View Full Version : Adult Swim Time Change in April?
OK, the Initiative said that Toonami is moving to Saturdays from 7PM-midnight (I'm happy!). So, is Adult Swim moving back an hour (again) to Midnight-3AM, or is it getting an hour cut off on Saturdays? And whatever happens there, will the same thing happen to the other blocks too? (I'd imagine WS & CN would want Adult Swim in the same time block each day for simplicity's sake and people won't get confused)

I bet they're going to cut off the hour with Inu Yasha and call that toonami.

Ha ha.
Animatrix was supposed to premiere April 17th at 11:00. And if AS wants a vialbe movie night, they'd need a minimum 3 hour block.

Adult Swim can't air anything over TV14. They were the 'teen' block even before Toonami started this stuff up.

I'm thinking the PR was a bit incorrect by saying Toonami is from 7-12 and may have meant 7-11. Just a thought.

That's what I'm hoping.

I highly doubt it, I'd expect ASA to start at midnight, it would ensure that the majority of the younger audiances are gone, since 11PM didn't scare them off two Decembers ago.
I'd rather them start at Midnight for Saturdays. It gives Toonami an extra hour, and I already stay up until 3AM anyway Saturday nights, so it won't bother me at all.

Where the hell did that come from? I don't remember typing that.

But with that, some of the new shows would air after 1 am, which I have never seen AS do, except in the case of stealth premieres.
Perhaps it's moving to midnight on Saturdays only?

I don't think so. Considering Aqua Teens move to weeknights on April 19th.

Well the same Initiative said Sealab will be premering in June at 11:30 so we can safely assume the hour pull back is for Saturday only.

Of course, it is possible (in fact, I'm pretty sure that's what they're doing)that AS is dropping a half hour of Action to accomidate ATHF (with it airing after Family Guy and Futurama), thus making weekdays half comedy/half action.

I thought AS will start at 11 but it change to 12:00 am isn't mean 2 hours of AS on saturday night or 3 hours can confrim this info?

It's either one of these:
a) Five hours of anime, aka...
12:00 - Wolf's Rain
12:30 - Inuyasha
1:00 - Inuyasha
1:30 - Witch Hunter Robin
2:00 - Big O
2:30 - Cowboy Bebop
3:00 - Trigun
3:30 - Blue Gender
4:00 - FLCL
4:30 - Lupin
b) Three hours of anime from 12-3, and then just the same classic cartoons as usually scheduled. Somehow I doubt they want to piss classic cartoon fans off more than they already have.

You think so? I think they'll eventually try to get rid of all classics on CN and regulate them all to Boomerang. Of course, the day they do, renegade senior citizens and young fans of Looney Tunes and Popeye will burn Atlanta to the ground, but still.

Well i know this may seem to be a very good concept, with the animes of Cowboy Bebop, Wolf Rain, Witch Hunter Robin,Big O and FLCL, it seems Inu Yasha wich most fans of the action block are so not liking too well is a bit on the 1 hour thing and I think that needs to be chilled down to just 30 minutes and just have Regin be on the 4:30 time slot for as good example, but of coruse that is a thought but hoply that concept will be a bit better.

Heh, do people actually stay awake between the hours of 3-6am and watch classic cartoons at all??????? The only time area that CN ever gets ratings for those shows are during their boomerang mini block on saturday mornings from 6-8am or wahtever time it is. And if these people are really that obsessed with classic toons then they should buy Boomerang for gods sake. And by the way, is Animatrix still going to air at 11pm on April 17th? Cuz i'm kinda getting the feeling that its going to be given the boot.

With CN moving Toonami to Saturdays until midnite, I think AS just lost an hour from Saturdays, and that the 2 episodes of Inuyasha weekly will be cut back to one episode per week. (I knew that a full hour of IY on Saturdays was just too good to be true.)
I think that the Sat. AS block will be:
Wolf's Rain - midnite
Inuyasha - 12:30 a.m.
Other anime - 1 a.m.
Other anime - 1:30 a.m.
Then back to classic cartoons after 2 a.m.
Still, the new Saturday "Teen-ami" block looks like its gonna be full of good shows leading into Adult Swim. (^_*)

I still think the Toonami til midnight was a mistake. If they were shifting the premieres of Wolf's Rain and Inu, why weren't new dates/times given in the PR? And if AS ever wants to show movies, they'd need a minimum of 3 hours for several titles.
