Yea, I saw those.
For those who don't know: R.O.D. the TV will rock your socks off. Seriously. Especially with the cleaned up animation the DVDs will have.
So, 100 minutes... is that 4 episodes at 25 minutes each? So, probably 8 discs at 30 bucks each. I better start saving.
That's a pretty spendy starter box, too. It better be fancy with goodies galore. A Soundtrack would be awesome. Alright, enough speculation...
EDIT: Oh, ditto for Gadguard too.

4 episodes on the first disc usually indicates a 7 disc release.(Or so I've experienced.)
And yes, ROD The TV rocks hard.

I been waiting to see more than one episode of Gungrave, heard it's not that good but I heard from other people that it is, so I guess I'l find out.

R.O.D. The TV is a must for me since I love the OVA. I may just pick up the first Gungrave DVD and see how it is. I've seen the first episode though and wasn't too impressed with it.

I started watching the other day..and I wasn't thrilled with the first episode. But I watched a bit more..and it rocks.
If you enjoy gangster/mafia movies, you'll LOVE this show.
It's really good and it has some great fight scenes.
Though, there is a lot of blood and death...(I'd say that everyone who ISN'T a main character is basically target practice. )
It's good. I'd give it an 8.5/10.

R.O.D. The TV is very good. It's a true sequel to the R.O.D OAV. If you didn't understand what happened in the OAV, the TV series will clear everything up.
I recommend that you wait until the whole series is released. The cliffhangers in the later episodes are just killers.

Anyone who tells you that Gungrave "isn't that good" has almost certainly not watched more than the first episode. The Gungrave part of this press release excites me far more than the R.O.D portion, and I'm a major fan of both shows. Gungrave is the most overlooked series currently airing in Japan and, quite frankly, is also the best. Get this series when it comes out. Or if, like me, you can't wait five months for the first DVD, find an ethically questionable way to watch it now, and THEN get it when it comes out. It's one of the few things I'll ever be willing to pay $8.00 an episode for.
Oh, and uh...hi.

Heh, seems like the 5th DVD will end on episode 20.
>_<;;;;;;;;
..Yah. If you can, then wait until they are all released. Some of the cliffhangers made me want to smash my computer screen. >_<;

I'll say. I think the series is more hypnotic than anything. It's slow, but dramatic, and the animation is unreal.

Well, I haven't played the game, but the story is pretty deep.
It gives some pretty good background to Balladbird Lee, Bear Walken, Bob Poundmax, and Bunji. Not to mention the...errm..taboo relationships between some people. =/
It's a great series with good action.
Most of the people I've met, and have seen it, have loved every bit of it.
Though, The first episode is a bit slow. =/

Good, good, my plan (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=100777) to get people talking about Gungrave is moving along nicely due to completely unrelated events. I will chuckle ominously about this.
I have some theories about the first episode of the show. Specifically, I'm not sure if it's actually supposed to be the first episode at all, but rather a sort of advance preview of the series. This is based in part on the fact that it's the only episode thus far whose title is in Japanese, and also because episode 18 is almost exactly the same, with minor changes and some additional scenes. Counter-argument: wouldn't we have heard something about this already were it the case? Well, I suppose we'll know for sure if there ends up being an episode 27. I still think a rather cool way to present the series would be to start at episode 2 and show brief clips from the first episode at the beginning of certain "turning point" episode up until episode 14. (2, 5, 7, 9, and 12 come to mind.)
Regardless of all that, though, the series has continued to be absolutely amazing so far, totally dispelling any fears I had that it would regreess into a mindless zombie shoot-em-up once it returned to the "present", and comes with my highest recommendations.
"Any song involving the lyric 'And the corn rows will run red with the blood of the tyrants' is automatically awesome. Why can't OUR national anthem be like that?"

Honestly, I doubt this is the case. First, the whole point of the backstory seems to be "See how we get to here" instead of trying to pull you through a rollercoaster of a story. That's why its so gloomy throughout: You know exactly how this all ends up. Its just a matter of how you get there.
For another, more practical reason, this involves slight spoilers. I will try to hide these so that those who are not yet watching can tell, but, think about what the show turns into after episode 18. Think about the structure of episodes 19 and 20. What is Grave doing? And how many of them are left? I'm almost wondering if they have enough material to get to 26, let alone add on 27.
As for the topic of ROD The TV, yes. Yes. YES. Its an amazing show, but the 4 release DVD might end up killing some of the momentum. The show is pretty slow in the early stages, outside of episode 1. Its quite possible for someone to get the entirely wrong idea of the show should they have not seen the ROD OVA or have faith that the show really isn't like how episodes 2-4 make it out to be(aside from that one action sequence in 4 at the end).
Plus, my god, 4 episodes a DVD means that there will actually be a break in time between 12 and 13. Tha's about the most cruel of cutoff points there could be. I hope to god they don't break that up, cause that would be a killer to wait months for. That's a much crueler cutoff point than the 20->21 cliffhanger (since, I'm sorry, but what really happened is really bleeding obvious. Not how, sure, but what the outcome is, that's a no-brainer.)
Now, if GITS:SAC just gets fast tracked, so that I might be able to see 2nd Gig released sometime before next year, I'd be a really really happy man.

No, I was actually referring to...
1. Big Daddy and Maria - She's what..20? He's...65? Oh, and him getting her pregnant too.
2. Harry and Bear Walken's daughter.
Harry met her at a party when he was invited into Big Daddy's 'Family'. He was like..25 at that time..and I think she was 10. They were going out ever since then. ._.
I don't really remember anything(Well, love related.) between Harry and Brandon.

That's why its so gloomy throughout: You know exactly how this all ends up. Its just a matter of how you get there. As I said, it's merely a theory of mine, much like how I like to entertain the notion that Gungrave takes place on Trigun's Gunsmoke 20,000 years in the future of that series, even though evidence increasingly supports the series being set in an alternate-reality version of present day Earth. And I'm actually performing this experiment now, showing the series to a friend of mine whom (amazingly enough) I had not yet convinced to watch it, splitting up the first episode as I described.
Wervyn: What song be that lyric line thingy from??If you mean the "corn rows run red with blood" bit, it's a paraphrased translation (and also something I heard a long time ago so I don't know how correct I am with it) of a lyric out of the Marseilles, the French national anthem. Take THAT, rockets' red glare!
