. Then, he just kinda whiffs it in the tunnel of love and seems totally uninterested, and finally, he's happier when he's fighting with the Puppet King. In the end, the date sucked and you find out Raven was with that Goth guy for Valentines day, which is highly OOC, but I thought it was cute.
The comic made me happy because I don't like the couple. And thus, I now have ammo for my arguement!
But it was a funny comic. Not really all that action packed, but the Teen Titans GO! comic isn't really about the action, it's more about the jokes and such.
Now, I just can't wait for the Blackfire issue.

Lotsa action in that issue! And the one preceding it featuring Thunder and Lightning. Went with a sibling rivarly theme for both these stories with plenty of fighting :D

Well, I love the comic because it's funny. I mean, I really don't care so much about action. I will only like something if I like the characters. Plot wouldn't even matter to me that much. I'm dead serious too. If I can't find a character I can either relate to, or just like because they're cool or what not, I won't read it. This comic has characters I can relate (Cyborg and Beastboy) to or find highly appealing (I think Starfire is the most adorable character ever). That's not something I find very often. Either in cartoons, anime, or comics.
It did have more action than the other issues though. I liked it really. Plus, the whole thing went better than I would have deamed. When I first saw the cover, I about died. Mainly because I'm not a Robin/Starfire person.
Oh, and Raven was absolutely hilarious. A bit OOC, but that's fine with me. I like that from time to time. I thought the little scene with her and the goth guy in that little flowery heart was pretty cute.

I liked this. I thought Robin acted like a perfectly, clueless, jerky, teenage boy on his date with Starfire. He's lucky Starfire doesn't quite understand our dating customs. If she did she'd be fed up with him pretty quick!:D
I also liked the little thing with Raven and the Goth from "Sisters". It was very sweet and funny. I love Raven so much and can totally see why a guy would dig her.
My only complaint about this issue: no knock-knock jokes or doodles (save the last page.) C'mon guys, they're the reason I pick up the book!;) Score: ****

You hit the nail on the head! Some readers were disappointed that Robin wasn't the best date but, you know, he's just a kid and hasn't exactly had time to perfect the dating skills with all the crime fighting he's had to do. Some folks were also disappointed that he and Star didn't kiss. Come on people, give 'em time! Look how long it took Lois and Clark to hook up :D
As for the super-dees, they'll be back...

You're right, of course: romance evolves. It isn't like flipping a light swtich. And they are kids. I'm actually quite happy Robin wasn't the best date. It's in character for him. All he's got for a model for how to be a good date is Bruce, who's either a) totally unnapproachable or b) totally foppish, depending on who he is at the time. Either way, not the best inspiration.
As for the kissing, I can wait. I waited decades for Dick and Babs in the regular DCU, after all...
