I was thinking of buying the video Toons at War, but I'd like to know what's on it before I spend $20. I heard it has very poor quality prints of cartoons. Could somebody please post the contents? I'll gladly appreciate it.

"Bugs Bunny Bond Rally"
"Rookie Review"
"You're A Sap, Mr. Jap" (Famous/Popeye)
"Seein' Red, White 'n' Blue" (Famous/Popeye)
"Bugs Bunny Nips The Nips"
"Mel Blanc & Lucille Ball" (live-action ciip from Armed Forces radio shos)
"Victory Through Air Power" trailer
"The Thrifty Pig" (Disney)
"7 Wise Dwarfs" (Disney)
"All Together Now" (Disney)
"The Spirit of '43" (Disney)
"Scrap Happy Daffy"
"The Ducktators"
"The Blitz Wolf"
"Confusions OF A Nutzy Spy"
"Coal Black & de Sebben Dwarfs"
[/list=1]
The worst print is "Rookie Review." Very faded and the cartoon looks like a black & white one tinted in pink.
"The Ducktators" is the usual i.e. incomplete print that ends with the Jerry Colonna-ish rabbit hitting everyone with a mallet.
"Scrap Happy Daffy" is missing its end title.
The prints of "Bugs Bunny Nips the Nips" and "The Blitz Wolf" are very good however.
For a public domain tape, the print quality is generally good and didn't interfere with my enjoyment of them.
Hope this helps.

"Confusions of a Nutzy Spy" is not on this tape. Plus, you left out "Tokio Jokio"!
The quality of this cartoon is pretty good for a public domain tape. But, the scratchy lines and the announcement that it is a captured Japanese newsreel are missing.

Hey Jefferson!
We may have different editions. Mine doesn't have "Tokio Jokio." Is yours put out by Yo-Ho Video too?

Here's another version I found, this one has Superman cartoons also, I guess.

Good Question!
I got my copy from the CULT FILM SITE over a year ago. And they sent the tape with a non-descript box and labels. The box was black and it simply said "Toons at War". It said nothing else. No copyrights, no nothing!
I got a tape of all the Superman cartoons from this site as well. And the box was similar! So, your guess is as good as mine!

that SEVERAL PD shops use the same title (of course, nobody would stoop so low as to copy someone else's PD compilation...
