View Full Version : SVES schedule prections for the night ASA starts...

I haven't made nearly enough schedules these days... I think it's time I make another. So this is what I expect to see the night ASA comes back and SVES is shortened.
07:00 - Duel Masters
07:30 - Transformers: Energon
08:00 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (but it would be on weekdays as well)
08:30 - Jackie Chan Adventures or Yu-Gi-Oh!
09:00 - Teen Titans (place holder for Megas XRL)
09:30 - Dragonball GT
10:00 - Gundam SEED
10:30 - Cyborg 009
Yes I thoroughly believe Kenshin will be dropped and I'm certain that .hack//SIGN and KotZ will go. Given that KotZ hasn't found a good audience it's just toast and .hack//SIGN will have gotten 2+ runs so I guess it's okay for it to leave. Losing Kenshin would be shame though... I guess they could always put Gundam SEED at 9.5, Kenshin at 10, and Cyborg 009 at 10.5 (Kenshin and Cyborg 009 could swap as well of course) and either put Dragonball GT earlier on in the block (8 or 8.5) or send it back to Toonami.

My prediction is very similar to Hyper Luigi's with just a few shifts in the time slots.
Duel Masters and Transformers: Energon will probably open the block followed by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at 8:00. I would think Teen Titans would be moved back to 8:30 to pair Gundam Seed up with Dragon Ball GT. Somehow, I really don't see Gundam Seed going into the 10:00 or 10:30 slot (in fact, earlier than 9:00 wouldn't surprise me either) becuase, as good of an ASA lead in it might be, I think CN would see it as something to try to get the most out of (like how they started KotZ at 7:00) and I kinda' see it being paired up with Dragon Ball GT (another well established, likely ratings booster) wherever it airs. As for the rest... Hyper Luigi's probably on the mark. My prediction is that it'll probably look like either of these:
7:00 - Duel Masters
7:30 - Transformers: Energon
8:00 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
8:30 - Teen Titans
9:00 - Gundam Seed
9:30 - Dragon Ball GT
10:00 - Knights of the Zodiac (not sure why - I just see them keeping this on *shrug*)
10:30 - Cyborg 009
or, to re-arrange things just a bit:
7:00 - Duel Masters
7:30 - Transformers: Energon
8:00 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
8:30 - Gundam Seed
9:00 - Dragon Ball GT
9:30 - Knights of the Zodiac
10:00 - Teen Titans
10:30 - Cyborg 009
And of course, what schedule thread would be complete without a total "fantasy" schedule or two?
7:00 - Duel Masters
7:30 - Transformers: Energon
8:00 - Astroboy
8:30 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
9:00 - Gundam Seed
9:30 - Teen Titans
10:00 - Cyborg 009
10:30 - Rurouni Kenshin (it'd be on weekdays as an AS lead-in as well)

07:00PM: Duel Masters
07:30PM: Jackie Chan Adventures
08:00PM: Teen Titans
08:30PM: Transformers: Energon
09:00PM: Dragonball GT
09:30PM: Cyborg 009
10:00PM: Rurouni Kenshin
10:30PM: Gundam SEED
Duel Masters, Transformers: Energon, Cyborg 009 and Gundam SEED are all shows that have been announced or planned to premiere or debut new episodes on SVES. Rurouni Kenshin and DBGT don't seem like they are going anywhere while Teen Titans is likely going to re-air S2 once it finishes. Jackie Chan Adventures is just in there to fill a slot.

7:00 - Duel Masters
7:30 - Transformers: Energon
8:00 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
8:30 - Teen Titans
9:00 - Gundam Seed
9:30 - Dragon Ball GT
10:00 - Knights of the Zodiac (not sure why - I just see them keeping this on *shrug*)
10:30 - Cyborg 009
I'm begining to think that Knights of the Zodiac will get a weekday morning slot next to Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! where the ratings wouldn't matter and it could at least be taped by it's current (ever so small) fanbase.
Given that it's always been at 9pm. I question if they'll ever move Teen Titan's time... however bumping it up a half hour doesn't seem unreasonable. It would work with GT for sure but I also thought it would be good to stick at 10pm because that's where Justice League was and it did very well. Sooner or later new Cyborg 009 will be at 10:30 so grouping two shows with new episodes would be a splended way to end the schedule.
I also have a feeling that if Gundam SEED doesn't take the 10 spot than YGO will keep it. For some reason they feel that it's a late time worthy show... I wish they wouldn't. I don't want that trash anywhere near Adult Swim! (I didn't like it when it was on pre-AS hours on weekdays either).
Of course nothing is set in stone... perhaps they'll entirely shuffle the schedule... We'll just have to wait and see.
Ah yes a DREAM SVES schedule:
07:00 - Duel Masters
07:30 - Transformers: Energon
08:00 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
08:30 - Mega Man NT Warrior or Astroboy
09:00 - Teen Titans
09:30 - Gundam SEED
10:00 - Cyborg 009
10:30 - Rurouni Kenshin
And SVES expands to earlier hours and becomes TOONAMI:
05:00 - Dragonball Z (season 4)
05:30 - Thundercats (just for kicks)
06:00 - Zoids Chaotic Centuary / Guardian Force
06:30 - He-Man: MOTU
07:00 - Duel Masters
07:30 - Transformers: Energon
08:00 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
08:30 - Dragonball GT
09:00 - Teen Titans
09:30 - Gundam SEED
10:00 - Cyborg 009
10:30 - Rurouni Kenshin
7 - Duel Masters
7.5 - Transformers: Energon
8 - Pokemon
8.5 - Samurai Jack
9 - Teen Titans
9.5 - Dragonball GT
10 - Gundam SEED
10.5 - Cyborg 009
Makes sense to me. We already know that Duel Masters and Gundam SEED are coming, Energon has no reason to change time slots, DBGT will most likely still be on there, and Teen Titans ain't going ANYWHERE. Pokemon and Jack are there to fill in slots with popular shows and Cyborg 009 keeps airing.

Sounds about right Obi... I'd say unless TMNT goes to Toonami (and boy do I hope it does) then CN will want to pimp it on their Saturday night line-up given that they feel that it's where they should put all their important stuff. Putting TMNT only on weekdays in no block with little advertisement or coverage would be a waste given that it's incredibly popular for a revival series. The most popular one in fact and the second best rated series on the Fox Box (Sonic X being the first).

My prediction. Toonami Prime:
7.0 - Duel Masters
7.5 - Transformers Energon
8.0 - Samuari Jack
8.5 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
9.0 - Teen Titans
9.5 - Gundam SEED
10.0 - Cyborg 009
10.5 - Rurouni Kenshin
In this prediction, once Megas XLR was ready it would replace TMNT which at that point would be weekdays only.
Having four hours to work with instead of 7 allows for a tighter schedule and less filler. Thus, I am thinking they will stick with CN originals and acquistions that only air once a week. I put TMNT on for now though since it would be brand new. They could start by airing it weekdays and Saturdays for some extra promotion and then later have it be weekdays only as with other acquisitions with a lot of episodes.

My prediction. Toonami Prime
Are you saying that you think SVES will become Toonami? Does WS have the resources to do so? I would be more than happy if it did happen.

Makes sense to me.
I see Saturdays becoming increasily more CN original oriented over the year and next year (if it sticks around that long). As in Samurai Jack, Teen Titans, Megas, and Justice League (Unlimited) would be the highlights of the block and most everthing else would be filler. As Matt Wilson put it... just like CNF.

You bet they do.
They already have promos, intros, and bumpers for most of the shows on the block INCLUDING Duel Masters because it premires on Toonami. They'd only need to make ones for Teen Titans, Megas XRL, Transformers: Energon, and Gundam SEED and whatever else they throw on there... hopefully NOT Yu-Gi-Oh!
They could also go for a simpler layout and fuse it into the weekday one eventually. Similar to SVES simple feel but more serious and without the beeps and kazoos.

Resources? I think they have enough as well. Seven hours would have been a lot, mainly due to all the different show, but 4 hours is a lot more manageable, especially when all those shows will probably be on Toonami at some point anyway.

I think Toonami will get Rising Sun back before Saturdays personally.
I highly doubt that SVES is going to turn into Toonami.
Assuming that Matt is correct and that WS doesn't perceive SVES as a threat of any kind, and the fact that they've already got their hands tied with Toonami and AS, I don't think WS would actually WANT to take even more control of the block than they already do. I mean, right now they don't really do anything for it except advertisements, right? Didn't they even outsource the packaging? If they took over they'd have to do a complete overhaul and focus even more of their energy on it, and I don't think any of them wants that.
Besides, it has a completely different mission objective and the ratings will probably be going up soon anyway if they start putting NON-BOMBS on there and don't have to deal with so much filler shows.
As much as I'd love to see SVES become Toonami, it just isn't going to happen.

to re-arrange things just a bit:
7:00 - Duel Masters
7:30 - Transformers: Energon
8:00 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
8:30 - Gundam Seed
9:00 - Dragon Ball GT
9:30 - Knights of the Zodiac
10:00 - Teen Titans
10:30 - Cyborg 009
Well I seem to think that this time slot will work, remember it may almost replacate the Sunday line up with Teen Titans being at 10:00 of coruse this is just a thought on things and I hope this will work best.

KWB will NEVER let Toonami have a rising sun again. They know of course that Toonami's shows are MUCH better.

Why is there a huge viewership for the weekday 6:00 EST-8:00 EST block that I dont know about?
I think it is still one of the dead times for TV.

7:00 pm Duel Masters (New Episodes)
7:30 pm Transformers Energon (New Episodes)
8:00 pm Zoids Fuzors (Returning with New Episodes)
8:30 pm Yu-Gi-Oh (CN Premieres)
9:00 pm Gundam SEED (New Episodes)
9:30 pm Cyborg 009
10:00 pm Knights of the Zodiac
10:30 pm .hack//SIGN
I could see Kenshin airing weekdays again, hopefully. I don't think CN would just forget .hack//SIGN, but they may just throw some of the stuff on Sundays. Teen Titans gets great ratings on Sundays right? I think SEED would air in a stable timeslot. Zoids may return with new episodes, but more realistically, Pokemon with CN premiers. Yu-Gi-Oh will probably continue airing CN premiers. [ :( ] Hopefully Toonami will overtake SVES, but it probably won't..
I'm sure we're all way off.
