Hey everybody! Alas, I'm too dumb to be able to say anything witty right now, so how bout that fresh question!
Justice League. The next installment of animated Batman/Superman. This is pretty heavy! So it's up to you to make sure these characters shine as they always have. Pick your favorite JL character and answer this: If you could ensure the sucess of JL's interpretation of a hero's origin in joining the League, how would you have it play out?
Don't worry, I won't be suprised if a lot of you chose to outline how Batman will join. ;)

Indeed, Batman is my choice! Now, I know this will probably never happen, but I think the aliens that invade in the first episode should kill someone close to Bruce, (You decide who) and that will make him realize that the only way to stop the aliens from taking more innocent lives, is to join the most powerfull superhero team in the world! And after he plays a big part in saving the world, he realizes that the world (and the team) could use him as a full time member! Now that would be cool!
See ya!

Well, I would have the aliens just cause worldwide disaster, in Metropolis, Gotham, Keystone City, etc. This would cause various superheroes to investigate individually, and naturally their paths would cross. Slowly, they would start to team up. For example, Superman could fly into outerspace to try to find the spaceship and run across space cop GL who was told by the Guardians to investigate, meanwhile Batman decides to investigate a wrecked building at Keystone to see if he can gather any info on their weapons and how they function, and there he runs into Flash who could still be hanging around trying to rescue survivors from the rubble. As they slowly team up and finally come together to join one big group, they realize that they could've saved themselves a lot of time if they had been organized in one group to begin with, and in fact might have even been able to prevent the attacks. As a result, they build the Watchtower and decide to form a team.

I like those ideas. Although what I would add, as far as Batman's case goes, is something showing us he's joining for the only reason that he knows he can use the League's recources as is own, and for his own benefit. It adds another layer to the development of how manipulative he is. He's the only one that can save us from the freaks and monsters, etc.... Well don't let him find out, but he's right! :p
As far as Superman goes, I can't really give him an "origin on joining" that well, because as far as I know this would probably be HIS idea! ;) That darn boy scout.

Sorry, I've been done forever, but my phone line fell out of the computer, and me (being such a dork) didn't know what to do!
N-E-Ways, I choose Wonder Woman, a character that has always fascinated me. I am worried that she way come across as a snobby, fresh-of-Paradise-Ilse, fighting, itchy-bay super model, but that aside (cause I know that they'll do a pretty good job with her), I think that she will naturally join the team as it serves her purpose to aid and guide man-kind, a purpose I hope will not be eleminated in this incarnation of the world's best known and best liked female super heroine.
I don't know how they will bring these heroes together, but I hope it isn't a coincidental meeting. Sure, that worked for Batman and Superman, but won't you guys find it odd if suddenly everywhere you turn there is a superhero you've never met before (and a superhero never before mentionned in the other series)? I sure will. I hope that Bats and Supes finally join forces (as friends, if at all possible) and look up certain heroes they already know exist: Flash for example. I hope that Wondie will be a relatively new find to the world and that she will seek them out to learn more about the whole alien-plot-thingy, while characters like Hawkgirl and MM are discovered by the world as well as the team during the course of the ep. I am unsure as to whether or not GL's existance will be a surprise to Bats and Supes, since we all know Timm and co. aren't huge fans of tight continuity (referring to Kyle and the GL Corp's appearance on Superman), but I hope that they know of the Green Lantern Corps, which leaves it open for Kyle Raynor to join the team in the distant future without too much confusion.
I thought I would be speaking about Wonder Woman??? Oh well

I expect it to be part coincidence and part purposely teaming-up. I expect that some of the people like Martian Manhunter, GL, and Hawkgirl who are from different planets (or in the case of GL at least he has spent a lot of time in outer-space) they know what they are up against and could try to warn some of the heroes. And Superman could probably contact Bats (Bats probably wouldn't contact Supes, he's too independent). But if they are all fighting the same enemy, I think that it is believable that some of them would cross paths eventually.

I would like Superman, of all people, to be the last one to join. Just think about it for a second. Everyone expects Big Blue to be the one to knock on all the doors in the neighborhood and gather the Tupperware party. Oh that Batman, he's such a fuddy-duddy, there's no way he's gonna join.
But what if what we expect was opposite of the truth. What if Supes saw the idea of the ultimate super hero team as too threatening to Earth. It would become a target for every villain on Earth. It could even spawn their opposite(which of course it does). Martian Manhunter he builds the wagon and everyone jump on. Even Batman actually excepts with out much delay(though he probably has an ulterior motive to joining, albeit not evil but ulterior none-the-less). Wonder Woman’s on board, and she’s cute. But-No!-I still can’t join! While we’re going over minutes from last week, Parasite is sucking up Luthor’s brain. Sorry I’m busy here.
Now, look! Aliens! And there’s evil. Boy we’re screwed. Wish Superman was helping us out here. Hey, look there he is. Hey, maybe this whole deal isn’t so bad, after all. Ok, Superman’s on board. Samurai Jack look out! There’s a new original action show on the block!
(And I was talking to my mom and I was writing this and Batman would be eggar to join, because as a control freak being a part of the Justice League gives him more control.)

I don't know, I don't imagine Batman would be reluctant to join if something happens to Gotham City. The guy does have the capability to care about others and get out of the dark occasionally (remember that love story in "Mask of the Phantasm", I recall that had a lighter side of Batman.). He has a lighter side, perhaps he can find his own little job in the Justice League and keep to himself, but still work for the big cause happily. Doubt he would care if anything outside of Gotham happened, though, the few crossover episodes on "Batman/Superman Adventures" showed the relationship between Batman and Superman, and they don't like each other much.

I'm not sure if I'd like to see Superman as the last to join, but I would like him go through the rigors of fellow JLs' uncertainty and trepidation following the events of "Legacy." Is he still possessed in some way? Will he try to conquer earth again while some puppet master pulls his strings? I'd rather not see Superman is possessed by aliens again...how are we going to slow him down/ stop him type of scenario. "Legacy" and "The Call" covered that well enough. But, because of the events in Legacy, the world (and it's superheroes) can't totally trust him yet. Maybe out of the overall uneasiness others feel about Supes the JL will somehow be started? It's possible.
This would also tie up the events of "Legacy" nicely to close the chapter on S:TAS (because, IMO, there are still things to be developed and answered for from "Legacy").
Heck, maybe Supes is just depressed ro feeling sorry for himself after Legacy and lets his job performance slip, causing other heroes to pick up his slack.
