View Full Version : Bang on villians
Now then
Which villians, in any cartoon, do you feel got an absoloutly perfect portrayle? Whether they matched thier comic book counter parts, improved on them, or took bits and pieces and went from there.
Comments?
Doc Ock was one such villian, hands down. :D The 90's cartoon changed a bit about Otto Octavius' past (he never worked for the Hardy Foundation in the comics), but they did keep the accident that caused him to become Doctor Octopus the same.
Most importantly, though, they kept his personality true to the way he has been depicted in the comics. I liked his reply to the Kingpin in the "Insidious Six" when he is asked to join the team. His response is that he is a scientist, not a "petty hirling", and it is only after the Kingpin offers to assist him in his scientific endeavours that he agrees to join.
I liked his portrayals in the 60's and 80's cartoons as well, but the 90's TAS was the best incarnation of the Doctor.

Anyway...
The Lizard was done wonderfully on S:TAS
I think Evo Magneto was pretty good, I don't think he is anyway near as good as Movie Magneto but I still find Evo Magneto to be a really good version of the character. He's never too evil, and I like that. I perfer anti-hero Magneto to terrorist Magneto, sure in the comics some of the best stories involved Magento basically being a sadistic **** but I think the anti-hero thing worked in Evoulution perfectly.

i thought the xmen tas magneto was dead on. he had such a presense, and his voice is just hard to describe, it was perfect. he delivered this power and authority in his voice.
the kingpin in spidey tas. i loved the way he said "Smithe". he had a perfectly husky voice.
i loved the way the Sentinals sounded. their voices coupled with the mechanical sounds made them very intimidating.

Kingpin in Spider-Man: TAS was awesome!
I liked Doc Ock as well. He was pretty snappy.
Shocker was the coolest he's ever been on Spider-Man: TAS (and voiced by the VA of Darkwing Duck... ah yeah!)
I rather liked TAS' version of Venom even though it had nothing to do with Secret Wars. TAS' Black Spider-Man was SOOOOOOOOOO WICKED AWESOME. "The BLACK Spider-Man plays for keeps"
"The Night of the Lizard" potrayed the Lizard quite well. He got a little dumbed down in the series later on but he was kinda loveable.
I thought Dr. Doom was great in the Secret Wars on Spider-Man: TAS, as well as the Fantastic Four (more so on Spider-Man because he didn't have so much time to get corny).

I agree about the Kingpin and Shocker on Spider-Man: TAS they were dead on as was Hobgoblin.
I thought Dr. Doom from the 90's Fantastic Four was portrayed well.
Evo Magneto: Sure, he's less hard-core than the original, but I felt for him in "The Toad, the Witch, and the Wardrobe", and loved him in "Impact". Also, the "Day of Reckoning" plan? Pure genius.
Evo Mystique: They took the "struggling mother" bit and ran with it. I felt sorry for her. Too bad she came back after Rogue "killed" her.
Lance Alvers: Sure, he doesn't count, since he's: a) a new character, and b) not a villain, but I'm mentioning him anyway, since I lurve him. Such a great character.
