Verily, this sucks. I'd still like to know what kind of injury he got, but at least he's well enough to talk.
Still, because of this, we've got the details on an episode... solo Green Lantern vs. Gorilla Grodd action. And Dini does come up with cool story ideas, so at least we've got something.

I'm actually not worried. While he has written some good stuff, he's also written some garbage. I'd rathar he give us a good live action BB movie, than a mediocre JL script.

Not to sound rude, but this was already brought up in the "Paul Dini On JL!" thread a couple of days ago.

Injured? What did he injure? His imagination?

I think the comment on Dini's recent inferior writing is valid here. True, we have made that statement elsewhere, but it's not the first time the same statement was made in more than one thread. If his writing is gonna be on the level of UNITY, then I'm not gonna miss his around.

Frankly I think that injured thing is a bunch of crap.....if he's injured what did he injure that wouldn't let him be able to write?

Oh, c'mon. We may regret that he is not writing a script, but is it really up to us to judge what circumstances would be a "legitimate" excuse for him to bow out?
Writers are idiosyncratic: Some can only write long-hand, for instance, while others can only write at a typewriter or by giving dictation. If the injury (whatever it is) keeps him from working via his preferred mode, who are we to say he should work via a method he finds stifling or unproductive?
Maybe he sustained a serious injury that requires a long recovery time. Yes, Stephen King managed to write while suffering huge injuries. But do we really want to say that all writers must have King's stamina and appetite for work? Do we want to lay down the law about how crippled a writer has to be before we'll let him drop a project?
We don't know what the facts surrounding his mishap are; worse, we don't know what facts Dini himself takes to be relevant in deciding whether to bow out. Instead of speculating about undisclosed and sinister forces, how about simply wishing him a swift recovery?
